She blinked almost incredulously about the suggestion and found herself chuckling at how out-of-place and sudden the description was from Brittany. But, mostly about how it was also putting her in the same category as them. Maria shook her head from the slight mirth and heaved a sigh dismissing it before assuring her, "If I have to, I can watch from the crowd if there are any so I don't get in the way. And besides, I can just say I'm a Cadet who's just patrolling around. I don't think they've got much to say to that if it's open to the public."
"I think so...? I mean, it's a good trade off, being healthy and looking good. Helps to elevate your quality of life." Maria slowly agreed, but still seemed a little concerned no matter how much she tried to smile it away. Doubly so, when a small memory began to flit through her mind. Sure, maybe Maria's own job was tough. But every kind of work from all walks of life had their own way of taking a toll on people's lives. From what she was remembering, the Cadet didn't put modeling out of consideration. "But, I remember you said something about self-induced vomiting a while back... Are you sure it doesn't get tough at times?"

“Awwww you’re worried?”, Brittany said, placing both hands over her chest, in a comical gesture of sentimental display. “I don’t do that! Trust me, I don’t! Like, I’m always running here and there, I barely have time to actually, you know, take a sit, enjoy food or even feel hungry. Really, when you’re so busy, you don’t remember to actually eat, it’s like your body doesn’t feel the need to do it unless it’s, like, extremely necessary, because your mind busies itself with more important stuff rather than eating. Being punctual, being late, being well dressed, getting the bus, paying the bills, studying for exams… So yeah, I don’t usually eat a lot, if we were to compare to normal people. But when I do, I do feast myself! My manager would kill me if he heard this but, seriously, there’s nothing better than eating well and eating a lot, and now that I can afford it for real, I wouldn’t do something as to induce vomiting! Like, ew? That’s quite disgusting. And harmful to your body, like, the whole thing with forcing food out… aaaand it’s a waste of money to buy something only to throw it to the flush. You know, this is why some people say models are dumb, they’re basically wasting money!!”
Thinking of it, it was rather outrageous that some models resorted to such extreme measures in order to keep their shape, such as money wastage. However, the moment after she felt a bit sorry for them being so into their jobs that they had to resort to potentially harmful alternatives to not fall behind competition in an extremely competitive market such as the fashion universe. “So… It’s all set, I think? I’ll send you a SMS with the place and time of the open photoshoot. But… lemme just tell you this, if you intend to pass as a cadet on patrol, it’s better if, like, you don’t go dressed as a nun. Just saying!”

"...I see. Yeah, it really would be a shame if it all went to waste. You can still make dieting food taste good if you know what you're doing. There should be no need for any of this at all."
Slowly, but surely, her misgivings and concerns were dwindling for the moment. Not all of it was gone, but it was enough for Maria to begin slowly nodding and putting a lid on the topic. If she was alright, then the Cadet didn't have to worry. At least, for now. After all, they were friends, right? Friends help and care for each other. That little cryfest earlier cemented this. As much as she wanted to end this on a good note, her expression soured at Brittany's comment.
"You're... not wrong. I hate how you're right about this. I guess, I can wear my school uniform... If I have to."
It was a sore point as the Cadet winced at the truth. It wasn't like she liked wearing the habit all the time. Maria always felt like that sore thumb in the middle of the crowd, even more with the coffin. It was really more for convenience's sake when switching between daytime Cadet and Church work. It can be a real hassle to change between them, honestly. But there was no way she was going to wear her battle dress in public when there was no need to, now that one, was what you needed to wear to really stand out.
"That aside, I'll look forward to the text, Brit. I'll be there in seconds flat. You can count on that."

Brittany couldn’t help but to laugh at Maria’s displeased reaction, so much that she had to cover her mouth at one point. The kind of fun, harmless teasing between two friends. “Oh Mary girl, you can just… you know, wear the clothes we bought the other day! Yeah, you should probably do that. Really, the habit makes you look like you’re my grandma, and you’re so pretty by yourself, you really are, it’s time for this caterpillar to leave her cocoon, spread her wings and show this beauty to the world! Can you imagine? What if it’s your lucky day and they spot you in the middle of the crowd to say “You are the one”? Like, I’m not even joking, that’s what happened to me! Well, more or less what happened to me, it's a bit more intricate but you get the idea. Have I told you about this story? I totally gotta tell you about this story!” Her eyes were basically glimmering with exultation about the consideration of someone actually noticing how attractive Maria was behind all the artifacts and devices that hinder her confidence. All she needed was, naturally, that extra push to overcome her natural shyness and accept her inner (and outer) beauty. That’s, naturally, where Brittany comes in. It’s not something that can be changed from day to night, however, and she was perfectly aware of it.
“Anyway, you’re tired, aren’t you? You just came back from your, I dunno how to call it, mission or something? Sooo… As the lovely and loyal sidekick I, Ms. Brittany Wilson, am, I’m gonna let the super heroine of Endymion, Maria… hum, what’s your surname again? I don’t think you’ve told me… Whatever, forget that! The super heroine of Endymion, Maria something, have her deserved moment of rest! Yay!”, she clapped her hands effusively before standing up. “Do expect my message anytime! I’m counting on you! Now… Can you take me to Father George? I wanna thank him and say goodbye. Oh, and Greg too! Can’t forget about Greg!”

