Lucifer's Call [Encounter 3 :: Recollections I] DR1voPU

A familiar location appeared within the haze of your minds. The scorched red earth beneath your heels, the pale orange sky above head, and the cause of your ordeals... the Terminal before you. It was indeed The Atziluth again.  The Wild Cards appeared in their usual attire. Rei's descendant being in his usual shackles while Yomi's being garbed in that of the Royal Attire. And yet they could see oneself so clearly, they could not see their opposite in a clear view.

Once again a shady figure loomed before the Terminal. It was of a Man, or perhaps a Woman. It was impossible to tell their distinct shape, as if some sort of force was constantly diverting their eyes to the truth of what was before them.

Lucifer's Call [Encounter 3 :: Recollections I] J6prf4

"Welcome back." Their voice was soft, and like before, switched between that of a young man to an older woman. "Both of you are now seeing more of this world's true face. Like all humans that wear masks, the city of Endymion is no different. Even before demons appeared within your world, humans wore masks to disguise their true selves from others. It is only natural some would manifest that very mask to protect them from the corruption that took place those five years ago."

Siffer turned to look towards the presence of Yomi specifically. "You have seen how harsh this world can be. Such terrorists, like Alice, have shown you that chaos leads to death." He then turned to the presence of Rei. "And yet, you've seen what happens when the Law is overbearing. It begins to control and consume any that does not follow suit. Your allies Skelter and Bee are testament to that. Locked within their own minds, having their bodies controlled while they were forced to watch in chains. Neither truly alive or dead."

The cloaked figure turned to look at the terminal. "There are only extremes in Endymion, and no in between. I am to blame. I gifted my knowledge of the Terminal to humans and allowed them to use it how they saw fit. Like the legend of Prometheus, I gave them fire. However, one of my spawns took it upon himself to manipulate the humans. One of you have even met him." Lou Siffer turned in the direction of Yomi's presence. "Five years ago you met the creature that set this world in motion. The creature who gave Rei the ability of Persona. The creature who informed her about the Terminal, and the creature who set the events for your predecessors to have that fateful encounter before the Terminal. He was... truly tormenting and the final time I was able monitor him was just after the Terminal was shut down by Yomi.."

This again. This wasn't what she needed after the previous night's mission; hell, it wasn't what she needed after ANY mission in the first place. Though in the real world Shiina's feelings would manifest as an extreme apathy by virtue of how tired she was, in this world that exhaustion simply melted away and gave rise to nothing more than frustration and anger.

Lucifer's Call [Encounter 3 :: Recollections I] Llys9Kc

//"...tch."//

As opposed to the last time she felt the other's presence, this time the Cadet Wild Card remained quiet, patient. Though, part of it came from a sense of discipline. Hide your feelings, use them as weapons that your enemies couldn't ever expect... they would be the dagger that forced this world to change. Eventually the person was done talking, though, and Shiina didn't remain quiet for too long.

//"...I have no idea who you're talking about."// Stupid riddles and circular words that told her nothing but what she had already deduced-- save for that last point. It was frustrating to admit, but whether she had met the person or not, it was too long ago to clearly remember at this point. Five years had passed, and as she was only there for a single day before the Eternal Divide, the most important event in human history more than eclipsed such a brief potential meeting. But regardless, the Cadet Wild Card sighed and addressed her opposing counterpart. //"Do you wanna go first this time?"//

It was something she had began feeling was an injustice the last time they were pit in the same place, her selfishly speaking without caring about what someone else might have to say. It was unbecoming of her as a protector of the Law... and also as a person in general.

The clacking of chains brought light upon Frog's eyes again as they opened to a world he'd nigh forgotten existed within his mind. Yet the figure's silhuette and voice blazed through his mind, etching against the simplest of names: Lou, as if he'd only heard it yesterday. He felt a relief and a smile creeping onto his face in realization that it was just as real as the last time. He was meeting Lou again, and he was in the presence of his significant other, one of the Queen's obedient lapdogs-the other Wild Card.

