Hidden Terrors (User Mass Awakening 2)

"Ah, Mio-san. Hello."

Himura-San said in a not so happy tone but more concerning and worried about something that Mio didn't understand of course for the moment as she looked at Himura with an eyebrow raised. Within those few seconds she finally understood what Himura was talking about. Mio slowly turn her upper body around to watch the scenery begun to change and the colors begun to change miraculously. When all she can think within her head was "Oh Crap!", her heart begun to race at what might happen and her hand jumped from her side into her bag fishing for her phone. She listened to Himura spoke of moving toward the nearby bench jokingly, but she didn't know how much trouble there were up against.

"Himura...this isn't something to joke about....and why the bench?"

Mio hesitantly asked before throwing her head toward the bench while an upcoming whatever is soon to arrive. Then she noticed that they were moving...and she could even hear them speaking from affar. Looking back around at the frozen personal that was also in the fray must of put these three in the middle of something that they shouldn't be or start them on the same path that she took. But the only thing that was different was that she was alone.

"Ok yah! Himura-san we should head over to them."

She said with her hand still dragged within her bag she finally fished out her phone flipping it as she walked over to the bench and to those other two civilians that seems to be part of the fray. She opened her contact list and looked at the numbers of the other "Persona Users" and would just stare, would they arrive on time to help them or were they busy with their real lives that they don't have or isn't the right time to come forth and lend her hand. She hasn't really been productive with her part since she thinks that her real life is more but from watching this how can she look away much longer. She threw the phone back into her bag knowing that she might have to do this alone.

"Umm...Excuse me, you two. Do you know whats happening!?"

She asked knowing full well what was happening only to figure out if they knew as well and asses the situation from there. From Himura's facial expression she can surely tell that she didn't....for now.

Megumi couldn't help but agree with Kaihei on his statement. Shifting her sight from Kaihei, she noticed the female sitting on the bench stand up and leave. Perhaps this place was kinda too scary because of the rumors? Who knew. But that's when the things took a rather strange turn.

Sudden deep silence. It was the one where your mind goes "it's too quiet here". Then everything became crimson and lights flickered with eerie light green that makes you feel sick. "As much as I'd like this to be a dream, I think its not... I'm sure I haven't fallen asleep during today." her thoughts were racing. She never ecountered this... Whatever it was...

Meanwhile, Kaihei was pretty pissed and seemed to be eager to go back or go somewhere else, at the very least. Normally she would agree, her mind and common sense were screaming at her, but for some reason she wanted to know how could have this happened. As if somebody was pulling her tie, wanting to show her their secret place...

However, her train of thoughts was interrupted by a pair of girls approaching them with an obvious question. And Megi wished she knew the answer. "Hello there. Well, I wish I could answer you, alas, I cannot. I get a bad feeling, though..." she answered truthfully, looking around, noticing few zombie-like people. As if they - the 4 high school kids - were meant to be here.

Okay, maybe getting out of there was a moot point by now. Kaihei hated to admit that, but since everything started to gain that greenish glow and all, it was damn hard to see. He found no need to answer to the two females that came over a moment before, as Megumi already took care of that anyway. As if it mattered, whether they knew or not. It was obvious that this wasn’t going to be a walk in the park either way. On the other hand…perhaps he should say something. The last thing he needed was those two girls gang up on him too. ‘’Whatever it is, it better be lucky that I don’t.’’, he said, trying to at least sound as if it was no big deal. But he wasn’t stupid. Some serious shit was definitely going down around here.

As if on cue, he heard some strange noise that he couldn’t identify, but at that moment he couldn’t care less, as the shapes that were forming somewhere near sort of suggested that he did not even want to know what those sounds meant. Well, whatever the hell they were, it sucked, and bad. This was even weirder than nightmares, and that was something to say. ‘’Ugh, damn this….Isn’t there like something we can do?’’, Badass and all was cool, but this probably wasn’t the best time for it. At least not until he knew a way out of this abnormality.

