Boing Boing (Lupin/Mallory Interaction)

"Wow, some of these places sure look neat I mean look at all this bouncing room." Lupin is bouncing about on his red pogo stick taking in the sights of East Eden bouncing along one of the roads.
"Some much Green here it certainly reminds me of home." "I wonder what school will be like once I start school." As Lupin was bouncing he heard a strange squeaking coming from his pogo stick. "Oh dear, it has been a while since I done maintenance." Lupin got off his pogo stick and started to examine his beloved pogo stick.

Another day, another morning that had yet to see the destructive passion that was Mallory Lucklace. Stepping out onto the grass in front of her home and place of employment, the girl grinned, stretching out as if having only just woken. Clad in a black skirt, and a white hoody with a pink skull, she quickly flipped sunglasses over her eyes, feet wearing the greatest catastrophe of all; socks and sandals.

So, going for a walk as the fashion abomination she was, Mallory stepped around East Eden with a spring in her step, whistling happily to herself before a single word uttered by a stranger caught her attention, a seeming glint of intrigue appearing as in a hurry she rushed over to the pogo stick stranger. "Excuuuuuuuuuse me! Did you happen to... Say maintenance?"

Clearly startled Lupin turned to her in shock and after quickly examining the individual Lupin quickly deduced he is talking to a person who thinks sock and sandals is ok to wear. Ignoring this crime to fashion Lupin quickly responded. "Yes I did say maintenance I probably shouldn't be saying that stuff out loud but yep I definitely no doubt about it said maintenance."

"You wouldn't happen to know how to fix a pogo stick, would you?" Lupin has curious look on his face. "Every time my pogo stick bounce it keeps making a dreadful squeaking sound." Lupin holds his pogo stick like a blacksmith who is presenting his work to a knight or a king.

At the confirmation that the stranger did indeed say maintenance, and their ever so foolish question on whether Mallory could fix it, a wild grin that could frighten the devil itself spread across the girl's lips. As the stranger held out their ride to the crazy girl, she took it gracefully in her hands, carressing it for a moment and looking it over, turning the pogo over in her hands and inspecting it in the light. This continued for a few minutes, unless the stranger were to stop her, before the girl shook her head, sighing, and handing it back.

"Right. Good news and bad news. The good news is it doesn't NEEEEEEED much maintanance if you want to get it back up to useable standards. Steel springs could probably use a bit of replacing. The bad news? Dude, your pogo stick SUCKS! Like damn! This thing needs a replacement of the steel spring with a thermoplastic cylinder stat! Stainless steel and compressed air will give you some suuuuuper high bounce time, and while it'll mean you need to repair it more, you could make the bottom of the pogo hard surfaced to make it repel from the ground at a faster and more violent rate. Get some real height on this puppy! Lucky for you, I am Mallory von Lucklace, engineer entrepaneur extraordinair! Follow my advice, and you'll be pogo sticking your way above the moon before you know it!"

Pointing a thumb at herself with a pose of pure bravado, the girl added. "Disclaimer, Mallory von Lucklace is not responsible for any difficulties you have. Further any injuries are not accountable to Mallory von Lucklace. If you're lame and want the normal approach, just use some rust remover and your springs will be good as new. Cola is a good cheap option if you're low on cash."

Lupin seems quite shocked about this statement about how his pogo stick sucked but then remember the fact he had the thing for about 12 years at this stage, so perhaps upgrading wasn't a bad idea plus what can go wrong Lupin quietly thought to himself then he begins to say something to the stranger Mallory, who's creepy smile didn't really help the situation.


"OK, that is really good to know. Thank you but Miss Lucklace you mentioned upgrades I as much I would like that for my pogo stick how much are you going to charge me for upgrades?"


Lupin was hoping that by acting concerned about his wallet he might get a cheaper upgrade although he might be pushing it a little, Lupin seemed to really like the idea that Mallory presented.

