Fidgetting Around [Morning NPC - Frog x The Reporter]

Ever since the last night and the talk about spreading the news and the fact his proposition was swiftly shot down by the dumbasses in the Platinum Playhouse Frog was quite upset over the whole ordeal and he couldn't stop his body from moving as if pulled by gravity towards the media platform he first suggested as their best shot at telling the story-the NEWSSSS.

Hands in pockets, head down with a groaning frustrated and tired mumbling in the background of his echoing stepwork, Frog entered the building of SMILE, where he knew the Reporter they'd met on their first night as Terrorists resided. He would glance around the building entrance to see if she was nearby or perhaps he'd seen her in front of the building and so never had to enter it. Regardless, the young man would take several strides towards the woman and wait for her to notice him as he pouted like a kid whose candy got stolen.

The days went on, and the Reporter had plenty of work to do still. However it would be this day in particular where she was not operating at 100% so to speak. She yawned as she walked towards the studio, mumbling to herself words from a notepad she had written on. It was a potential interview, something she might be able to pull off if she just got her questions right. She wanted to be able to recite them quickly, as if she got done in time maybe there were other things she could ask during said interview. As she walked towards the tower, she would somehow feel a presence near her, and slowly turn to see a familiar young man, in fact...

"Oh! I remember you. You were there when I had my first scoop the other day. You alright?" She said with an unsure smile. Part of her couldn't entirely remember the events of that night, maybe she passed out somewhere? Maybe her memory is going bad already?

"O-oh!" Frog placed a hand over his mouth in surprise as his eyes darted open and he jumped up a bit. As much as he was looking to be noticed by the woman, he also wasn't expecting her to outright recognize him and actually show any interest in his presence whatsoever. In hindsight, such an assumption was just wrong, since he knew what kinda lady she was from that night-kinda wacky if nothing else. But that was the enjoyable part of her.

"You actually remembered me?" Frog was still dazed a bit, but his arm slouched slowly back down and his posture relaxed once again. He smiled as he tilted his head to the side. "I'm alright, I was actually looking for you..? Or not. Maybe I wasn't..." The events from the night came back to him and he remembered how they'd pushed the Reporter into the van and just left her there. He cringed inside but tried to keep a semi-composed outward appearance at the very least.

"You were? Or weren't...?" She said tilting her head in a strange way. He didn't seem at full one-hundred percent himself. Maybe he was tired himself? Maybe she could come up with something to at least brighten both of their days. Perhaps...

"Oh, I have an idea. Did you come to give me a good scoop? Or did you want to look together for one? I got a couple things to do later, but if you have the plans, we can find something good." She seemed to smile a bit more and walked closer to Frog, nearly hopping towards his side, putting her notes near her body as if to keep them safe before reaching him.

Tsk...how was he supposed to respond to her now. Frog's posture bent away from the Reporter slightly, his hand grasping the back of his head to scratch it in a nervous fashion. He wanted to tell her what they had but he also couldn't risk the possibility of being exposed. Still...his lips weren't all that tight...he could easily just spill some hint or something.

The young man sighed, letting his arm and back droop forwards. His hands joined together as his fingers fidgeted around. He didn't look at her. "You could say it could be seen as a scoop...kinda. More of a hint...but first I wanna ask how much you remember from the night we've first met? When me and my friends were helping you out? You were seeking a scoop back then as well. Did you get anything?"

"Ohhh?" Now she was interested. She looked curiously at him before he switched gears to ask another question, to which she was slightly disappointed. "I have some details I guess, but nothing concrete. Nothing that can help me get a good story!" She said almost dejectedly now in mourning of the story that could have been. Perhaps she could find a way to get an interview with the Phantom again and get something more proper that could be put into TV. However that seemed to be a pipe dream for the moment. "But you had a hint you say? Is it about that night or something else?"

Her answer didn't give away nearly as much as Frog was hoping it would. He needed to know how much she was aware of...but then again she was probably really just out for the night when she collapsed. Also she seemed rather excited about his supposed 'hint', putting him in an awkward position as he too was quite awkward and didn't really want to displease her. He couldn't keep it from her but he also couldn't keep it just for himself. Well so long as she didn't know his na-oh right...he had to sign for the job he took for her.