‘Of course there’s something, there always is. You shalt just show courage and not wimp out. Ahaha, easy to understand, right?....Afterall, thou art I…and I am thou…’

…Alright, now he was even hearing weird voices inside his head. And funnily enough, that voice was pissing him off even more than the strange blobs of whatever. He was NOT wimping out. Whoever it was to assume that was going to pay….after he’d deal with…this… ‘’Er, well? Now what?’’, he’d ask the other teens, starting to get confused on top of all of it.

The green fog did it. She was panicking and there was little she could do about it. Even with three other people about her she was alone, they were all going to die there was no way-

'Calm thyself.'

An eerie calm settled over her. It was probably the calm of shock though it could also be something else. Either way, she was thinking, but not the thoughts that were panic inducing. No, these were the war strategies that she didn't even know she knew but somehow knew. She didn't know why she was calculating for eight though...

'There are allies in spades. After all, thou art I and I am thou.'

There was a shiver down her spine, but it was a good shiver. The pressure was there, crushing her chest and making her feel weightless. She shoved down a giggle and stepped closer to her friends. "Mio-san, you and I shall deal with the one on the left. Please, though I don't know your names, take the ones on the left. I am sure that with our Personas, we can take both of them on." Personas? Where did that word come from? Whatever it was, she knew that without a shadow of a doubt, it was a real thing and she wasn't crazy.

Strange gurgling sounds caught Megi's attention. But when she tried to  the source of it, odd green mist blocked her vision. "What on earth...!"

Mist turning into fog, she could make out inhuman shapes, approaching them. As curious as she was this was just a bit too much. She had no idea how to deal with such situation. "I am thou, thou art me. Open thy eyes and see the truth!"
Now voices inside of her head... Everything was getting more strange by every moment. But somehow, she felt alright after the voice spoke up. Then one of the girls already took an initiative. She seemed to know what's going on. Megi had no time to think about that, though. The figures were pretty close to them now, leaving no time for standing around. "You ready, blokes?"

With how everything was going she could only assume that things would go down hill from here. And she was left to think that she was the only person here able to summon her persona. Having never seen them using or be apart of the situation similar to their own what else was she left to think. Tighting her fists as they begun to discuss their knowledge of the situation Mio could see what she was left to think as the the area became more serious as the scene changed from just red to having green thin smoke suddenly engulf the area in its smog presenting two shadows that appear out of nowhere.

Along with that Nanami-San suddenly was brought up with a stern sense of courage from out of nowhere. Since Mio assumed that she also wasn't a Persona User, with her sudden outbreak of using persona as a weapon she's been able to use hers.

"Nanami-San I appreciate your enthusiasm but...without thinking first we'd just be wasting our time and probably placing ourselves in a worst situation."

Mio spoke worryingly as she looked around, thinking that this might just be a situation where Limbo has broken out of its own world and flowed into theirs. Looking back toward the group and Nanami's little show it seemed that it was the only option.

"Ugh...guess we have no choice. Well if your going to bring it up, have you attempted to summon your persona?"

She asked in a more serious tone, since if they don't know how to use them, they would just put her in a position that could lead to one of them getting hurt or worse. Hopefully the shadows would either take their time with them as they get themselves together.

Heh, the bad stuff never takes its time, right? It did seem everyone was pretty courageous, even though they were facing some sort of otherwordly creatures. Kaihei wasn't too happy about this, but alas, there was no choice, as the weird colored surroundings and all were suggesting, and let's not even start with the voice in his head that he heard before. Some of the girls were speaking about things called 'Personas', but he didn't pay them much mind, his attention focused more onto the strange blobs ahead of them.

Before he could try and make them shut up and focus on the problem instead, another voice rang in his head. This one seemed to be actually explaining the Persona thingy, asking them to call it out? And those monsters were apparently Shadows. That, Kaihei had to admit was at least fitting, even though he was sure he didn't like them already, which wasn't really surprising, as he rarely took a liking to something anyway. And seriously, those were monsters there, so it was a moot point in the first place. Who would like those?

