The Warriors Heart (Gabe)

ZAku's response made Gabe gulp a bit hard, was this really the same girl that he saw at the restaurant? He wasn;t sure if she was acting a bit reserved outside of the dojo, or was this possible her own way of getting a little payback at Gabe. He was in a pretty bad mood at that time, so he could understand if he came off a bit snobby, that memory made him a bit apologetic. She had her points, and the only way that Gabe was to get better is by practicing.

"Alright, i'll sign up then. I'll be happy if you took me on as a student. He continued to hold the stance, trying a little bit harder this time around in order to take up the form properly.

Zaku raised an eyebrow as he agreed to sign up "for the regular course or the fast track? Zaku?" she asked as her cowlick seemed to be acting like it was trying to not burst out laughing at the current situation, Zaku meanwhile only continued to look at him with that same stern Instructor stare as she watched him trying to improve the stance, though it was obvious that this would take time, he was having issues just holding the stance let alone do the Kata for the proper stretching and she had to wonder if he would put his all into this.

"Think hard on that...Learning Martial arts whether fast or not will be demanding on your body if your not used to it, and the beginnings of the proper training will be to prepare your body, you have a long way to go on that side of things, and I am a stern but fair instructor....can you accept that? Zaku?" she asked as she continued to look at him, arms crossed and that stern look fixed on him as she waited for an answer.

I think the regular course would be something that we can call upon as an optimal choice. I don't believe that any shortcuts really exist in order to get what you want. As for the difficulties of learning martial arts, it sounds a lot like the difficulties of life as it is. Which is something that I know I can handle. 'Gabe said this with a bit of confidence, hoping that Zaku could atleast see that he was serious about protecting himself. Though, he wouldn't reveal what he would be using this for.

Zaku looked at Gabe a moment as he made his little speech, and she shook her head a bit "Short cuts exist, but they are never the easy path, few realize this, and it goes double for learning the martial arts Zaku" she said as she looked at him, the second question coming to mind as she looked him up at down, he fit the typical look of one that might be picked on, or maybe he was one of those that looked like one that was bullied but actually did the bullying, the meeting before seemed to indicate that. though now here he was showing her politeness, though that might have been because he realized she might be able to help him get stronger, and because he probably realized that she might be able to beat the ever living tar out of him.

"Zaku does have a question....Why do you want to learn the martial arts? What goal do you have in mind? and why does it require these skills? Zaku?" she asked still looking at him with that air of a stern sensei as she studied him to see if he would try to lie to her, though she didn't think she was that good at reading people, but if she didn't believe or like his answer she could simply refuse him the classes as was her right as the owner.

"I refuse to answer...." Gabe would say as he looked up and folded his arms, his gaze was unwavering from hers. "What you are right now... the teacher, meaning, the responsibility lies with me as to what i do with the teaching. Regardless of how i feel, or what i aspire to use it for, theoretically, it shouldn't bother you. Look at it this way, if i said something heroic and then went behind your back and used it for dishonest things, isn't that alot worse? Lying to you?"

She didn't have to understand Gabe's personality, even Gabe didn't fully know what he was going to do with his skills in the end. "If you must have an answer, I feel like I lost something. I think with buiding myself, it's one of the many things i need to take it back."

Zaku raised an eyebrow at his answer or lack of one, then he expanded on it and she shook her head as he finished, "As your Sensei you are Zaku's responsibility until the day you surpass Zaku, or Zaku recognizes you as one that can stand on his own, everything you do will reflect on this dojo and on Zaku as a sensei, if you use these skills for good purpose then Zaku have no need to worry...if you go do evil Then Zaku will need to set you on the proper path..as is a sensei's duty to his students. Zaku".

Maybe it wasn't a mind set the boy had due to how the world was, so she thought it best to explain it to him "The Student of a Dojo has responsibilities, you are a representative of the Dojo, your actions reflect on everything that this Dojo stands for. As Zaku said, even on the Sensei of the Dojo, society these days takes that responsibility away, telling you that you only need to look out for yourself, and that you stand alone, That is not true in a Dojo, especially in Zaku's. Zaku" she looked at him with that same air about her of someone that knew what they were talking about, but that's because this is how she was taught, how she learned, and it was how she was going to teach others.

Though Gabe then gave her an answer and she smiled a bit as she closed her eyes and nodded "Now THAT...that is an answer Zaku can respect....and understand, Very well then..Zaku will Accept you as her student..welcome to the Warrior's Heart. Zaku" she smiled at him as she smiled happily, so far she had two confirmed students, maybe...just maybe this will lead to more?
