Naito stands at the height of 5'8 and weighs a measly 132 pounds. His hair was originally a deep dark black, but he has dyed it to be the color silver. He had done this to match his hair to his younger sister who's hair was a deathly silver because of sickness. As he grew older, he leaves a few bangs of his hair black. Naito no longer wears contacts, instead he goes with his natural aqua like eye color. His facial expressions usually consist of calmness that can put many at ease when talking to him. When Naito is upset or distressed, this calm demeanor of his can turn into a look of complete and utter disgust, or ill intent; however he has learned to control this.

Naito is one who believes in class and is usual seen wearing uniforms. His basic attire now consists of a collared blue shirt with a yellow tie. He wears black trousers and brown dress shoes. He usually wears this outfit when on the clock for work, but while he is in school he usually wears the usual school uniform. Though, he'll be putting the school uniform to rest, as he will no longer be attending Kizuna Academy after graduation.

When in battle, Naito slicks back his hair to keep his bangs out of his eyes and appears like an entirely different person. Always standing in a ready position, he keeps his scabbard in his right hand and uses his left primarily to attack. His fighting style is refined, and shows no signs of being primal. This could be from his years of training and discipline. When fighting, people see him as a completely different person, and even he, himself, appears to be more mature and resolved. One could say this is similar to two sides to one coin.

Usually sporting a calm expression, even in the most difficult of times, people seem to have some trouble reading Naito's thoughts during a situation. Seeing how he is 99.99% indifferent most of the time, people seem to mistake him as being upset most of the time. In actuality, his mind is always analyzing details and complex situations, no matter the time of day. Being one who doesn't wish to be second to anyone, he wears the aura of someone with the potential of being the "Emperor" of Japan.

Personality:

Strong Expectations

Naito believes every human has the potential to rival that of the superhuman. More specifically, he believes the will of the people can overcome any hindrance or tragedy humanity may face. He believes the world can be changed by human hands, and that their full potential would bring them into a new age of enlightenment. Those who throw away their potential and cannot find purpose in life does bother him, but he does not look down on them as human beings. Though his words can be blunt and to the point, anyone can see that he isn't being harsh because he wants too. He simply believes everyone human being can become more with alittle effort and confidence.

A King is nothing without their People

Once before Naito believed the people were nothing but pawns, and that their deaths meant nothing as long as the strong survived in their stead. Though that thought process still remains in his head, he is much more understanding than before. He knows even the weak can rise and become strong with the proper motivation. Instead of stepping over the weak, the Tsurinai now wishes to bring them along on the journey of reaching a true strength for the human race. This perhaps makes him a capable leader than he was before his change in mentality and his maturity. Even if it comes to him playing the bad guy for someone to understand their true use and potential, he will do it so they can become a stronger version than their previous self.

Naito has made a pledge to himself to treat everyone equally. Thus, he attempts to close himself off from those he may find himself having stronger bonds too. When alone with someone, or around someone of importance to himself, his true personality may shine through. This involves him being reserved, avoiding eye contact, and even turning away so he doesn't see their face. In all honesty, he may be frightened to attempt to have a genuine relationship with few because he doesn't want to risk being rejected in the end. He feels it's easier to work with the masses, than to gain the trust and heart of a singular person with the bitter truth. Though, when Naito makes a true bond with someone he will not hesitate to put his life on the line to protect them. Playing this off as "protecting his possessions" he sincerely wishes for their safety. Those he truly care for will see his true personality, and his bluntness when encountering him. Hey may even go as far as seeking the life of someone who would endanger his comrades.

Surprisingly Naito has a sense of humor. Though it can come off as awkward or misplaced, he does find the oddest things as humorous which is strange, seeing how he is usually indifferent the majority of the day. Though rare in occasion, he does have moments of being a jokester when surrounded by people he actually enjoys.

In combat, Naito is brutal yet serene with his movements and attacks. He is confident in his swordplay and relies on it more than anything else. At some times he may get too confident and decide to take on an opponent without summoning his Persona to his side for assistance. Though Naito is confident in his swordplay skills, he does constantly train to make sure his skills continue to grow. It is his one true hobby and one of the only things that keep his mind focused off its usual cynical process. When encountering those who ridicule the use of a blade, Naito will make an effort to show them just how versatile and powerful a competent blade wielder can be. His expressions while handling a blade are completely neutral, if not calm. There is no hint of rage, anxiety, depression, happiness, or utter joy when slicing down an opponent. Instead, he is completely focused on the task at hand and blocks off the emotions that may come with combat. It is very rare for anyone to get a word out of him when in actual battle, but when they do his comments are usually witty, quirky, or condescending. Family Life

To keep it simple and short; Naito's family once believed him to be a monster. They were right, of course, but it left a bad taste in his mouth. After recent events he has rekindled his relationship with his family, though he still struggles to have a solid relationship with his commandeering Father. He hopes to join the family business and change it from the inside. Hopefully with his work, the Tsurinai Group will stop preying on the weak and will instead look to make everyone else stronger.

