"I suppose it isn't a party unless someone's fashionably late," Autumn addressed Sonia and Hugo, smiling wanly as the two brought their own personas to bear, quite the impressive display. "I apologize for dragging you two into this, but it's nice of you to join us." Protesilaus echoed her statement, acknowledging the twin personas taking up the entryway with a nod. "Lord Agreus and Lord Talos. What a pleasant surprise, meeting the both of you here." Autumn felt like a hand that wasn't hers guided her actions now, the winds in the hallway picking up as she prepared to do battle with the demons already beginning to relentlessly push into the space.

With the trio fully awakened, the Demons assaulted the Vault head on. More Defense Drones were deployed, and started dispatching the lesser threats with relative success... However, a larger threat approached the three freshly awoken users... A Four-legged, ragged looking beast which was much larger than all the other demons, though it didn't seem to hold much in terms of influence over its peers. In fact, it seemed subservient to some of the others.

As the horde began to push into the bottleneck that was the hallway, one in particular caught Autumn's attention - a vicious, beast like demon that quickly snapped, snarled and pushed its way to the forefront of its cohorts. Her system began to run with many scrolling expositions and warnings regarding the demon's threat level and dimensions that, in summary, amounted to "very large, and potentially quite dangerous on top of that." The android wasted no time in lunging forward with her blade in the hopes of creating an opening, allowing her programming to steer her motions with mechanical efficiency.

"Autumn! Here!" Hugo placed his hand on Autumn's shoulder, it glowing a bright white color, before a mass of rocks began to grow out of his skin. These rocks would latch themselves onto Autumn, essentially acting as makeshift armor. "They're counting on us. We cannot let Vault Olympia down!"
Gunfire surrounded them as the remaining Drones exited their charging pods and opened fire on the remaining demons, leaving Hugo, Sonia and Autumn to deal with the biggest Demon by themselves. "YAAAAAAH!" The giant Talos clenched its fists and drove them straight at the Demon in an attempt to strike it.

Talos strikes the beast with all of it's might, dropping it to it's knees in a single strike. Alas, her second hit missed, but that didn't matter. The beast was exposed, its guard lowered. "You are GOING DOWN! Get outta here!"

Autumn danced away from the resilient demon to a cadence of rapid gunshots fired by her fellow machines and noting how her blade was simply deflected by the jagged, scaly hide of the demon, already calculating a new angle of attack as she hopped backwards to rejoin her compatriots. The android watched as Talos struck a mighty blow that caused the large demon to stumble, then joined Hugo and Sonia as they charged into the gap, sending it reeling before it managed to gain a foothold once more and coming away alive but not quite unscathed.
Autumn nodded in acknowledgement of Hugo as he provided additional protection with his abilities, hastily patching the scratches she had sustained - before said protection was blown apart by a volley of glass-like crystalline shards, which Autumn parted with a sharp blast of wind directed at the roaring demon.

ONCE MORE!
The demon staggered under the force of the stinging gust Protesilaus released, a grim sort of satisfaction reverberating alongside various equations running parallel to each other in Autumn's mind, the android not wasting a second in plunging her blade towards the beast once more.

The Beast staggers from all the punishment it has taken, groaning in pain before collapsing in front of the trio. The Beast of Saint-Denise falls before the might of Vault Olympia's defenders. The battle is over.
PvS Combat Phase is over. Duty Complete Everyone earns 80 EXP, and 2000 Vc. Fate has changed course. Vault Olympia is safe... for now.
Shuffle Time:

"Look, guys! The demons! They're retreating!" Hugo pointed towards the cast of demons running for the Vault door. The drones, and the Vaults own defenders proved to be too much for a force this small to handle. It was evident that whoever had ordered this attack had not expected much resistance. "Phew... We did it. We actually did it!" Sonia looked rather exhausted herself, but pleased with how well they had faired. They had successfully defended Vault Olympia. But one problem still remained.
"Wait a second... How're we supposed to close the vault?" She looked over to Hugo, who shrugged in turn. "How am I supposed to know? You know I don't work in security!" They both turned to Autumn. She was a robot... surely she knew how. "Got any ideas, Autumn? We can't just leave it open like this..." Her eyes then fell upon the control room near the door. "Hold on... What if the controls are here?" She ran inside, closely followed by Hugo. "Well, damn. Whoever that guy was really didn't want us to close huh..." The entire keycard assembly had been pryed open, and the circuitry was completely fried. "Surely there's an emergency shutdown somewhere, right? We can't just leave it like this..." Talos knelt down beside the control room, being too large to fit inside. "There is something you can do, Sonia. Look deep within..." The giant spoke quietly, despite its size. "Look within, huh..." Sonia called upon something she never even knew she had, and produced a small, black key. "What's this...?" She looked about as confused as Hugo. Although after holding it for a while, it soon dawned upon her what its function was. She stuck it inside Keycard Scanner, the black key simply going through solid steel as if it wasn't there. The Vault Door would slowly shut after a while, giving of the faintest blue glow to people with the Potential. "There. It's locked. Anyone or Anything with the intent to harm the people inside our Vault will be locked out. At least for now... Anyone else can enter or leave as they please." She smiled at Hugo, who just looked confused. "But why not just lock it?! For everyone! I mean, wouldn't that be safer?" Sonia shook her head, looking rather serious. "Don't you see, Hugo? We have an incredible opportunity here. The surface... We can leave. We have the power to fight the demons! We can take back the surface!" Hugo looked at Autumn, as if begging her to tell Sonia to see reason. "I-I get that, but..."
"But what, Hugo? We might be the only ones out there who can strike back at those things. We should try to prevent more monsters from attacking Olympia, or any other vault! Besides... there might be people up there on the surface who needs shelter. We can at least provide for a few survivors, right? I just..." Sonia bit her lip. "You know our father's out there too. He needs us! Come on, Hugo... You can't let me do this all by myself..."

Soul Skill Name: Master Key Persona Name: Talos Tier: Tier 1 Cost: 4 SP Type of Damage: N/A Description: Sonia conjures forth a small, black key from nothing, which can be used to either lock, or unlock any door within her reach. She can control who gets in or out of doorways touched by the Master Key. Doors that are locked through other magical means are however protected from the Master Key's function.

As the rush of combat faded and the demon disintegrated into inky particles that quickly scattered to the wind, Autumn felt Protesilaus retreat further into her mindscape, leaving her grasping at air, silently begging him not to leave her alone with her failure - prayers that would fall on deaf ears as he promptly went silent, quietly mocking her from his perch in her mindscape as the strength he granted her dissipated, leaving her broken and without purpose once more. She stood, silent for a moment, before she felt Sonia and Hugo's eyes on her once again, looking at her for an answer she didn't quite have. The android strode lightly over to the control panel, prying it open and poking at the circuitry, quickly withdrawing her hand when a shower of sparks singed it.
"It seems whoever broke this was very thorough," She muttered grimly, drumming her fingers on the smoking console as if in thought. "I'm not even sure it's salvageable." Autumn then looked up from underneath the sparking console, inclining her head in curiosity as Sonia produced an odd key and ran it through the seemingly useless interface, the door noisily grinding shut as she did so. "Lovely." She murmured as Sonia proudly explained how she had done such a seemingly impossible thing before she promptly started bickering with her twin again.
As if tuning the two out even though Hugo almost seemed to be relying on her to keep his sister in check, Autumn stepped through the door as if compelled by someone else who spurred her to see the surface.
Sheets of crystalline glass in every colour in the spectrum brushed the horizon, shrouding what must have been buildings in layers of shimmering material. The glassy spires, lancing through the sky like great spears rising up to meet the horizon were captivating, and it took a moment for words to awkwardly tumble from her mouth in response. "It's wonderful..."