She brought such anger to him, her face shaved away from sight. He could not be certain of anything about her, aside from the way she treated him. His very garb already signified to him that he was seen as the lower being when presented in this world, even if the other could not percieve it clearly. The importance of one's self-representation was overbearing, pushing maddening thought and complexes hidden deep within his heart to resurface as they did so often in his boring reality as well. Lou's talk mentioned Skelter and Bee and even Alice...his current unwanted allies, yet he couldn't pay them much heed as the other Presence addressed him. Words stuck in his throat as he felt his temperature rising. Was she trying to be polite to him? What did she even mean by what she said? He was never the one to pick up on slight hints. 'This time' signified she was paying him back for 'last time', yet he couldn't remember what'd even happened between them. It must've been a meaningless exchange so he locked it away. Besides, he didn't give a shit if someone else would rather talk instead of him, so long as they weren't getting in his immediate way or belittling him.

"An illusion of choice. You want me to alleviate your past regret or somesuch. I don't have a need to accept your proposal and I don't have anything I wish to immediately discuss with my dear Lou whilst in the presence of your prying ears." His voice a snarl, unwilling to give the other any sort of compliance. "First I now learn you've been privy to more information than me from the start...and now you just wanna see how much I know, don't you. LOU chose to talk to you exclusively so you just talk to LOU, I don't mind. Skelter and Bee are stupid anyways. Ya mean to say the government messed with their heads or something, aye? Then first why should I trust them, I know nothing of 'em. Skelter is the head honcho, as such, he's no better than the Queen! His propaganda is chaos but one he rules over and decides who lives and dies! I know better. Y-yes I do." Frog chuckled, digging his forehead into the ground as he bent his back upwards in a cackle. He could be free to do that in this world only Lou watched him in. And Lou didn't mind. Lou was good. "Chaos is without a law. It's a state of equalized opportunities, where everyone is pitted to survive against the same world and only those strong enough to do so are allowed to live. There is no rule to follow. No one gets to say who lives or dies. That's why I'll destroy Skelter too- Skelter is a fool! The Playhouse are fools too! The Queen is a fool too! YOU are a fool, Yomi!"

Lucifer's Call [Encounter 3 :: Recollections I] J6prf4

"Then it is fortunate that this meeting shall illuminate your memories." The hooded figure didn't seem to have any reaction to Yomi's presence. There was no discontent or amusement as it stood. Or at least, any that could be perceived at this time. But when Frog began to speak, they seemed more intent on listening on what Rei's presence had to share. But whether he was pleased or content with the Wild Card's answer cannot be told from their silent nature. But there was only acknowledgement. "I see your stance has not changed much since we last met. Indeed you are fitting for the role set by your predecessor. But, you are not here for each other. You will now see a certain truth that many are not privy to..."

The Wild Cards' minds began to see something flash. Visions of time long past began to play once more inside their skulls. They would find themselves once more in the past. Yet, there was something different about it...

Lucifer's Call [Encounter 3 :: Recollections I] Wwci7p

The world was forever shaken by the explosion. Demons poured out of the terminal and had their fun upon the unsuspecting humans that awaited above. And when the clash between the two Wild Cards ended, the Terminal had been closed but not before changing the world forever. One had fallen, and the other lost to an unknown world not touched by humankind. And though their conflict ended, the result would effect the lives of many in the coming five years.

Lucifer's Call [Encounter 3 :: Recollections I] KTreAbu

This dark presence...

A figure sat before the terminal, as it whirred and sparked with the power of the corrupt before finally shutting down. Shadows cloaked them, and masked their very presence in a dark and ominous aura. The Figure raised their hand to feel the warm touch of blood upon their palm. Beneath them was a blood trail that lead towards the darkness before being out of sight. However, none of this was processing to the figure. Like a puppet, they sat and stared forward as if missing something that made them whole. This figure had no will of its own, and was almost a facade in the shape of someone's real life.