Thoughts regarding Shadows

Naito understands where Shadows come from and their potential. However he can not sit idly by and allow them to do whatever they'd like with humanity which made him choose his new profession with his family. Taking his job seriously, he hunts down dangerous Shadows while helping docile Shadow beings find their place amongst society.

The Background

History:

There was nothing special with Naito's birth. Even with his father leaving his mother, leaving her with a newborn, there was nothing special in the least. As a young child, Naito was always alittle bit different than the other kids. He had something very rare when compared to children his own age. This was called "Authentic Impulse." He was always self aware of how different he was which would always put a damper on his time when spending it with others. Since his mother was single at the time, she never could spend time with him because she needed to work to keep payments up for their home. This meant Naito was usually left alone, put in day cares, or being baby-sitted by the next door neighbor. Each person that watched him as a child would always tell his mother that he seemed different. She always brushed this aside until one day she got a report back from the school.

When going to pick up Naito, she was told by the teacher that he caused an accident for another student. His mother was of course confused. What could he have done? Well the teacher didn't have any proof, but she believed Naito had convinced the other student to slide down the slide face first. When the child was preparing to do it, she claimed Naito kicked the boy over the side without any remorse. The boy's mother couldn't exactly believe what she was hearing. In astonishment, she looked towards her child who was looking back with an innocent smile while playing with a toy train. There was no way this story was true. The mother would be sure never to bring him back to that day care.

As Naito grew older, he also grew in smarts. He no longer got caught when causing chaos for others, thanks to his charming qualities. His mother was too preoccupied with dating to even notice her son was becoming quite the bastard at such a young age. When she re-married his Father and forced Naito to move with her into his residence, it would be the first step of her gaining his hate.

Naito never expected the relationship between the two to last, but when he arrived he did find something interesting about the man. He had two daughters that would become the perfect test subjects for Naito's harsh ways. As the years went on, the boy would focus his attention on causing strife in his own family's affairs. To keep his mind off his brimming hatred of his family, he found himself a hobby. The first swordsmanship he had ever seen was on a television program for a new Dojo opening up in the area. His parents denied his interest in such a thing, fearing he'd use it to smite them. Behind their backs, however, the boy would sneak out to go to this dojo and take classes. Between this blatant disobey of orders and strife he caused around the house, his parents were slowly losing their patience with the young boy. It didn't take long for his father to send him away for school, just to get him out their hair. Being rather forced to live at the dorms, Naito has taken his attention and put it solely on his fellow classmates for now. However, if the situation arrives, he'd be ready to broaden his horizons.

After the situation in Ueitawa regarding the deaths and disappearances of many, Naito's view on society has changed drastically. Where he was once a cold shell, he has now accepted that some things can't be controlled alone. With the gaining of his Initial and Prime Persona, he also gained understanding. "The world can change by human hands if everyone is united as one."

Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Naito's views on society are quite cynical. He believes humans are inclined to wish the best upon themselves, before looking to help those around them. Even though he sees this trait as unbecoming, and rather disgusting, Naito has a potent interest in people. Though this interest usually translates to him wishing to control the actions of those around him, he does genuinely believe he loves and yearns to understand those around him. This yearning usually sets him on the path of creating bonds with others, simply to bend them to his will later on. Though not aware, he is a prime example of a wolf in sheep's clothing. Mixing himself in with the herd, he gains their trust only to lead them into the slaughter. With his manipulating ways, and words that lure in the foolish, Naito uses these poor "sheep" as stepping stones. He will openly go out of his way to prove to them how much he "loves" them. However, his definition of love is extremely flawed, and thus the ways he expresses his "love" is aswell. Seeing people as those who need to be cared for like ignorant children, Naito wishes nothing more than to guide them in his own image. This ambitious way of thinking certainly pushes him on the fast track to becoming an important figure in Japan in the future. His controlling nature, intelligence, and overall strive to dominate everything around him makes it seem as though he is a bad person. However, this makes him a valuable ally in the battle against Shadows, as he wouldn't want any of those "tar looking freaks" taking those that interest him.

