Actresses and Actors (Community Request Mission)

He had put the job aid up and felt like he had to wait an eternity for a response, but responses did come. Just two really. A disappointing turn out? No. He could’ve had none respond and then where would he be? Pissed and raging over wasted art that is where he would be, but alas the night was saved! At least his play could be displayed, but how well he would simply have to wonder as he waited patiently enough for said volunteers to arrive.

Standing outside the theater, he would pace back and forth as the mental clock in his head went tick-tock, tick tock. There was still time before the play needed to start, plenty of time to lay down the rules of this work if…if said volunteers were on time. Oh, he did hope they were on time. He didn’t want to have to dish out punishment right out the gate after all. That would make for a terrible start, wouldn’t it?

Well now to wait, but not for long.

It could perhaps be said that Dale was unsuited for the life on a performer. He had never put on a performance, he had never seen a performance, and in fact, had no idea what one even was. Why on earth he had agreed to be a part of one then was anyone's guess.
...oh, yes.

He could learn fast enough, right?

He found his way to the meeting spot, Chip on his shoulder, and a little light of recognition shined in his eyes as he spotted who was there. "You...liquid junc-son."

Tin had only one reason to accept the request, it fell under the parameters of "Aid Inhabitants of the city" one of his primary parameters, and so even though he didn't know to what end he was meant to aid, a call for aid was given and so he answered. Gently trudging along the streets looking quite out of place due to his simple build and rather dirty plating he made it to the location indicated. As he walked up he spotted the man that he had seen before in the slums and it seemed he too arrived to render aid.

Looking to the man he was talking to the little robot walked forward "Greetings...are you Devi B. Sinclair? This unit is responding to the request for aid" he said simply as he looked to the pacing individual as he waited for confirmation.

Tick tock. Tick tock. Went the clock.

Click clock. Click clock. Went the strangely high heeled feet of the demon as he paced back and forth as he waited.

When the pair finally did arrive, the clicking and clocking would cease as the demon stopped in his tracks and looked up at those that had come as his tail flicked. Automatically a grin came over his face as his red eyes met the face of someone familiar.


“Well if it isn’t the man from the mountain and his little doggy. Devi is very glad to see you again,” the creature would say before blinking and looking down at the smaller of the pair. “Oho and a machine friend too,” he would clap in delight. “We are indeed Devi B. Sinclair, but call us Devi. It a pleasure to meet you, little…?” The demon would pause as a soft purr came from him as he stretched out his arms welcoming the little one and the man to introduce themselves if they liked. Though whether they did or not was would soon not matter as Devi spun on one foot and beckoned for them to come into the theater as he lead his way.

“Your timing is purrfect. We were in need of some actors and actress to fill in for a play we are doing, but alas my normal cast decided tonight was a good time to slack off, so the ad went out.” As annoying as that was... but hey he had two vi-err- actors for tonight’s show, so he wouldn’t complain as he made his way down the winding halls until they ended up backstage.

“Now then,” he would say spinning to turn them. “As delighted as we are to have you volunteer. If you want what we offer, you must first earn it. The play tonight is very special and all we need for you to do is play the parts and make it entertaining for the guests. It must be perfect. Got it?" He would say grinning...though it looked like he was baring fangs more so than anything; however, the look would soften as he continued. “Now are there any questions before I set you out in the spot light?”

As he followed Devi down the halls that twisted and turned, tracking his route and watching for anything dangerous, Dale found that he definitely did have questions. He had lots of questions.
Always did, really.
"What's a cast and slacking off, and why did the first one think now was good to do the other one when this play thing was happening? What's an actor, what's an actress, how do we play the parts?"
He paused, deep in thought..."Why is this play special, anyway? And why does it need to be so perfect?"

Yup, that was all the important ones.

Tiny Tin Was about to introduce himself when the Creature that preferred to be called Devi offered a hand, and Tiny Tin took the hand and shook it gently, "This unit is known as Tiny Tin" he said as the demon then turned around and proceeded into the building and so the little robot followed along looking around a bit as his scanners were checking the place to see what help might be needed.

Though it turned out that the help needed wasn't of the mechanical nature, it was apparently that this Demon needed actors for the play, and that was the reason for the request for help, Tin hadn't seen a lot of plays, not since the ARK's were separate and not this amalgamation they called junction, but he understood the Idea of what it meant. He decided that he would try to help as he did answer the request after all, and as the Demon turned to them as they apparently reached their destination Tiny Tin looked to the demon as he asked if there were questions.

Before he could ask however Dale had suddenly started to ask a lot, and it seemed all of them were of the simple type, he had questions about the terms used, and the like, then he asked about the reason the play was special and why it had to be perfect, decent questions in all honesty, especially if someone wasn't familiar with theater. Tiny Tin Waited for the torrent of questions from his companion to be over and then asked his own.

