Site Redesign

Given the Change of Scenery and Storyline, I figured it is time for a visual Redesign of New Arcana.

I have a friend who I'm planning to commission when it comes to stuff like a Site Logo, background, user interface and all that. He's a Graphic Designer, so it'll come out real nice methinks.

But... I'm asking you all: What kind of Color Scheme would you prefer to see on the site? Sound off with your ideas! I'd personally like something that fits the Post-apocalyptic Setting of Paris, 2054, but that's just me. :>

A healthy shade of pink on everything!

(Real answer, I suggest black and blue, as the they both make each other pop in my option.)

I don't think my sense of aesthetics is amazing, but I definitely second that one of the colors should be black, or at least a really dark shade. We don't want a light mode here I don't think, so best avoid choosing a theme that only uses light colors. Nobody wants to blind themselves while browsing the site.

I'm not sure there's any color scheme that specifically fits a post-apocalyptic setting? Maybe if you went for a full on dark color combo instead of picking one bright color to pop the same way we have red right now, but it depends on how gloomy we want the site to look I guess. Maybe a bit of monochrome with greys? A lack of color can convey a more desolate vibe. It's honestly hard to say what will look actually good.

Quite frankly I do like a black background, muted colors, or colors that are easy on the eye and font large enough I don't have to squint at. As long as it isn't too loud or has clashing colors and crazy font, I can go pretty much with anything.

Hot Take
If we go with black and grey to symbolise the dead world I think that would diminish the uniqueness of the site and make us look like those other Persona rp sites you know


General Design
I would be against a minimalistic approach. We've always been more colorful than that and I like it that way. If we wanna invoke Paris, it might be nice to have it start as nice brickwork with flowers on it at the bottom, then move up into a sort of more hellish design. I'd combine pastel greys and greens with muted bordeaux and black tones at the top. This is generic enough for it to not only invoke the Paris setting but also apply to general SMT/Persona. If we add butterflies and maybe some edgy dude leaning against the wall it's just ggwp at that point.


Logo & Banner
Honestly again I would refrain from making it ONLY about your plot. It needs to be generic enough and inviting to a regular Persona fan without stifling any creativity plot creators in the future will want to put out. So just keep that in mind. If we put characters from this plot into the banner it will just look weird to newcomers. That's why we've always used Persona chars or motifs that reflect our current direction (like for Endy we introduced the current edgy P5-inspired theme since that was fitting). With the apocalyptic setting you might wanna play around with something more SMT in nature and combining it with Persona motifs. Too basic a banner will also just be weird. It needs to poke ya in the eye and make ya stay.

You can still make it look unique while using blacks and greys. I say make the background a monochromatic greyed out city skyline with various designs of the regions you designed in the foreground. When you put the foreground designs in, you should put some color in that matches the regions.
While the banner should be something a little bit more simplistic with Persona/SMT motifs and (obviously) a revamped title design.