She was at a loss for words. Yeah, Brittany kept re-iterating that the nun was actually more beautiful than she gave herself credit for. Yet, the very thought of her walking down that modeling runway caused a giddy-like sensation through the Cadet's spine. Someone like her could be seen as a model just like Brittany? It still felt like they were world's apart in that avenue, yet that distance shortened so much from those few words. She was just a boring nun and Brittany was a rising superstar model. Thanks to her friend, she gained some confidence back, but to be put under the spotlight of the professionals? Now that's a real heart-stopper. But she quickly regained her bearings with her usual awkward smiles. "W-well... M-maybe I'll be lucky. But I'm afraid I would have to turn them down, with me having my duties anyway. I'm not sure if I feel too comfortable showing off my... assets."
But thankfully the subject would change pretty quickly, even if she wanted to hear more of the story. It was starting to get late as the sun shining through the window was beginning to enter its setting orange stages. And besides, there was work to be done tonight and shut-eye to be claimed. There was no rest for the weary. She sighed and shook her head while smiling. "It's Woodsworth, Miss Wilson. Gee, get it right! But you're not wrong... I need to take a nap, I'm having another late-night patrol tonight to help the newcomers get used to the job. It's putting a dent on my cycle, but that's not stopping me from reading anything you throw at my way."
Maria also began to get on her feet as her friend began to make her departure. "Sure, they might still be around right now. Evening services haven't started yet."
----------------------
"Going so soon? Can't blame ya', it's a dusty old church. You'll have to forgive Greg, he's busy with setting up the evening service. But I'll let him know you wanted to say your farewells to him." Father Jorge said as Maria led Brittany to the priest, who was just then sweeping the hallway with a broom. There was a little disappointment that their visitor would leave so soon, but not everyone wanted to stay in a religious establishment for long like its inhabitants do. Nevertheless, he grinned with full teeth as Maria disapprovingly narrowed her eyes.
"Father. You really shouldn't be saying that. What if the Mother Superior hears you?" The Cadet scolded at him like a doting daughter would to a careless father figure. The priest rubbed his neck sheepishly while brushing aside her concern with a rough ruffle of her hair. "My behavioral issues aside, you're welcome to stop by any time, Miss Wilson. God knows we could use more visitors before we all lose our minds from the monotony."

Watching Maria and Jorge interact was rather endearing. Nostalgic to a point, melancholic even. Despite having losing her family, Maria had found another, even if her new family was just one person she could trust her heart to. They really looked like daughter and father, and for a moment, Brittany couldn’t help but to feel jealous. Envious. It wasn’t the most honorable of the feelings, she knew, let alone on sacred ground. Yet, it was there, and she silently wondered when it would be her time to have her family too. Until then, there wasn’t much for her to do but to rejoice at Jorge’s invitation and wipe these thoughts away with a smile.
“He’s not wrong, you know. This place is a bit boring, totally! Even Greg said so! You know what we need to make it better in here? Colors! Lights! Music! Not sad music, but real upbeat music! I have the perfect idea to attract people to the church, just because you’re, like, preaching to God doesn’t mean you have to be sad and mournful while doing it. You can, you know, pray to Jesus and celebrate life while partying, right, Father?”, she hoped he would back her up here, before glancing back to Maria. “Alright, time for Miss Cadet Woodswhatever to escort me to the door! How do you even spell your name, again? Like, I could only get the “wood” part of it!”, she rolled her eyes mockingly, only to reveal a fun giggle at the end, taking the liberty to entangle her left arm with Maria’s and blowing a friendly kiss to the old priest, her typical fancy way of departure. “Byeee, Father!”

"You too, Brit--Of course you'd agree..." Maria groaned as her friend seemed to have a kindred spirit with the Father. Jorge's antics were bad enough as is, but with Brittany's mischievousness maybe it was well past what she could possibly deal with. Yet, even with shaking her head disapprovingly and with a grudging smile spreading onto her face, she wouldn't have it any other way. Maria sighed. "Woodsworth, Brit. Get it right, gee..."
She allowed her friend to tangle with her arm, allowing the cheerleader to feel the muscles that allowed the Cadet to wield her weapon with frightening ease. Maria would only roll her eyes as Jorge laughed out loud and waved the two of them away as they left...
All's well that ends well... Right?

Wandering through the dark halls of the church, an idol and a nun to be rekindle their friendship. One breaks through the ripples of cognition, learning the darkest of secrets held by their friend. The other peels from their shell of discomfort, reopening her Divided wounds in a show of trust. In total however, there is only one thing that can be said... Brittany of the Sun and Maria of the Chariot have furthered their bond to rank 6