Hm, he wondered over the voice for a bit. What exactly did the strange entity mean by calling the Persona forth? That was a little vague, at least he thought so.

'How about thou just do it? I don't enjoy waiting. Come on...'

That annoying voice from before was back, and Kaihei sighed this time. Well, what he was to do, when everyone kept asking for the same thing. So, might as well try...


Raising his hand, a shiny blue card of the Emperor appeared, shattering in an azure light, as he spoke bluntly. ''Well, come on out, Garm!'' The crimson red, two tailed hound, growled loudly as it materialized from the light, its eyes narrowing towards the two Shadows angrily. Lounging forward a bit, it would send a a respectable amount of spikes from its heavy metal collar, attempting to pierce those Shadows that dared stand in its way.

''This actually looks sorta cool...''

Hearing the voice in her head, watching the boy summon the... thing, it was almost enough to stun Nanami into inaction.

Almost.

Confidence flowed through her veins like blood, she didn't deign to answer Mio. No, she had never summoned her Persona, she hadn't known what a persona was until thirty seconds ago but she knew what she needed to do. A card floated before her, not the one the boy summoned but a different one. One with an eye and a lantern and Nanami knew that this was the sign of the Hermit. The lonely old man who waited at the top of the mountain, beckoning all to join him in introspection.

"Imhotep!" That one word spilled out of her and behind her was a light. She dared not look back to see what the thing looked like, but it probably wasn't pretty. It didn't feel pretty, whatever it was that it was doing. But she was not alone in this fight and that was... pretty amazing.

Another voice followed the first one. This one seemed different, though. This one explained what was happening right before their eyes, and Megi appreciated that. It felt good to be updated on information. "So Persona, huh...?" the other girl actually mentioned such word before...

However, this wasn't the right time nor place to ponder about that. A battle was upon them. Kaihei and one of the girls already let loose of their "Personas" and attacked the figures. Now it was time for Megumi to unleash her power. Doing what the second voice said, she reached out into her soul, summoning forth her own Persona. "Hermes!"

Mio didn't know what to do in the situation but it seems that everyone else only thought of one thing and that was to strike down the shadows in front of them without any plan or thought as to what will happen next in the fray. Assuming that they were all new to the situation or just holding out on her not knowing that she was able to fight along side them. Each one of them summoned upon their persona's commanding them to strike at the two shadows that was in front of them. She couldn't tell of their strengths to think of weaknesses but if they were the low leveled slime monster that she's fought before she would be able to use hama and defeat them both without a second thought but what about them. The newbies wouldn't learn anything from just watching her now a single guess that could place them in a worse situation.

She decided to take a step back while she watched the others and their persona's attacked the two shadows and see what their strengths were for the future to come.

Soon after him, the rest of the individuals gathered, minus one girl that chose to just watch them, summoned those strange creatures called Personas and attempted to attack the Shadows as well, or something different in case of one, but Kaihei had no idea what it was supposed to be. Either way, it seemed that no one besides him had managed to hit their enemy, wich sorta sucked. He had to admit that the effects accompanying this were cool, but it was an obvious conclusion that it wouldn't be good if the Shadows got the upper hand. And they indeed appeared to have nasty tricks up their sleeves. That fire blast was hot as hell, and he didn't like it one bit. The levitating Shadow's attack was even worse, as that thing went over to hit him. Kaihei was sure that from now on, he disliked slimy stuff with passion. The others were lucky to only get cooked over a bit.

Hm, that last attack his Persona did was pretty neat, but he wanted to see if there was anything else it could do. And so, Garm would swish its two tails in the direction of the Shadows, sending a wave of electricity, for a good shock measure. 'Let's see how they like this then...'

Nanami shrieked in agony as the flames licked at her skin, but left no mark. She fell to her knees and shivered weakly. Why had the girl not helped? Why was she going to let her comrades die like this? "Mio-san..." Nanami heard herself gasping out before coughing, sputtering and useless on the ground.
