Against the Grain [Kansuke]

Rui wasn't quite exactly sure what the English idiom "clouds where your head is" meant. He assumed it was something to do with sagacious foresight, as one who could stare at the sad ground-people from above the clouds.

"Oh, thanks!"

Rui seemed to actually think about alternative idol concepts, "Well, you never know. They want relatable idols. Alcoholism could be relatable."

Rui then looked straight at the young man, before answering straightforwardly, describing what he was thinking about. His quick, honest reply was out of mere instinct, "What the crowd would look like with hair. Made of cockroaches. Cockroach hair. How would you paint cockroach hair?"

Rui was still under the impression that the messy young man was a painter of some kind. Since he seemed to be lugging around so many supplies, that seemed more likely than a digital artist or photographer. And he admitted to not being a martial artist.

"Cockroach..." Kansuke trailed off. Unwelcome it might be, but the image of cockroaches crawled like the critter into his inspiration, replacing bodies of flesh and bone with chitin and chattering jaws. Soon the whole picture crawled and crept in the corner of his mind, making his brain itch and shudder. A smile slipped across his features, unbeknown to Kansuke. He looked at his bag. Checked the crowds. "You might be onto something there, weirdo."

He could bear it no longer. He hurried past Rui, clapping him heavily on the shoulder as he departed for his next piece. "Thanks. Keep your eyes peeled!"

[EXIT]

Rui more or less stood there with a confused look after being clapped on the shoulders by the messy man. "He never told me his name...or showed me any of his art." Rui's first reaction was that...it would not be particularly easy to "keep his eyes peeled."

Then again, that wasn't a huge problem. He'd probably hear about some strange cockroach concert piece of art being submitted to any of the local exhibitions. That being said, the messy boy was quite odd in many of his social mannerisms. Totally different from Rui. Totally. He decided he would keep his eyes out for any cockroach-themed submissions.

"Man, that guy was strange...", Rui noted out loud before deciding that he needed to finish up his submission.