"What roles are you assigning to us? do you have a script for us to read before we go on stage? what is the basic premise of the play?" he asked simply as he looked at the demon and awaited the answers.

It was strange having his hand shaken by a machine, but equally thrilling at the same time. He wasn't sure why, but he found these living puppets fascinating. They mimicked the living so well and yet there was debate in some circles if these machines were living or not. Perhaps they were both living and dead all at once and no one was right at all. It was indeed a strange mystery, but one the demon wouldn’t focus on too much as he gave the small one a smile. “The pleasure is mine meeting you,” he would tell the unit before becoming focus on the task at hand and in turn leading the way inside.

As they neared the stage, he asked if there were questions...and questions did come. As Dale rattled off his questions, the demon would give him a few blinks and a blank look as he tried to simply digest what was being said. This one was special. He knew that from the moment he met the guy in the mountains. It made him wonder, if he didn’t understand the words currently coming out of his mouth then how would he handle the play. Hmmm….this was going to get very interesting indeed and what was that?

Red eyes would blink and look at the smaller of the pair as the unit asked the more expected questions. Looking up at the ceiling, the demon would tap his chin in thought before answering what he heard. His eyes would go to Dale first.

“A cast is a group of beings that actually performs plays on stage. In a nutshell, what you have become by agreeing to help me. As for slacking off, it simply means they are not here doing said job though I have no idea why they decided to flutter away at a time like this. Perhaps they simply did not want to deal with new friends,” the demon said with a flick of his tail before humming at the last one. “An actor is a male that plays the role of a character on stage while the female is called an actress. As for how to play the parts, you just do what comes natural too you and try not to f- err…mess up the flow of the play,” Devi would finish, his tone remaining friendly all the same as he gave the other a grin before turning to Tiny Tim.

“This one doesn’t have a script, but rather has a loose flow I’ll leave for you to figure out. It is really impromptu theater this, but that is what makes it so fun. As for what it is about, well it is a play that questions if man really understands his lot in life. Your purpose on the stage is to make the play go forward by playing the role of your everyday man. You will run into many challenges along the way, but I am sure you’ll get out of each just fine.” The demon would say with a nod and a chuckle, but then remembering he had missed a questions or two he’d look back at Dale.

“It is special because of the new toys I will be using to help us entertain the guests. As for why it has to be perfect,” he would chuckle almost maliciously at that one. “Well, you will learn soon enough why perfection is key to art. Now then, are we ready to begin?" he would ask as he watched the other two to see if they had more questions or concerns.

He got answers to his questions that he mostly understood. Though...he only found himself with more questions.
Perhaps, more concerning ones.
Things like what kind of 'friends' these were that the old cast would avoid them, or why all they really needed to do was what they normally did. What he normally did wasn't...'entertaining'? Entertaining. Not by the definition he knew, not by the reactions he knew to it.
Let alone...'new toys'? Challenges?
The passive darting of his eyes only got worse at that. While he didn't know how these things normally went, having to be told they'd probably be fine meant there was a chance they wouldn't.
He was getting a bad feeling about this.

"...yes...I'm...ready."

Tiny Tin listened to the explanations, glad to see that Devi didn't mind clearing up Dale's confusion, at least partially, which was good, and he then answered his own questions as he continued on and explained that there was no script, the play was about about understanding ones place, and they were to play the role of an ordinary citizen, honestly it sounded like something he MIGHT be able to do, he wasn't sure yet, technically he was already a normal citizen, then again he wasn't an "Every day man" or even alive like a man, so it would remain to be seen if he could manage as such.

After hearing the rest of the explanation that he gave Dale, Tiny Tin looked to the man, then to Devi then back again as Dale gave the okay, though he seemed a bit stressed, maybe he was worried he couldn't do the task? Ether way they were here now and Tiny Tin would do his very best to help out and so he looked to Devi and nodded "This Unit is ready to proceed with the activities" he stated as he stood ready to go where he was told.

This was delightful or at least for him it was. The pair before him didn’t have anymore questions and confirmed in their own ways that they were ready to get the show on the road. While he did give Dale a glance at his shaky answer, the demon would clap his hands together once before melting into the ground and reappearing behind the pair.

“Excellent. Now get out there and wow the crowd!” he would say with almost too much glee in his voice as he gave each a light nudge on the back, trying to push them towards the curtain that led on stage. Whether they resisted, was shoved, or went on their own, in time the pair would find themselves on a large stage made of wood. The background was a forest and outside of themselves the stage was empty, but not the theater itself.

The theater itself was filled with what sounded like barking and meowing, but as soon as they came on the stage the place became quiet. If the pair should take a look at their audience they would soon find out the source of the strange noise. The theater was packed alright, but not with people. Instead the chairs were filled with large cats with horns and large dogs with wings. Each were about the size of a human and sat like one too even though they were not one. Glowing eyes would focus on the pair on stage, expecting a good show as they sat in an eerie silence.

