| Rie Takanashi"No matter how much pain it causes me... I will become a force for Order and not Chaos." The Biography
|
Birth Name: Rie Takanashi Aliases: Lamina Gender: Female Age: 17 Birth Day: December 30th. Arcana: Justice Place of Residence: East Eden Academy Semester: Second Year Class: --
Sorority: Squire Program Club
Part/Full-Time Job: Part-Time Nurse's Assistant
Appearance:
- Appearance Image:
Standing at just over five-feet-four-inches tall, Rie is slightly above the average height for a woman her age and in her homeland; Her slender frame making her appear somewhat weak at first glance in combination with this, although her typically long and modest clothing conceals a layer of toned muscle below the surface which is a result of Rie's near-constant training and utilization of her Shadow Weapon.
Her skin is somewhat pale, and her white hair adds to the ghostly look that her visage presents, yet her soft gaze and over-all gentle demeanor make her appear much more approachable than a first glance might.
Rie's attire typically consists of a long green skirt with white accents, along with a white under-shirt over which is worn a green button-up vest and necktie to accentuate her attire and give it an overall more dignified appearance. A simple bow in her hair adds to the feminity of her appearance without detracting from her over-all seriousness alongside a strap worn diagonally from her shoulder and onto either hip which, in turn, supports a large sheathe that contains her Shadow Weapon in the form of a Katana.
Alternate Appearance: N/A
Personality: Rie may appear at first glance, due to her serious attire and subdued attitude, as if she were a cold and deathly serious individual who has no time for games nor any sort of mayhem - however, if one took the opportunity to speak with her they would quickly find that Rie is openly supportive of those she comes into contact with and more often than not is willing to perform small favors or give assistance to those who need it; even if doing so would inconvenience her in the short-term.
Rie does her best to remain a healthy balance between a calm and collected demeanor and a more cheerful, open attitude that welcomes others in; most of her issues come in the form of the pull from her Shadow Weapon which is more than willing to disrupt the girl's social and personal life if it means an opportunity to obtain whatever it desires at the time - typically a sacrifice of some sort.
When in battle or in serious situations, Rie will attempt to take control of the situation by means of asserting herself as an authority on whatever matter is at-hand while utilizing the intimidation factor that her Shadow Weapon may provide in order to force others into a less favorable position, or better yet, to surrender altogether.
She does have a habit, however, of neglecting simple answers in favor of complex ones and more-often-than-not will place herself into an easily avoidable situation simply due to the fact she is unable to determine when something is too dangerous for her or when she is missing something that is obviously amiss to others.

The Potential
|
Strengths:
—Strength Name: The Art Of The Cursed Sword —Description: Skills which utilize the Dark Element within Rie's Skillset have an increase of 10% to their effectiveness.
—Strength Name: Inhuman Strength —Description: Due to their Shadow Weapon, while wielding it, Rie is given an increase to their physical strength on par with some of the most well-trained ordinary Humans - but only while wielding their weapon and while the weapon itself is sated.
—Strength Name: Cursed Blade's Sight —Description: While wielding her Shadow Weapon regardless of whether or not the weapon is Sated, Rie can see the spirits of those that have recently been deceased as faint silhouettes that can only discern a general body-shape and nothing further at this level.
(Target must have died within the Thread in order to be seen, applies to both PCs and NPCs)
(This Strength can be increased by Soul Skills that specifically include it as a component)
—Strength Name: Rational Thinker —Description: Due to their intense and often long hours of study, Rie has become something of a professional when it comes to logical reasoning, this increases the gains from Intelligence Social Quality increases by times two (x2)
----- —Floating Strength Name: N/A —Description: N/A
Weaknesses:
—Weakness Name: Dark Servitude —Description: On occasion, Rie will be compelled by Solis Aufero to seek out an individual (regardless of allegiance) and kill them in order to sate the blade's bloodlust. This call can be resisted for a time, up to a single week, but doing so will cause Rie to lose favor with the blade and render it unable to be used and rendering themselves severely sickened until the blade is sated.
—Weakness Name: A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing —Description: Due to being a Forgotten, along with the wielding of Aufero themselves, Rie has great difficulty in feeling at-peace among others who are not Forgotten like themselves and often is unable to communicate reliably with them.
—Weakness Name: Lack Of Perspective —Description: Rie has a very black and white view of morality, often believing themselves to be the paragon of what is right and believing that others who would go against them are instead the opposite, a paragon of the wrong and the ignorant.
As a result of this, Rie has difficulty seeing another side of a situation than her own and will often try to impose her own sense of morality and beliefs whenever possible without regard for others.
This halves the gain of the Understanding Social Quality (1/2 to all Understanding Social Quality Gains)
—Weakness Name: Honorable Opponent —Description: Believing that no one, not even an Enemy, should be slain without a weapon in-hand or when otherwise not directly engaged in harming herself or party-members; Rie will always attempt to spare the life of an opponent first who is not actively placing the party in direct danger. It does not matter if the opponent in question has previously harmed herself or others, Rie will still attempt to find a peaceful solution which can - at times - lead to issues with those who are of a more aggressive nature.
Her reasoning is thus, if one kills even an opponent in cold blood, then they themselves become no greater than the one whom they are killing. By sparing them or otherwise at least allowing them to die honorably through battle, they are showing themselves to have a degree of dignity and display honor that may have not been shown toward them and thus becoming the moral higher in that given situation.
This, of course, does not extend to those who would actively attempt to deceive the party or those who have previously been shown the same mercy and yet have continued to place others in danger - these individuals will not be extended the same courtesy twice and Rie understands this.
----- —Floating Weakness Name: N/A —Description: N/A
Shadow/Demon Weapon:
Weapon Name: Solis Aufero ("Sun Thief") Weapon Description: A katana of average size and length with a blade that turns black when in use and reverts to grey when sheathed or an attack is not being made. Weapon Image: N/A Weapon Attack Type: Slash Weapon Element: N/A
Side-Arm Weapon:
Side-Arm Name: Justicar Side-Arm Description: An old, simple short-barreled revolver. Side-Arm Image: N/A Side-Arm Attack Type: Gun Side-Arm Style: Revolver - Single Shot - Accuracy is increased by 20%. Consumes only one type of ammo per use. Can shoot only one enemy at a time.

