Nothing Spectacular (Tomomi / Abel)

Another day of working. That line of thought was at this point becoming second hand, borderline thoughtless itself and not something that warranted even addressing. And here, on this rainy day, the skies dark and drizzling, Tomomi the litter boy was walking the streets. Covering his face was a standard hygiene mask, with latex gloves over his hands, a black bag in one hand, and a litter picker in the other. He wore a short sleeved red t-shirt, basic jeans, basic boots, and a hooded jacket that was just over his shoulder like a towel on someone's shoulder after a public bath.

Long hair sodden from the rain and covering his face, the boy looked in an equally sodden state as he walking slowly along, looking up to make sure he didn't bump into anyone as he walked and worked. With an almost subconscious motion he picked up litter as he went, seeming to be a perfect adept at the art of using the litter picker to pick up, well, litter.

Still, thus far, it was just a normal day on the job.

Okay i got milk, bread, Apples, and chicken strips okay i think that's everything! Abel had just finished the errands his mother sent him on and was on his way home. However as he was walking home, he noticed a oddly dressed boy picking up trash. Are you a germaphobe or something? Abel walked a little bit closer to the boy and tried to shield him from the rain with his umbrella. My name is abel by the way.

"G-germophobe?" Tomomi turned his head to look at the stranger, confused at the moment and having not recognised the word as he tried to rationale what it was in his head. So, a phobe was scared of things... And germs were... Germs... So, someone scared of germs?

Still, before he could reply, Tomomi watched as the other person held their umbrella so that Tomomi was also under it. He couldn't really keep walking along like this, so, the boy stopped and laughed awkwardly, shaking his head. "A-ah, um, no, I'm not. I'm just, um, doing my job. I'm a litter picker, so, doing this is what I do. And the name's Tomomi! Nice to meet you Abel!"

Oh i see. It must suck to have to pick up other people's trash all day. Abel smiled at tomomi and extended his hand for a handshake. So tomomi do you get paid for this or is more of a volunteer thing? Abel didn't really want to get a part time job, but he knows that if he does his mother wouldn't have to work as hard. So if the job paid well and all he did was pick up trash he may force himself to do it.

At the hand extension, Tomomi removed the glove from his hand, shifting the grip of the things he was holding, before returning the handshake, and then putting his glove back on, and his grip back to normal, trying to ignore the comment about how much it sucked to pick up other people's rubbish.

"A-ah, um, you could say it sucks..." was all he said on the matter, before shaking his head. "Nope. It's paid work. I couldn't afford to do this as a volunteer thing, and it's not pleasant enough for it to be something that the public services can afford to have as a volunteer act. Oh, and um, t-thanks for holding the umbrella over me. S-so, um, what are you doing out here if you don't mind me asking? Since, well, it's not super walking weather..."

Cool, are there any openings right now or is it all filled up? And it's no problem man. Abel looked a little confused, he didn't think it was weird that he walked around in the rain but whatever. He did a lot of weird things. Oh well am running errands for my mom. Actually know that i think about it she's probably worried about me if am gone for more than 5 minutes she thinks I've been kidnapped or something. Abel laughed and play it off as a joke, but he knew that he'd get a huge lecture about staying out too late, once he got home.

"O-openings?"

It was a fairly rational question, and looking at the stranger, Tomomi guessed they were about the same age, give or take. At the very least, the same height. Still, Tomomi couldn't help but gulp slightly. He could either be honest, or lie. But... He always felt bad lying, so...

"W-while there are, um... Openings, I am not too sure I would... Well... R-recommend it... There are a lot of openings, and it's an easy enough job to get into, but, the pay is low, the conditions aren't the highest, and um... You won't really have an easy time getting out of it... T-trust me on that... You wouldn't want your mother to think you've taken a job because it's easy to get into if you can't get out of it... O-oh, and um... D-don't tell my boss I said that please... I really need to keep this job..." Tomomi warned, voice almost pleading near the end.

Oh wow thanks for warning me buddy, my mom whould have my ass on a silver platter if i had to go to a job almost every day. Abel smile and gave tomomi a light pat on the head I don't know you sound like you don't like your job, maybe i should do you a favor and get you fired. Hehehehe am joking of course am not the type of person who would do that. Anyways i gotta go i had a lot of fun talking to you and i hope we'll meet again! Abel gave tomomi a thumbs up and started to walk back home. (Abel has left the building)

"Ah, okay, um, bye sir! Have a nice day!" Tomomi called out, watching the person walk off and getting soaked once more by the rain. It was certainly an interesting conversation, and simultaneously the pat on the head and the joke about getting Tomomi fired made the litter boy grow somewhat disordered and confused. But that thought was shaken off by the rain, and so he returned to work as if nothing had happened.