Excuse the Long Wait:
So, as you may have been aware of, I have been sick for the past few days. Stuck in fever and all that. I haven't really had the energy to post or do anything regarding the site, so I apologize for the lack of posts. I'll rectify this as fast as I am able. Might take a few days to truly catch up. So focus on Social linking and This plot thread until I feel like I've caught up with everything. :>

"Ugh, it's just three of us! Think about it, Sonia! What are us three going to really accomplish?" Hugo bit back in equally frustrated fashion. "A lot more than just sitting here on our thumbs doing nothing." She sighed, before following Autumn outside. Might as well see what the world outside was like, and oh... she wasn't prepared.
She walked through the closed vault door as if it wasn't even there, before her gaze fell upon the streets of Old Saint-Denise. Towering highrises, small buss-stops, signs and everything remained untouched, preserved in eternity within a layer of glass and crystal. Looking around, it was almost as if time itself had stopped. There were people running for their lives, children hiding behind their parents, masked people throwing molotov cocktails, and armed riot police... this was a moment of the 2016 Riots, captured in time for all eternity. Not even the burning cars or buildings escaped the glassing. Even the fires themselves were preserved. "What in the..." Sonia whispered breathlessly, shocked and taken aback by the visceral beauty the Fields of Glass had. It really was like standing in the middle of a snapshot... a photograph. Nothing could've prepared her for this. "Hey Sonia I wasn't..." Hugo had followed them both outside, and his voice fell just as flat as Sonia's had the moment his eyes gazed upon the bizarre scene. "These poor people..." Sonia mumbled lowly, looking at a rather distressed, red-headed woman, who had been running away from something. Something she had seen while everyone else had been busy with the ongoing riots. From the looks of things, the glassing must've been instant, as no one besides this woman seemed to have any idea about what was going on. The expression of terror on that woman's face had etched itself deep within Sonia. This was the reality they had been avoiding for all these years. The reality for those whom had not been fortunate enough to find a vault. "You think... they're still alive?" Hugo asked, his voice shaky, as he looked closer at one of the rioters. "...I... doubt it. This... this happened long before either of us were born, Hugo." She had turned her attention towards an advertisement for a movie, hoisted within one of the buss-stops. "See this? April 25th, 2016. That's..." Hugo swallowed. "Just a few months before the Vaults were sealed."
"Autumn... lets go back. I don't like it here, and it's getting late." Sonia pleaded. She felt both extremely exhausted and uncomfortable looking at what was going on around her, and Hugo felt largely the same. Drained and tired. Autumn might've not suffered the same amount of fatigue, given her status as an android, but the effect would still be there. It would be difficult for even her to focus, much less get out and explore straight away. "We have time tomorrow... we should go out then. Unless you want to go now. Just know, the door's open."

An entirely alien expanse stretched before the trio of persona users, the morbidly beautiful horrors of the fall laid before them in the form of a long lost moment of time preserved permanently in sheets of iridescent glass. Beyond the sobering tapestry of corpses and glass woven to paint a picture of the distant past golden sunlight brushed the skyline, creeping over high-rises and the unnervingly pristine bodies. It was a barren, lifeless reminder of what had once been, of the harsh reality of the surface, a sea of infinitesimal reminders of what had been lost.
The sun was drained from the sky, like water emptying from a basin, moment by moment. The absence of such a light left a void, a nothingness that ate away at the substance of the sky as its edges were colored by change. Fear lived in this void, an invisible spectre present on the faces of Sonia and Hugo both, a void that consumed all and cast all that remained into darkness.
She watched the sunlight fade, and with it her vigor, leaving her with nothing but emptiness and reminders of her failure, phantom, bitter tears she was incapable of shedding lingering behind her eyelids as she turned away from the spectacle.
"...yeah." Autumn muttered dejectedly before ducking past the door again so that Sonia and Hugo wouldn't see her face before she left them both to their horrified vigil.