"Oh my name is Lupin, by the way, Lupin Topplson pogo dude I just moved to Endymion recently." Lupin tilted head towards his pogo stick. "I might not be able to pay but I will do one prank on someone of your choice if can upgrade my pogo stick please." Lupin holds out his pogo stick showing he was willing to let Mallory tinker with it.
"Oh one more thing." Lupin paused for a second as figuring out he was going to word his next sentence. " you wouldn't happen to know where I can find a really cheap place to eat like I said before I don't have much money on me at the moment." Lupin looking a bit embarrassed that he had to divulge that info. Lupin had the bright idea of not bringing any food with him as they would get ruined by all the bouncing he does.

Waiting impatiently for Lupin to finish talking, not wanting to interrupt him, but at the same time making note of every instance she wanted to reply to or say about to blurt it out all at once, the girl was silent, before, with a light exhale, she began to speak, words flowing like a broken dam, and not shutting up until she was done.

"Right! To address all your stuff and questions and statements at once mister Lupin, first up, welcome to Endymion City! Haven, with more to do than things not to do! But, giving a sales pitch is like, government and media's job, so, ignore that! As for charging for upgrades, of course I am! As much as I love doing upgrades, dismantling, and reassembly into superior models, I can't just do it for free! At the very least there's the logistics behind having to get the specific materials, and in this case, it would be heavily compressed air... Ooo, or perhaps pure oxygen for an even greater bounce, although I guess that might have explosive risk... Bah, anyways! As much as I appreciate the idea of a prank on someone, I'd need to use my bosses tools for the job of upgrading, and so to actually do that would probably get on my boss guy's nerves, you know? No hard feelings though, I totally get where you're coming from, I mean, pranks can be freaking great! Ah, also, as for places to eat, there aren't the most in East Eden specifically, but different places have tonnes of places. Backlight District, Little Tokyo, and Vista Square probably have exactly what you're looking for on cheapness, although I'm pretty sure there's an Alabama Fried Chicken about 30 minutes walk from here, and a McRonalds about 50 minutes away if you're willing to take the hike. They aren't the cheapest of cheap cheap places, but, well, they're cheaper than gormet, and that stuff goes quick enough that you can just get it and run, or, pogo in your case. So! That answer your questions buddy Lupin man guy dude?"

"Ok then well, I guess I will starve instead whats the cost for the upgrades?" Lupin seemed excited about what the upgrades would do to his pogo stick.

"Maybe I can work it off if you need help I am willing to deliver I Just want to upgrade my pogo stick" Lupin has now got a determined look on his face.

Lupin really wants this upgrade. "Please is there any way I can a pay it off to you?" Lupin is now on his knees like his proposing to Mallory showing how much he wants the upgrade.

Holding up a hand, Mallory shook her head. "Sorry buddy. I really, really, REALLY get the desire, like, damn, making things better than they were before is great. But, I'm afraid I can't really make any of those calls right now, less my boss takes my head off an' all that. Tell you what though, give me your number, and after looking into the details, I'll give you a buzz to let you know the costs, logistics, and all of that hoohaa baloney. As for payment, again, I can't really let you know right off the top of my head, you know? I'm sure my boss would be fine with letting you help clear up the shop or something to pay it off, but, hell if I know buddy." At that, Mallory pulled out her phone, unlocking it and getting ready to put in a number. If given said number, she'd quickly tap it in, then put her phone back away. If not, she'd shrug, and put the phone away anyways, before speaking up.

"Anyways, your stick ain't in any dangerous condition. Just getting old or overused. The maintenance isn't something you really need to worry about, y'know? So, just go ahead and get yourself something to eat. After all, your body's a machine, and that shit needs some fuel! So go and get outta here buddy, and I'll hit you up with the details."

"Ok thank you for confirming that with me well I guess we should exchange numbers." Lupin pulled out his phone and gave Mallory his phone number after the exchange Lupin simply stated. "Well Miss Lucklace Just text me a price of the upgrade and I will let know as soon as I can afford it." Lupin started to get on his pogo stick Lupin said one more thing to Mallory before his exit. "Let me know if need any help like delivering stuff or just about anything I am really grateful for the advice." Lupin then smiled and started bouncing away continuing his sightseeing tour.

"Of course buddy Lupin dude. Pleasure doing preparation for future business with you." The girl said with a grin, before waving the semi-stranger off, sandal socking her way back home to go investigate the things that could potentially lead to a new job, or, most importantly, a fun opportunity to create new things and mess with new ideas.

With that, the girl walked off.
