| Somewhere in a decrepit dusty shack tucked away in East Eden, a silver-haired woman stood tinkering and toiling away over a workbench. Red, yellow, green: splashes of color were scattered across the table alongside piles of discarded metal scraps and rare flowers, a strange sight surely, though one the woman herself was all too familiar with. Her hand slowly reached into a nearby jar and carefully extracted a silver bullet from it; she released a heavy sigh and dipped it cautiously into a bright bottle resting in front of her. - Bullet Creation:
—Strength Name: Makeshift Modifications —Description: When you're low on supplies you learn to make do with what you've got. As someone who was often running low on specific kinds of ammunition, Shizuka learned how to make her own "bootleg" types by using spare parts and strange ingredients, mixing and matching various properties in unusual ways to give her bullets that extra kick needed to take down particular kinds of demons. While there's little need for her to perform it on-the-fly anymore, she can still take her expertise to the workbench and with some time and effort modify any normal rounds she has on hand, spending a timeslot to give up to five of her normal bullets one standard element (Fire/Wind/Ice/Electricity/Earth/Light/Dark) of her choosing. Obviously these bullets have the same rules and characteristics as their regular elemental ammo counterparts; they're just less expensive homebrewed versions of the real thing. —Weakness Name: Lab Accidents —Description: Shizuka's methods of creating alternative ammunition are... questionable to say the least. She devised them on the battlefield under threat of death, so it's not surprising that the steps can be difficult to replicate sometimes, nor is it too shocking when performing them seemingly perfectly leads to unintended results. When dedicating a timeslot to the creation of elemental bullets, the player must roll a ten number randomizer and select three numbers: the first number will cause the element to be randomized and the second and third will lead to the bullets simply being destroyed in the midst of mixing-and-matching things together. This only gets more likely with higher tiers of bullets as another number is added onto this chance of failure per additional tier. If total failure occurs then they'll be replaced with one pile of "Bullet Scraps", a useless item with no mechanical effect, though it can be sold on the Black Market for 10 VC and a look of pity from Chee. Desired Element: Amount of Bullets Used: 5/5 Element is randomized if 1. Bullets are destroyed if 9 or 10. - Random number (1,10) :
- 3

| "Haa..." A gentle sigh. Shizuka could see the bullet begin to shimmer from within the container as the sunlight fell upon it. After repeating the process a few more times with four more pieces of ammunition, the Cadet would walk over to the cabin's only window and shut the blinds, closing up shop for the time being. She looked around the small cottage with a smile while she went about it gathering her belongings. In truth, she'd been worried about the living situation in Endymion, worried that the houses would be too large for her and filled with devices she was unsure of how to operate... but it seemed those worries had been misplaced. This cozy home she'd been provided with was the perfect fit for her ongoing transition, an unassuming blend of practicality and serenity that left her away from all the chitter-chattering in the more populated districts. She could only assume it'd been handpicked by the government for her, but then again, such an assumption was likely just uncharacteristic arrogance on her part. Regardless, it was beginning to feel like home already, an improvement to her barracks in the Outer Rim without being too dauntingly different from her lifestyle there. While she was sad to leave her new residence so soon, she had places to go and people to see. Her humble workbench and bed could wait: for once there was certainty they wouldn't be going anywhere. | |
