"One should always do one's best, or so the saying goes. Or so something goes." Gus shrugged with a cheeky grin. He was sure he'd heard stuff like that somewhere. The cat was fun and probing in the way it addressed him. He could appreciate such an interaction, so long as he spoke in riddles and the cat continued questioning.
He chuckled.

Placing a hand onto his head, Gus lowered his eyes and laid them upon Cryox. He observed the cat for a moment before closing them and letting his back slouch. It made him look shorter and stubbier as he sat on the trash can. "Only if it were safe?" Gus feigned a disappointed voice to no avail. It would be apparent he was jesting more. "And thank you. I've been practicing my pick-ups. One never knows when they could come in handy."

The feline would twitch his ears at that answer. ''Pfweh, but if you do that then you can't even trick anyone. It's not always cool to have everyone know your true abilities.'' At times, it way more useful to keep some things in the dark for a while. Whether due to strategy in a conflict, or just for the heck of it. Spooking people when they thought they already had it all figured out could be really amusing. Gotta do something to brighten up your day, neh?

''Do you want to get bitten?'' Seriously though, he rolled at his own pace. If he felt like biting, he would. If not, then no. It was however nice to know you weren't getting yourself in deep shit by doing it, you know? Some things just aren't really worth it. He would tilt his head at the guy slightly. ''Can't get a date without a pick-up line? Maybe you should work on natural appeal instead, big guy.'' Heh, well who really falls for silly lines anyway? They're kind of a bit obsolete in many situations.

"I'm rich, isn't that enough?" Gus smirked at the cat. There really wasn't anything serious behind his words but it felt like the cat was taking them seriously or at least at face value, and responding to them accordingly, as if they were actual legitimate statements and not musings of a bored demon.

Regardless, it was nigh time for Gus to leave, so he got up from his comfortable trash can throne. "It was entertaining talking to you." He gave a slight nod to the other, picking the trash can's cover and using it as a hat to add to the goodbye gesture he was making. "Hopefully we can meet again. I wouldn't be oppose to letting you steal some of my food next time."

''Is it?'' Was he taking the guy seriously? Well, that was something the other could only try to guess. What he was replying with didn't have to mean either, as he had to respond somehow whether he took it seriously or not. Unless the guy expected to receive random stuff in return as a proof that it was all seen as a joke. Nah. Besides, sometimes it could be amusing to seemingly 'play along' too. The feline would blink at the dude, somewhat confused at what the whole act with the trash can was about. Neh, someone sure liked to present themselves as odd, that was for sure. Was the guy some sort of entertainer or something? ''Be careful what you ask for.'', he would retort in return, giving the man a fanged grin before running off somewhere himself.
