| "No it's just old. I have to make sure all the parts are now properly cleaned before I reassemble your timepiece" I tell him as I inspected each individual gear, including the replacements, to make sure they were all in pristine condition now. After giving everything a once over I bring back the manual and begin to reassemble the clock, occasionally double checking with the blueprint to make sure all of them went in correctly. I had done this millions of times now and could probably do it with my eyes closed if I had to.
"I should have your alarm clock working relatively soon, then you won't miss any more mornings..." I tell the man as I put my goggles back on, carefully screwing in each individual mechanism with surprising speed. "The price for repairing this old thing will probably come out to... I'd say 50 dollars. It would usually be cheaper but this was some heavy duty maintenance"

| Gus merely nodded and reached into his robes, pulling out 50 dollars worth of bills, and then another, equating to 100 dollars, which he placed on the table next to Nagami as the boy worked away at the alarm clock. He could see the job was reaching its close and that he would soon be able to return to his regular schedule, no longer sleeping through entire days at a time. It'd be a nice change of pace to return to the regular pace, and it pleased the large demon. So much so he had to clap his hands together, a meaty echo.
"Perfect then. You've done well, young clocksmith." He nodded with his bellowing voice, eyes transfixed on the reassembly process. The way all gears and pieces were placed back together to form the clock once again was truly magnificent and he couldn't look away. It was like building a wall of stone, just stone. Nothing else to support it, yet it was as hard a real wall. The inside of a clock gave the same impression to Gus.

| "You know it's rare to find people who find interest in my work" I tell him, screwing in the last couple of pieces before giving the clock a couple test rotations to see that everything was put in right. Slowly and carefully I put my screwdriver in and turned one of the gears, watching as all the other components turned in response. Repeating a couple more times to make sure nothing had gone unnoticed I finish up and put the clock on the counter.
It glimmered and an acute ticking noise could be heard as the minute and second hands turned, moving further and further away from the time they had been stuck at for so long. "There ya go, good as almost new," I say, beaming as I took one last gander at my own work before looking expectantly at my customer.

| Gus smiled eagerly. "It's a sad truth. People don't appreciate clockworks in this day and age and city, where everything had already gone digital." Shaking his head, he got up. "Your work is fascinating in the very least as is the fact you still have work. Either way, your payment is on the table. I can only thank you for your hard work now." The large man walked over to the alarm clock and picked it up carefully to examine its brand new form. It was fascinating, hardly his old alarm clock anymore. And also enthralling and beautiful in a strange way, even more so now that he knew what hid within its shell.
"Until we meet again."