The Background
|
History: Rie is unaware of most of the events that led to them becoming a test subject in the Shadow Weapon bonding experiments, however, they are well aware of the aftermath of these experiments and the power that they had gained as a result. Rie knows very little about Personas and Shadows, only having learned what they could gather from information taken during their initial escape of the facility that was housing them.
All the other information that Rie has obtained has mainly come from Solis Aufero, the blade itself which Rie had been bonded to. The weapon was initially cold toward the young girl, but would eventually see the potential in training and manipulating the girl into becoming a proper servant of the blade. What Aufero did not expect, however, was Rie rejecting the cursed blade and accepting the punishment of it slowly draining away her own lifeforce in lieu of having another individual or soul to devour.
Aufero would eventually grow tired of the girl's insolence and demand that she provide for the blade or else, it promised, it would ensure that it was more than just her that perished as punishment for refusing the blade's desire for blood and souls. Sickened and with her own body's need for survival finally forcing her hand, Rie agreed to feed the blade if it meant that she was able to choose who would be sacrificed and who would be spared in regards to feeding the Shadow Weapon, allowing her at least some degree of morality to an immoral situation.
It was when Rie refused to kill an individual that they had wounded during a short skirmish that her former captors were able to find the girl again and capture her; Rie having been in a heated argument with Aufero and forced to the ground by the blade which had begun to drain her lifeforce when the Organization arrived upon receiving a tip about a strange girl with a sword causing a commotion within the city. Due to Rie's weakness at the time and her outright refusing to utilize Aufero until it relented she was easily recaptured and placed in a more secure facility without the blade by her side which would serve to slowly weaken the girl's resolve over the course of several days.
On the third day in captivity, Rie was told that she would either work alongside the Organization and the Government willingly or she would simply be kept away from Aufero until they broke her mind that way. Realizing that she was fighting a losing battle, Rie accepted the demands and was instructed to work alongside the Cadets as a way of allowing her to have a reason to interact directly with others and to allow her a method of feeding Aufero that would not result in suspicion being raised too much - or at the very least, something that would not alert the general populace.
Having no real other option except a slow, painful demise, Rie reluctantly would retrieve Aufero and agree to the terms, being allowed to leave the facility once more - this time without the need for breaking out - and return to East Eden where she had lived as a small child, searching out the Cadets and hoping to provide her assistance to them as her captors had desired.
Rie has noticed, however, since her recapture that Aufero has been utterly and completely silent with only the need for being fed registering as a deep growl and pain within the girl's mind. She is unsure if the blade is simply refusing to speak with her, or if their separation and recapture had broken their bond partially in some way - regardless of the truthful outcome, Rie knows that in order to harness the blade in a manner more like she originally intended ... she must find a way to reawaken it.