"Well, I can't say I was expecting something like this. Oh I am truly Tormented." One gasp could be heard from the dark as footsteps became audible in the sealed room. A familiar young man would lean against a blood soaked desk while watching the figure masked in Shadows. "Hey. Hey you. Heya, you weird thing. Can ya hear me? Woohoo, you have the lovely Guest talking to you, so answer me!" Guest yelled with both hands to his mouth as to extend his voice, yet the figure remained still and lifeless. Slowly he walked forward, moving infront of the puppet and leaning down to get a better look at them. The puppet stared back, still radiating a powerful dark presence upon their body. Its arm raised toward the young man, as if about to pet him, before grasping his neck with abnormal strength.

Guest grasped their wrist and struggled against the grip before a sudden CRACK echoed through the room. Their neck had been broken, and their body fell lifelessly to the ground. The mysterious figure stared at the body before sitting motionless once again. And in a matter of seconds another pair of footsteps came from the dark as the same young man rubbed his neck with a toothy grin. When looking back to find their previous corpse, it was already gone as if never there to begin with.

"Oh, this is perfect. I could use you as leverage. He will see my game is the only one that matters. They will see that no matter if it is Him or Them, no ones Torment can overcome my own~ Kukuku~ But first, there's a loose end I better take care of. And then you'll meet your maker."

Lucifer's Call [Encounter 3 :: Recollections I] J6prf4

"Even my eyes have not been able to locate him in the past five years. His trickery has evolved more than I would have imagined. There is no guarantee he remains in Endymion, or if he resides in a different plain of existence. However, he could be anyone around you." Lou Siffer began to fade, as the world began to blur before slowing going dark for both the wild cards. "In a way, this demon helped you both become who you are. There is a chance he has been keeping a close eye on you both. It is your choice to heed my words or not: until next time."

The two wild cards were transported back to their time and place, and the hooded figure turned to watch the monumental terminal at their backside. Their growth continued, and each step would bring them closer to the destination. Their fates were entwined, and they would one day meet before the Terminal like Yomi and Rei before them. However, would this lead to the same ruin, or a salvation for humans?

Both Wild Cards have advanced their social link with Lou Siffer of the Magus Arcana...

Shiina hummed, then chuckled. It was true, it was just some dumb idea for self-gratification, but nevertheless she was glad he took it even if he didn't wish to. It was amusing, but this Wild Card felt truly glad that it was someone like this who'd be her opponent at the end of this road.

//"Trust no-one but yourself... you're right, honestly. Why should we let anything be decided by anyone but us? We're both special, aren't we?"// It was truly fantastic. //"I won't disagree with that. Willingly denying the truth or wanting to make people what they're not is the only mark of a fool that matters. It's not intelligence, it's not wisdom, but an illusion that you're above others innately for some reason or another."// The Cadet Wild Card hummed to herself. //"Believing oneself to be perfect is... often the sign of a delusional mind. In that sense, can you really say you know whether a world is the right one for everyone based on your own single judgment?"//

Lucifer's Call [Encounter 3 :: Recollections I] 0WJIFJ3

//"Though doubt is no reason to be discouraged, is it?"//

Nevertheless, it was now time for Luc-- pardon, Lou Siffer to speak. Shiina would fall quiet and listen intently to the events he described, though despite everything she didn't feel her anger return at the sight. It was something she had learned in this past night: the past is nothing but the past. It cannot be changed, there's no use fearing it or becoming angry at it. To her, this was simply valuable insight into events that could influence the future...

//"...I see. I'm glad we both know of this now, I suppose."// A calm that could only be bred in the midst of this chaos. //"He's certainly an interesting presence, I can see that much. For some context, I met him some time during that day five years ago. He was an eccentric fellow... and that's all I really know. If he's both our enemy..."// Shiina turned towards the other Wild Card. //"Then I want you to overcome him as well. I'll take nothing less than meeting you at the top."//

And that, really, was all she had to say about this. With a chuckle that developed into a low laugh, Shiina drifted back to the real world once more, satisfied that her fellow Wild Card still held fast to his ideals...
