| Takeru sighed as he walked into the seemingly empty literature club. "Did I come to the wrong place...?" he mutterred. "This can't have been all she wrote..." he thought. Because to him, this was just sad. Then again, reading wasn't that popular. Sad, but true. He really wished the libraries were appreciated more...

| It was at that moment, Rui, the only member of the Endy Endy Literature Club walked in the room, carrying a small book. - Spoiler:
Much to his surprise, another student was already there for some reason. The room was spacious and large, but it has always been empty, except for one member - Rui. A student who stood out for many reasons. Rui's body was quite lifelike, but it was fairly small, and this was notable when interacting with other students. For once, he had stumbled onto a student who was significantly than he was. For once, he could feel his age! Which mean he had to put on the best present. He tilted his head at the new student and soothingly asked, "Oh, hello there. Welcome to the Literature Club. Could I help you with anything?"

| As for the person that walked in, he was pleasantly surprised. "Oh, hello. Are you the club president? I have an application to join the Literature club here." he said, showing him the application. For the most part, he was glad there was someone else. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad. They seemed like a nice person.
After all, this wouldn't be anything like a certain club-hijacking brigade, where you had a alien, a time-traveler, a esper, and what may or may not be god in human form. ... right?

| Of all of the ways that he had expected to get a new member, this was probably the least expected. It was inevitable that his various methods of fending off school policy enforcement would fail and he would no longer be the only member of the Literature Club. But he had expected some truly degrading antics would be necessary in order to get the second member.
But no, someone literally walked into the door and handed in an application to join. This gave Rui the suspicion that this person was going to be far more intense and "legit" than Rui, who was really at best a placeholder President.
Rui...was in fact capable of reading and did so every once in a while (though much less now than in his younger ages), but he really joined the club simply because it had apparently a high amount of club resources, a very nice room, and very few members.
He was happy to get more members, but he suspected he might end up being very disappointing to any more dedicated members.
Rui was quite surprised, but he only let it show through a brief movement in his right eyebrow.
"Wonderful. I am. Accepted as of immediately." He immediately moved to reach and try to take the application out of the boy's hands, not wanting to give him a chance to reconsider his decision.
Anyways, I am Rui Terui. He would normally introduce himself a first-year, but he suspected it would be demoralizing having a first-year as President.

| He smiled. "Alright!" he said.
As for the introduction... "Nice to meet you, Rui! Where are the other members?" he asked him.
"I mean, a room like this.. it HAS to have some pretty good members, right...?" he asked him.

| The dreaded question came pretty quickly. Rui quickly stuffed the club application into his pockets in hopes that the new club member would be unable to take back the application. He quickly scanned the name, realizing that he was Takeru Kagemaru, another first year.
Rui chuckled a little oddly, more as if he was pretending to be nervous than if he actually was nervous, putting his two index fingers together in front of him, "Heheh. About that..."
Here came the truth, "Well, there aren't any. I guess young people don't read anymore...well, present company excluded. Sort of."
Rui read, but he often rushed through books, almost as if he were skimming them.

| The nervous laughter was the first sign. He had read enough books to know what that meant. Hell, he had even done it himself. ".... there's actually no one else, is there?" he thought.
Rui confirmed it an instant later. "... I knew it." he thought.
He just sighed. "Yare yare daze... sad, but true." he responded.

| Rui shrugged. It wasn't all bad. In fact, there were many upsides.
"Hey, it just means we all get a larger slice of the club budget. Not that I'd particularly know what to do with it. Buying books is rather silly when we can just walk to and from the school library."
He thought for a second, "Well, unless we only collect books the library would never stock..."
