The soft sound of little feet hitting the sand could be heard if one was listening close enough. Although this noise would be nothing new to anybody paying any attention the last few hours. Like usual Cherry was exploring one of the dead zones Paris had to offer her, what wasn't usual was that her guardian was not with her at the moment. No, much to the little girl's dismay she was striking it out on her own this time. The heat of the Dryrange was simply too much for her weary mother's old bones, so it was up to Cherry to go out and find food for tonight's meal. And seeing as this was a desert her quest was not going too well. There was no fruit or plants, other then the odd cacti, in sight. She couldn't spot any animals either, not like she'd actually be able to bring anything big down. Her physical strength left alot to be desired and her mother only gave her a small box cutter as a weapon, both to defend herself and to fight and kill any animal she saw.
The young lady tired her best to keep her hopes high, but it was slowly dawning on her that it maybe one of those days where she comes back home empty handed and ends up disappointing her mom. But she couldn't allow that to happen, shr wanted to make her mother proud! Bring food back for the both of them, or at the very least be able to give some food to her mama. She wasn't going to give up that easy and it seemed as if her willpower was soon rewarded, since as she continued to wander aimlessly around the desert, only stopping to check if the footprints left in the sand was still visable. She spotted a man, or at the very least a boy older them she was. He was a little ways away from her, so unless he actually looked where she was currently standing he wouldn't know that the small blonde was even there. The first thing that came to mind was to try and talk to him, try and see if there was anything she could do to trade some food and water. But then she remembered what her mother said about talking to strangers.
She started to try and think of something else to do. This man could very well have some supplies on him, if she could just get some then she and her mom will be okay. But since her mom wouldn't approve of her daughter actually speaking with the red head, she was only left with one object. She had to try and steal from him. Cherry was quite uncomfortable with this plan, after all stealing was bad and she didn't want to be a bad person. Plus if she got caught she really only had one chance to stab and make a run for it, this guy was clearly much stronger then her, probably quicker then her too. But......... This was for her mom. And stealing to feed her mom couldn't be a bad thing to do right? Besides she would only take when they needed, so it really wouldn't be that bad. After the girl made the action she was about to perform not seem quite as wrong to herself, she began to stalk the red head. Tracking his every moment and trying to see what he was doing and if he was going to lay down or place some bag or any items on the ground.......... And she was horrible at it.
She did her best to be quiet, but the sounds of tiny little footsteps could be heard by a average man with no trouble at all, let alone somebody with higher then average senses. Plus if he ever turned around, the girl would either rush to the nearest cover and hide behind that. Or throw herself on to her stomach and bury her face in the sand, almost like she was under the childish impression that if she couldn't see him, that meant that he wouldn't be able to see her. This really wasn't a question of 'did the man know he was being followed' and more of a question about what is he going to do about it?
