March 17th, 2054, Parisian Desolation, France.

"My father used to tell me stories about what the world was like back before the Collapse. Stories of our trip to the moon, and the very first steps taken on Mars. How we were dead set on colonizing the moon, and from there, the stars. He used to be a scientist working for the Halcyon Collective back in his youth, long before I was born. Now I stand here, looking over a destroyed Paris. My dad... he used to show me pictures of what this place was like. People used to walk around freely on the streets, Children laughing... Now all I see is the dead husk of a forgotten age.

The United States was first to fall, according to my father. I was still too young to remember any of it... Once the French Government heard tale of America's collapse, our president ordered everyone to seek shelter within the various vaults built by the Halcyon Collective. These Vaults served as a precautionary measure in case of a Nuclear Holocaust, although at the time, people thought they'd be unnecessary. And they were proven wrong. It didn't take long for the disaster to reach European Soil, and France was the first to get hit with the invasion. We stood powerless before the Demons and Shadows, and France fell within a few days.

We've been stuck in here since, within the sprawling confines of the Vaults, and for as long as I can personally remember, this is all I've known..."