He doesn't enjoy being second seat to anyone and would rather fight alone than to be controlled by someone else. This makes him very hard headed in teams, or social life, where he must follow the orders of an authority above himself. This mindset makes him work hard to be above the rest of his student body, which usually translates to good grades and amazing performances in After School Clubs. On the bad side, this mindset can get Naito in trouble with the law as he refuses to cooperate with anyone who orders him to do something. The amount of times his family has had to go to the police station to deal with his bad attitude has been numerous in his previous town because of this. When Naito comes across a situation he can't control, he doesn't lose his cool and goes berserk. However, he does lose his calm expression and replaces it with a stern look of discontent and disapproval. When things don't go his way, his friendly and playful tone turn into serious remarks that can be compared to an adult condescending children. Though he doesn't purposely wish to only surround himself with these types of people; his appearance and over all demeanor seems to attract them to his side. Being the type that wants to dominate those around him, Naito doesn't push these followers away and instead keeps them around. This "posse" is a prime example of how he wishes to twitch and tweak the puppet strings of the populace around him. His teachers see a promising future for him if he continues to apply himself. Constantly pushing him to go to college, he thinks nothing of it for the time being. His good grades come to him on a whim, more than actually working hard.

Family Life

Naito has a distinct hatred of Shadows and everything they stand for. Being someone who claims to "love" everyone; he can't stand the thought of these beings taking people for themselves. He sees it as the Shadows stealing his property from him, by taking people and devouring them. The student shows no mercy when dealing with Shadows, as they are only a speed bump in his goal to single handedly "love" everyone in Japan. Naito believes if anyone is going to take humanity down a peg, it should be himself and not abominations that lurk in the darkness of the subconscious.

Usually sporting a calm expression, even in the most difficult of times, people seem to have some trouble reading Naito's thoughts during a situation. Seeing how he is 99.99% frowning most of the time, people seem to mistake him as being upset most of the time. In actuality, his mind is always analyzing details and complex situations, no matter the time of day. Being one who doesn't wish to be second to anyone, he wears the aura of someone with the potential of being the "Number 1 man in Japan."

Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Naito's views on society are quite cynical. He believes humans are inclined to wish the best upon themselves, before looking to help those around them. Even though he sees this trait as unbecoming, and rather disgusting, Naito has a potent interest in people. Though this interest usually translates to him wishing to control the actions of those around him, he does genuinely believe he loves and yearns to understand those around him. This yearning usually sets him on the path of creating bonds with others, simply to bend them to his will later on. Though not aware, he is a prime example of a wolf in sheep's clothing. Mixing himself in with the herd, he gains their trust only to lead them into the slaughter. With his manipulating ways, and words that lure in the foolish, Naito uses these poor "sheep" as stepping stones. He will openly go out of his way to prove to them how much he "loves" them. However, his definition of love is extremely flawed, and thus the ways he expresses his "love" is aswell. Seeing people as those who need to be cared for like ignorant children, Naito wishes nothing more than to guide them in his own image. This ambitious way of thinking certainly pushes him on the fast track to becoming an important figure in Japan in the future. His controlling nature, intelligence, and overall strive to dominate everything around him makes it seem as though he is a bad person. However, this makes him a valuable ally in the battle against Shadows, as he wouldn't want any of those "tar looking freaks" taking those that interest him.

Controlling

Naito believes he must be in control of himself, his environment, and other people, at all times. He doesn't enjoy being second seat to anyone and would rather fight alone than to be controlled by someone else. This makes him very hard headed in teams, or social life, where he must follow the orders of an authority above himself. This mindset makes him work hard to be above the rest of his student body, which usually translates to good grades and amazing performances in After School Clubs. On the bad side, this mindset can get Naito in trouble with the law as he refuses to cooperate with anyone who orders him to do something. The amount of times his family has had to go to the police station to deal with his bad attitude has been numerous in his previous town because of this. When Naito comes across a situation he can't control, he doesn't lose his cool and goes berserk. However, he does lose his calm expression and replaces it with a stern look of discontent and disapproval. When things don't go his way, his friendly and playful tone turn into serious remarks that can be compared to an adult condescending children. His controlling nature is slowly turning into that of a Superiority Complex which makes him believe he is above his peers on all levels; which is why they should follow him. He will let no one get in the way of his goals to control the masses.

All or None

Naito has made a pledge to himself to treat everyone equally on his manipulation ladder. Thus, he attempts to close himself off from those he may find himself having stronger bonds too. When alone with someone, or around someone of importance to himself, his true personality may shine through. This involves him being reserved, avoiding eye contact, and even turning away so he doesn't see their face. In all honesty, he may be frightened to attempt to have a genuine relationship with few because he doesn't want to risk being rejected in the end. He feels it's easier to control the masses with lies, than to gain the trust and heart of a singular person with the bitter truth. Though, when Naito makes a true bond with someone he will not hesitate to put his life on the line to protect them. Playing this off as "protecting his possessions" he sincerely wishes for their safety. Those he truly care for will see his true personality, and his bluntness when encountering him.

Off Sense of Humor

Surprisingly Naito has a sense of humor. Though it can come off as awkward or misplaced, he does find the oddest things as humorous which is strange, seeing how he is usually frowning the majority of the day. Though rare in occasion, he does have moments of being a jokester when surrounded by people he actually enjoys.