Grinning to himself back stage, the demon would flutter up to the catwalks and pull a lever or two releasing the first of his toys onto the stage – a spider made of a large twitching human head with multiple human arms attached to it hanging from a thick web that came from somewhere behind it. This fanged monstrosity would eye the pair on stage before speaking.

“Audience and humans, my name is Death. I have come before you all today to collect the souls before me as commanded by master The High Spirit.” The creature would tremble all over its face morphing into something more demonic and hungry as from its hands curved blades glistening too much to be fake appeared. Grasping those blades the imposing figure would continue as its rotating eyes locked on Dale and Tiny. “Come to me to the land of Judgement to find where you your soul will go for eternity.” The creature would click and creak as it swayed slightly above the stage. It would spread its arms wide as if welcoming them to come and embrace it, question was would they?

Tiny Tin looked to the creature that was representing death, he had heard about plays or things of that nature that pit man against death, some had them challenge death to a game of some sort, ether to win, or to simply increase their time living and take the time to better understand death, Others had them face death and be taken only to face challenges on the other side that would prove their character and decide where they should go, the issue was these plays all had one thing in common, they were scripted, this play was not, it was what was known as improve, and they were told to act the part of an everyday man is death meant to be one of these challenges? or was he the vehicle to take them to such challenges? or was he the thing to be challenged?

Tiny Tin took a moment to ponder, which thankfully wasn't really all that long due to his mind being a computer. But as Death was shown as highly formidable, perhaps challenging him wasn't meant to be the path? he also took orders from someone else, which was different then most representations of death where he simply took people when it was their time, so if he is taking orders, and he is made to be formidable....perhaps the correct path was going with him to face the challenges of getting judged? after all a normal human could not be expected to challenge death and win....nor could a normal man reason with death or a higher power...so with those logically cleared he simply stepped forward "We are ready to go to the land of Judgement, to see what will become of our souls" he said as he looked to the large creature.

A spattering of applause filled the theater. Murmurs of approval actor's choice and reaction, yet worry that perhaps it was not the most logical choice. Regardless there was a general sense of approval from the audience for the choice made. Death would nod to both Tin and Dale before turning to the audience and raising it's cloaked arms to the skies... Outside, what could only be described as the starting of a rainstorm could be heard, light drops hit the roof and fell through the holes there in.

“Ah, you do not resist your fate nor do you attempt to bargain from it. A noble choice beholds a noble soul. Though as I approve, I fear that I am not thee who will pass judgement at your final moment. Nay I am but a messenger,” Fog filled the stage as from stage left a large pearly gate would be wheeled in. The gate seemed to be reused form a different set as it's black wrought iron seemed oddly out of place in the pearly white fog. “Go now damned, and seek though the gates of purgatory for the lord thy God when your preparations for judgment are complete... Seek now those who would speak on your behalf before the judgment of thy creator, and bring them here so that they may bring you salvation, or damnation. Pray tell, who will you seek?”



The doors to the theater open and close as a new audience member has joined...The lights above reflecting off her pristine white skin.

Rain...? He thought that was what it was called...he didn't think they had it here, except in some of those special places that were here, but it was dropping in here.
It was strange, and not in a good way. The last thing this weird that happened across the city...that giant...thing showed up.
He was so, so happy it never came in.

That was the thought that snapped him from the abject terror that came with Death, and with the robot with him saying they'd go with it of all things. But...the expected didn't come, and Dale looked around with wild eyes as the cruelly bladed monster spoke words he barely understood, and people brought on a gate on wheels while fog filled the area.
...it almost didn't seem real, what was happening here.
Maybe it wasn't?
But the rain was still there, and whether it was real or not, this thing was saying to look for someone to...help? Say things for them?
But who...

Atop his shoulder, Chip nuzzles against Dale's cheek, soothing and pulling the attention of the android. Worming an idea into his head.
"...if someone's talking for me, I'd want the ones who stay with me..."

Tiny Tin listened to the being representing death, and the sounds of rain and the like happening as the gate was wheeled out, Dale seemed to be considering his options, though to Tiny Tin there was nothing else to think of to speak for him, his life had been designed for and planned for helping others, he did not see why this was any different, even his reason for being here was to help another, and so as he looked up at the creature he was about to speak when Dale spoke up apparently talking for himself this time.

His answer was a good one as well, at least so far as Tiny Tin was concerned, he too may have chosen it, the companionship of those close to you could very well speak a great deal, however the small robots mind was already made up as it waited for it's turn to speak, and as Dale finished what he had to say Tiny Tin looked up once more to the being representing death.

"I believe the good deeds I have done have some measure of who I am This one would like to seek out those that they have helped through life if that is possible" he said simply with a little bow as he waited for the response from death.