Frog sighed. "It's not about that night. It was actually just a rumor I'd heard lately regarding some slippery information about one of the district heads. It's probably all baseless banter going around the school, but if I were looking for a scoop I'd be on a lookout for it. Something tells me the rumors might spread soon, considering uhm...the subject they deal with..."

"The rumors might spread? Well I have to know! What is it all about?" She was more intrigued that he apparently had a rumor that he could talk about. And it was spreading around the school? Did that mean that the students knew something the rest of the public didn't? She wasn't sure if she knew this rumor, so perhaps it was something she had heard before. At the same time however, it could be something entirely new. It would be even more exciting!

Nyeeeeh....now Frog was immediately starting to regret his idea. Not only did the little knowledge he'd shared only rile the Reporter up, now she seemed fervent about getting to the bottom of it even if she had to claw it out of him with her bare hands. Or well, at least that was the impression Frog was getting. She was probably far less...or more manic than that.

"It's really a touchy subject I don't wanna get caught discussing it." Frog looked up and started scratching the back of his head vigorously as he spoke, his voice now a nervous ramble. "I'm just telling you to be on the lookout so you can catch news of the rumor faster than any of your possible competition, isn't that enough? Because it's gotta be...since that's all I can say right now, sorry...please just wait a bit and you'll hear it yourself..."

The Reporter frowned, clearly disappointed that it ended up being a huge tease. "Ohhhh why not? You gotta tell me, it'll remain between us as far as secrets go. I guess I'll look, but that's a bit vague..." she said crossing her arms in confusion at the thought. She wasn't entirely sure what he was going on about and didn't know if it even led to a good story. But even aside from that, he definitely seemed nervous; she definitely thought with enough prodding that maybe he could talk about it. A reporter wouldn't give up this easily by one sense of refusal. "What is stopping you from telling me? Something personal or important?"

Oh boy she was biting hard and Frog was losing it right there. Pushing against her would prove increasingly difficult for him and end up devastating his nerves. He could already see himself breaking like a twig between her jagged reporterly teeth, his spine so easily snapping as his mind would as well under the immense preasure that was his existence right now, stuck inside a conundrum of Terroristry and everyday boring school life, who would even want that? Like, pick one, not both, and this was so painful he wanted to scream!

....and in the next moment Frog found himself sprinting away from the Reporter, sweating like hell and turning the first corner he could find. He would disappear for a moment as he rummaged through his backpack to pull out a pen and rip some paper out of a notebook. He quickly scribbled something onto it and ran around the next corner in order to approach the spot he left the Reporter at from the back. He would then run up to her back and poke her shoulder and when she'd probably turn to face him, he'd push the paper into her hands. "I ain't good with words in these situations. But I can write it. Here's the general idea."

The paper read: 'dinner music'.

The Reporter merely blinked when the young man began running away from her. It was so out of nowhere she really didn't have the thought of potentially chasing him down. She had almost begun to walk in that direction, but she had not begun to pick up the pace until she felt a finger on her back. And naturally she turned to face him, taking the paper with the strange cryptic hint. "Eh? How odd. But a hint you say? I like the way you think! So be it, I'll take it with a thanks!" she eyed it a bit, as though there may have been some clue hidden away; perhaps invisible ink or something else.

"Does this mean you are going to be going to this 'dinner music' thing? I'll be sure to join you. Is there a place I should look for you at?"

"A-er...No, I'm not, but people will be there, from what I've heard. I've got exams and all that regular school stuff and whatnot. And it's music, so it's probably about Suzie Q, y'know. I've never been much into the music scene, so Iunno if there's anything major that's supposed to be happening there some of these days, but eh?" Frog shrugged. The Reporter's readiness to act still scared him a bit. It just goes to show how some people are ready to go far to achieve what they want. Everyone should be more like that, er...especially him.

"Anyways, that's really all I know so I'll have to be going now, all right? Thank you for your time, I seriously wasn't expecting to actually get to talk to you as much as I did. You're much more approachable than people would expect." As he spoke, Frog began walking back slowly. His body language had loosened up a bit and he was no longer standing flat as a plank. He even genuinely smiled at her, letting his shirt ruffle around him. "Wait, d-do you have a contact or something? You know, just in case." Frog would ask and would wait for the Reporter to hand him a business card or tell him her number or email or anything, really, before waving her goodbye and going home.

He was really hoping he didn't screw anything up by going to meet her.