| lol, cool. A Cadet with Dirty Harry Syndrome. That will be interesting. - Quote :
- —Strength Name: The Art Of The Sword
—Description: All skills utilizing Swords only have an increase of 10% to their effectiveness. So just slash skills or any skills in your Forgotten skill set? - Quote :
—Strength Name: Inhuman Willpower —Description: Rie may continue to fight for a single extra post after receiving an attack that would normally leave them unconscious or dead, however, after the post is over they will sustain all of the damage they had sustained previously as well as any new damage that is taken during this time. This is pretty much the Endure skill. And I wouldn't even do any instantaneous one-hit kill attacks from enemies from the start anyway. So I will have to reject this. - Quote :
—Strength Name: Rational Thinker —Description: Due to their intense and often long hours of study, Rie has become something of a professional when it comes to logical reasoning, this allows for them to study and understand material that would normally be above their ability and also explain these concepts to allies in order to help them learn them. It's fine as is, but are you sure you don't want it to become an Intelligence Social Quality strength? Up to you. - Quote :
—Weakness Name: Dark Servitude —Description: On occasion, Rie will be compelled by Solis Aufero to seek out an individual (regardless of allegiance) and kill them in order to sate the blade's bloodlust. This call can be resisted for a time, up to three months, but doing so will cause Rie to lose favor with the blade and render it unable to be used and rendering themselves severely sickened until the blade is sated. Due to the nature of the time system, three months may not be a good metric. Probably up to a week or three days is fine with me. - Quote :
—Weakness Name: Honorable Opponent —Description: Believing that no one should fight an uneven battle, Rie will do all that is in her power in order to ensure that even her enemies have an even playing field. This can range from performing aide on them, or simply by allowing them the first strike in a battle. Regardless of the decision, these beliefs can often be taken advantage of by opponents and result in Rie placing themselves often at great risk. So how is this going to affect boss battles when you'll be working in teams for the Cadets? History: I would like more detail on who was conducting said experiments. And why she would even want to join the Cadets. Is it so she can legally feed her Shadow Weapon? Most histories don't have to state why, but they do help hint in a reason why they would like to join. | |

—Strength Name: The Art Of The Cursed Sword —Description: Skills in Rie's Forgotten Skillset which utilize Swords have an increase of 10% to their effectiveness. I hate to be this guy, but if it's in a Forgotten skillset, more often than not it involves the use of your sword, especially in PvP. So you have to choose an element. - Quote :
—Strength Name: Cursed Blade's Sight —Description: While wielding her Shadow Weapon regardless of whether or not the weapon is Sated, Rie can see the spirits of those that have recently been deceased and commune with these spirits verbally to a degree - however, due to their supernatural nature, she cannot physically touch or otherwise interact with the Spirits outright through this ability in a manner other than verbally or visually. This might be a bit much for a normal Human Strength. I could see it as a Tier 1. But if you limit it to seeing I guess "traces" at best, then I'll be okay with it. You could compound it with your free tier 1 soul skill to make it a bit stronger than a usual tier 1 soul skill if you wish. - Quote :
—Strength Name: Rational Thinker —Description: Due to their intense and often long hours of study, Rie has become something of a professional when it comes to logical reasoning, this increases the gains from Intelligence Social Quality increases by times two (x2) Please remember to have a corresponding weakness that addresses another Social Quality to balance out with this.
Rie will always attempt negotiations first if able and when battling alongside others will urge them to do battle in her particular fashion. She may not resent outright those who do not honor her requests, but this can lead to conflict between herself and other members of a party if it becomes a continuous issue. My issue is that you probably won't have a lot of people willing to work with you in a team. If you're okay with that, which I think you shouldn't be, go for it. And by aiding enemies, you may have severe consequences from your higher-ups. Just to let you know. History: It's fine. But remember, the Cadets aim to protect the citizens. And you are expected to do your job. | |

I meant to say it goes one way when it comes to affecting each other. Honorable Opponent is probably fine now. Just remember it when things go south. History: There's also a problem with her being a run-away. That kind of history is more of a Psyche-Terrorist's history imo now that I read it again. Class Zero Cadets wouldn't be working with such organizations like that. It would have to be some other branch of government, can be nondescript. More often than not, said organization would be pushing you to work with the Cadets. | |

| I'm fine with history as is. Remember, you cannot use your forgotten skills until you awaken. And that you probably shouldn't mention much about her backstory inrp.
