Appearance: Lenore's appearance is modeled after an elegant young woman. She is 170cm (5'6'') tall, with a thin build, modest chest, and a pale skin color. Her most distinctive facial features are her striking red eyes and her slightly pointy nose. Hew face is often framed by two strands of black hair, the rest of which is tied into a bun, as to not interfere with her duties. Her normal outfit consists of simple black fabrics, joined by a pair of black leather gloves and a labcoat while she is working. Two pouches on her belt serve as containers for whatever she needs to carry with her at the moment - usually either a book or a scalpel.

Personality: Cold, aloof and reserved, Lenore's main focus in life is her duties as a mortician. She has a rather nihilistic view on life, stemming both from her experience and her status as an ASSW. As a result, she often has trouble empathising with others. However, despite initial appearances, she is far from emotionless, having a propensity for gallows humor, and enjoying literature and music, even picking her name from a poem by Edgar Allan Poe. And, while she doesn't understand why, a small part of her still wishes to protect residents of Vault Olympia from coming to harm.

The Background

History: Lenore's (or, to be more precise, Unit LN-04's - that was her identificator at creation) earliest memories are fragmented. The parts she remembers contain multiple test launches, conversations with scientists, data dumps and brief forays to the outside - all part and parcel of developing a sense of self-awareness in an artificial creation. The literature she read sticks out in her memory the most - she chose her current name during that formative period, finding it similar to her official identification number, and those books continue to inform her personality and sense of self in many ways.

Around the Fall is when her memories turn into a continuous stream. She was assigned to Vault Olympia, given the appropriate training for a mortician, and installed in that role the day the Vault was opened for refugees. She was forced to perform her duties on the very next day, when a man that was trampled while trying to reach the inside succumbed to his injuries. By Lenore's own accessment, she performed admirably, though some of the dwellers started to give her wary looks after the fact.

The looks (and, later, the whispers) never really went away, most dwellers wanting nothing to do with the "creepy corpse robot". Luckily, the feeling was mutual - Lenore much preferred the company of a book or a music album. So, as the time in the sealed vault went on, Lenore settled into a comfortable, solitary existence rarely disturbed by what occured within the vault. She read, philosophised, and performed her duties just as admirably as before.

And so it went for almost forty years, up until something finally happened to pull her away from her lab - the opening of Vault Olympia.