Tranquil Rage of the Blade

In combat, Naito is brutal yet serene with his movements and attacks. He is confident in his swordplay and relies on it more than anything else. At some times he may get too confident and decide to take on an opponent without summoning his Persona to his side for assistance. Though Naito is confident in his swordplay skills, he does constantly train to make sure his skills continue to grow. It is his one true hobby and one of the only things that keep his mind focused off its usual cynical process. When encountering those who ridicule the use of a blade, Naito will make an effort to show them just how versatile and powerful a competent blade wielder can be. His expressions while handling a blade are completely neutral, if not calm. There is no hint of rage, anxiety, depression, happiness, or utter joy when slicing down an opponent. Instead, he is completely focused on the task at hand and blocks off the emotions that may come with combat. It is very rare for anyone to get a word out of him when in actual battle, but when they do his comments are usually witty or quirky. Perhaps this is from his confidence in his skills, but he may even mock his opponent if the situation calls for it. To make things even better; he may do moves he likes to call "style points" to show off during combat, just to show the potential of swordplay to others.

Upper Class Student

When in school Naito is usually surrounded by upperclassman, and those who can fall under the category of "wealthy". Though he doesn't purposely wish to only surround himself with these types of people; his appearance and over all demeanor seems to attract them to his side. Being the type that wants to dominate those around him, Naito doesn't push these followers away and instead keeps them around. This "posse" is a prime example of how he wishes to twitch and tweak the puppet strings of the populace around him. His teachers see a promising future for him if he continues to apply himself. Constantly pushing him to go to college, he thinks nothing of it for the time being. His good grades come to him on a whim, more than actually working hard.

Family Life

To keep it simple and short; Naito's family believes him to be a monster. Of course they're right, but it still bothers him. Though he doesn't have the best thoughts on his family, and he despises his step father and mother; Naito will step in to assist his siblings. When holiday breaks come, he avoids going home just to avoid the drama that may come with it. Naito isn't entirely sure why he antagonizes his parents, and why he has such a distinct dislike of them. Perhaps it's the fact they know too much about him, or that they are the only ones he can't control as they know his true nature.

Thoughts regarding Shadows

Naito has a distinct hatred of Shadows and everything they stand for. Being someone who claims to "love" everyone; he can't stand the thought of these beings taking people for themselves. He sees it as the Shadows stealing his property from him, by taking people and devouring them. The student shows no mercy when dealing with Shadows, as they are only a speed bump in his goal to single handedly "love" everyone in Japan. Naito believes if anyone is going to take humanity down a peg, it should be himself and not abominations that lurk in the darkness of the subconscious.

The Background

History:

There was nothing special with Naito's birth. Even with his father leaving his mother, leaving her with a newborn, there was nothing special in the least. As a young child, Naito was always alittle bit different than the other kids. He had something very rare when compared to children his own age. This was called "Authentic Impulse." He was always self aware of how different he was which would always put a damper on his time when spending it with others. Since his mother was single at the time, she never could spend time with him because she needed to work to keep payments up for their home. This meant Naito was usually left alone, put in day cares, or being baby-sitted by the next door neighbor. Each person that watched him as a child would always tell his mother that he seemed different. She always brushed this aside until one day she got a report back from the school.

When going to pick up Naito, she was told by the teacher that he caused an accident for another student. His mother was of course confused. What could he have done? Well the teacher didn't have any proof, but she believed Naito had convinced the other student to slide down the slide face first. When the child was preparing to do it, she claimed Naito kicked the boy over the side without any remorse. The boy's mother couldn't exactly believe what she was hearing. In astonishment, she looked towards her child who was looking back with an innocent smile while playing with a toy train. There was no way this story was true. The mother would be sure never to bring him back to that day care.

As Naito grew older, he also grew in smarts. He no longer got caught when causing chaos for others, thanks to his charming qualities. His mother was too preoccupied with dating to even notice her son was becoming quite the bastard at such a young age. When she re-married a man in Japan and forced Naito to move with her into his residence, it would be the first step of her gaining his hate.

Naito never expected the relationship between the two to last, but when he arrived he did find something interesting about the man. He had two daughters that would become the perfect test subjects for Naito's harsh ways. As the years went on, the boy would focus his attention on causing strife in his own family's affairs. To keep his mind off his brimming hatred of his family, he found himself a hobby. The first swordsmanship he had ever seen was on a television program for a new Dojo opening up in the area. His parents denied his interest in such a thing, fearing he'd use it to smite them. Behind their backs, however, the boy would sneak out to go to this dojo and take classes. Between this blatant disobey of orders and strife he caused around the house, his parents were slowly losing their patience with the young boy. It didn't take long for his step-father to send him away for school, just to get him out their hair. Being rather forced to live at the dorms, Naito has taken his attention and put it solely on his fellow classmates for now. However, if the situation arrives, he'd be ready to broaden his horizons.
