Subject: A small game of tic-tac-toe [Case File 30 - Side Mission] Fri Aug 10, 2018 10:57 am
Zaku had had a decent time at the forge most of the morning, filling out orders and the like, and now she was taking some time to herself, so she decided to do a little net surfing, she took her time getting some things ready, a bit of food some drink, and she then sat at her computer and turned it on and started the log in process deciding games or something would be interesting as a means to relax. Her cowlick dancing about happily as she got ready to have a bit of fun.

Immediately after Zaku logged in, her screen would flood with an absurd amount of jumbled green code, an indecipherable stream of numbers and letters engulfing her entire browser and rushing down the tab while her keyboard and mouse silently shut off. It'd be blatantly obvious to anyone who'd interacted with a computer before that this wasn't normal by any stretch of the imagination; it was a bombastic wave of flair not unlike the kind of hacking you'd see in an outdated mediocre movie or a meme floating around the web, something that had to be either a blatant display of supernatural power or an elaborate prank... or perhaps both? Regardless, while the sight might initially prove alarming, things would calm down not long after as the rapidly moving text slowed to a trickling crawl and control over the keys and cursor returned to the blacksmith. Her browser would remain altered though and every tab she opened would load the same black screen, a masked figure slowly fading into sight and waving in her direction, the girl(?) hovering peacefully in a sea of code while the screen automatically began to zoom in on her head.
"You can't spell slick without silk! So how ya doing, Slick?"
Most of the random text behind her would disappear and in the vacant space new words would be spelled out, the messages speedily darting in to fill the empty spot. But in spite of their swift arrival, they'd linger for a decent bit before vanishing and being replaced giving Zaku a fair amount of time to read it over, likely thanks to the fact that the terrorist wasn't actually speaking aloud for her to hear. In the meantime, the rabbit-headed woman would put her index finger to her mask's chin, thinking emojis popping into existence all around her alongside swarms of weather-related ones like suns, raindrops, clouds, etc.
"Can you believe it's autumn already Slick? I can't since I never go outside! Seeing is believing and all I see is a deep dark basement, yep yep~! Besides, things aren't allowed to change in Endy, so shifts in weather gotta be some form of blasphemy right? If seasons were legalized though which would you wanna see come out first?"
QAS Initiated!
>Winter.
>Summer.
>Seasons are legal doofus. Duh.

Zaku sat there a moment as her screen went wild and she was about to unplug it when it all calmed down and the whole situation started, with a look at the screen she seen the figure and then the text crawl started, well might as well see where this goes, if it bricks he system at least she could buy a new one...
Then the text crawl gave some info and mentioned things not Changing in "Endy" it obviously meant the city, but then it mentioned something about the seasons never changing, and as Zaku thought about that a moment, she had to wonder when she last seen things change, but it was odd that it would call it illegal, deciding to simply go with this since this person seemed to be a bit over the edge on things.
Silksteel: "probably Ice honestly when it's to cold you can at least do more about it to warm up, if it's to hot there is only so much you can do to counter it, though I have to admit your wording about it being legalized confuses me." she typed since she didn't have a mic.

"I'm just messing around... or am I? Maybe we're all living in a weatherless simulation and I'm some kinda glitch in the system. Haha! A ghost in the machine!" The emoticons around her would suddenly all transform into ghost emojis as the background behind her briefly flickered between shots of villains from low-quality horror movies. After having a good visible chuckle though, Con-Soul would snap her fingers and fade away into the background as it returned to normal. Plain white lines would appear around the code-covered void in her place and create a crude but clear gameboard for them to play on. Then after the process was finished her head would pop up from the lower-right corner and a small box of basic information would open up at the very bottom.
"Whatever the case, no need to get the chills! Horror games aren't my style anyway, so let's warm up those cold feet and get crackin'!"
Tic-Tac-Jack!:
Tic-Tac-Jack follows normal tic-tac-toe rules. You put down your corresponding symbol in a space of your choosing and attempt to connect three of them in any direction while blocking your opponent from doing the same. The player (aka you) moves first and based on the decision made during their QAS will use one of these two pieces based on the likenesses of Demons.
(If you have editing software and feel like it then you can feel free to paste them down on the board yourself, but otherwise just give me the directions verbally in your post and I'll place yours for you.)
The end result of the game will determine the player's reward as elaborated on in the initial Case File. A win will net them the Victor's Bonus alongside the normal prizes, a loss will leave them with only the regular rewards, and a draw will either trigger a rematch or count as an effective loss. If the game is tied then a two number randomizer will be rolled by the DM which determines whether or not the player gets a second game; if it lands on 1 they do, if it lands on 2 they don't. Following this though, no further randomizers will be rolled, although further rematches might be granted depending on what happens in the thread. "But don't worry about that! Just do your best and let's have some fun!"
Your piece is... Jack Frost! Ice this hee-ho!

Zaku was taken a bit by surprise by the whole thing honestly, but the person seemed to be friendly at least? so as the text crawled along the screen she sat there and read it and sat through the flash, then the screen changed to a tic-tac-toe board and she looked a little confused for a moment before the instruction box popped up and she realized what what going on fully, "Well then I will place here" she typed as she placed a piece on the center
first move is placing on the center

"So how've you been doing IRL, Slick? Seems like everyone in this city is on edge recently! But that's why I love games. They let you escape all those day-to-day worries."

Middle top spot please
"Been doing okay, just living life and working really, decided to spend some time playing some games rather then working at the moment since what I have to work on can wait a bit, just can't put it off too too long" she typed back

"Yikes! W-o-r-k! My least favorite word in the English language! What kind of work do you do? Is it the boring kind or are you secretly some kind of ninja-spy-thing?"

"I consider it normal, I make things out of metal, and I sew, nothing that interesting I guess, most people rarely notice me to be honest" she said as she looked at the screen a moment, more lost in playing the game then watching what she was saying

"Yeparooski! Was fun while it lasted, but I gotta split now. There are others waiting for their turn at a match."
Zaku's screen would cut to black abruptly and a quick glance at it would reveal the machine had shut down. A few seconds passed and then it automatically switched back on, but there'd be no trace of the girl or her game to be found, the computer left completely unaltered by the encounter. True to her earlier jokes, Con-Soul vanished like a ghost and in her wake left nothing but a memory.

Zaku was quite surprised about what had happened but she decided to leave it as it was, and she simply continued to boot up the game she had meant to play when she got on.
