Oversight [Dungeon Dash] (Jackie)

"Are you alright? Do you have control over yourself now?" the Cadet asked the previous charmed ASSW. Kerrigan retained his usual composure. But it concealed the utter contempt he held for his peer. Joseph was annoyed and importantly had concerns of his Jackie's personal ability. It was one thing to trust an individual with your back. But it was a completely different situation to surrender trust to someone who turned on you. He was well aware his fellow peer experienced mental interference, but none of the soothing assurances could assist him to give that much trust ever again. Yet, he was stuck with this heavy weight for the rest of this night to much of his frustration and ire. His Persona dissipated upon dismissal and he could feel his mind become clear again.


He swung his blade to the side before deigning to sheathe it. Combat was over for the time being and it was going to be another reprieve while potentially a report to be written up later to present to the Prince. Joseph remembered hearing his siblings complain about writing them and how they were such irritants. But never mind these trivialities, this was his first victory as a Cadet outside of passing the test Julius thrust upon them. He could feel himself growing stronger slowly, but surely. His path to reaching the zenith of power was coming along nicely, despite the initial setbacks. He couldn't dare complaining about it since this was their second battle.

"Do you have any supplies? I said before we'll be here for a while. We'll be needing all we can get to last these rounds." Complaints or praises, it was still a taxing measure to fend off and exterminate these demons. Joseph didn't look forward to any continuations, but for his own goals, they were required and necessary. He began adopting a different stance before continuing down the path. Like before, he kept his senses open and aware to his surroundings. Accordingly there were signs of other presences and none of them appeared to be a human's.

His nameless blade flashed under the moonlight. Battle continuing, Kerrigan made his next few steps before speaking to Jackie.

There was a moment of clarity, after a moment. Corruption in his optics vanished, and suddenly his vision was clear again...and apparently the battle was over. What had happened while he was blacked out...and why were his MP3 files and speech files mixed up? After fixing the problem, he gave an emulated groan. "...What happened? Last t-thing I remember one of the demons hit me with some attack...and then a bunch of files got corrupted..." Jackie shook his head. "They're dead now...?" He took the fact that the demons were gone as a yes. Good. Anything that could corrupt him like that needed to be destroyed before they could harm the city. "Oh, right." He took out one of the items he had bought. A something-soul, and followed the instructions he was given. He quietly turned on his MP3 player, making sure it was only audible to himself. It truly was a total eclipse of the heart...

"...My priorities are straight, I just...I think I lost control for a second there. I'm sorry." Jackie sighed, rubbing his arm. Maybe he really wasn't cut out for being a cadet. If it was that easy for him to turn on his allies...he went silent, and got back to work, following Joseph, eyes forward. "...I'll do better in the next fight. I promise." Jackie suddenly stated. Right. There was always THAT. He could clean up whatever demons were up next easily with that sort of power. Sure, there was a danger of overheating, but if the enemies were gone, it wouldn't matter. He had been waiting for a good time to finally use it, anyway. After his failures in his first two battles, now seemed like a good enough time to break out the big guns. Well. Not his mini-gun, but still! And it wasn't as if he had been told to only save it for emergencies, or something like that. Showing off wasn't in his nature, but he felt like he needed to prove he was actually useful SOMEHOW. Besides just happening to have enough cash to buy supplies.

At least they were still alive, and in good-ish shape. It meant they could continue on, and defeat more demons. More dead demons would surely be good to report in about, assuming that the corruption wasn't enough to get him kicked from the cadets...was that even possible? He wasn't sure. Either way, there were more demons ahead, and Jackie was ready to show how strong he actually was.
