--------------- The Thrill of the Hunt :: Fishing Thread :: ---------------
Azami awoke late at night in the Tsurinai Mansion. A terrible hunger overtook her and feeling a craving for fish she decided to sneak out. While she didn't know the city that well, she was nevertheless able to pinpoint a location where fish were based off what she had heard from the conversations around her and read from a pamphlet describing Endymion's tourist attractions that she had stumbled across while wandering through East Eden. After sneaking her way to the area, she discovered it was currently devoid of any humans, a perfect chance to do some fishing. While she lacked their tools and bait, Azami felt no need to worry; her claws and mouth were sufficient enough tools for a natural-born hunter like her. Who knew? Perhaps she'd even catch something valuable and could bring it back to her master. Although then again, they'd likely wonder where she got such a rare fish from...
"Bark bark! (Time to demonstrate my skills as an apex predator! These fish don't stand a chance!)"

When her paw launched forward yet again and smashed down into the water, Azami found that it had struck nothing. A cacophony of swishes bombarded her ears as the fish of the river scattered and abandoned her to the naked moonlight. The hunt had failed; Azami, for all her training and instincts, had not been able to catch a single fish. The stars shone brightly up above, but on the ground below, the Shiba sat submerged in water, darkness, and self-pity. How could she protect Shiina if she couldn't even catch a carp? How could she fulfill her purpose as a guard dog, the purpose she had trained for her entire life?
Despair resounded in her heart, but she denied it. Azami refused to let a mere fish get the best of her. Though consumed by grief in this moment, she nevertheless managed to shoot a determined glare at the passing fish. They had bested the Shiba for today, but in doing so they had earned a powerful enemy. Azami would not rest until she had proven her superiority. In the silence of the midnight, stars and moon above illuminating her willful tears, the dog made a vow to herself and to the world: she wouldn't rest until she had caught the fish's king, the rumored legendary fish of the river. Howling to the moon to seal her oath, a great sense of melancholy pervaded the air, but underneath it raged a defiant resolve.
Just as she'd catch the terrorists of their city, she'd catch the fish too. Azami would prove there was more to her than meets the eye.
