| "Is there more to this... Or is this all I got to work with?" The artist would say as she sat on the grass in a nearby park. She was working on another art project, as seen by the multiple pencils and writing utensils surrounding her. Her sketchbook was laid out in front of her with a clean sheet of paper begging to be written on. However, she drew nothing and simply stared at what sat in front of her.
What was this legendary item one might ask? Actually, it was quite simple. It was nothing more than a gray, round rock. She had planned to pick an item and try and make it beautiful regardless of what it was... But she ended up picking a rock on a dare from a friend. "Make a rock beautiful then!" she had said, and with a proud puff of her chest she said she could. She was regretting that now.
Her reputation didn't really ride on this... But she hated coming across short. Her art was beautiful and well crafted and she put every ounce of her being into every work. But, to make something bland and simple into something worthy of being called beautiful... It didn't sound easy at all.

| And here we have our white haired, umbrella toting young attendant. Who as usual, was attending nothing at the moment. He instead was goofing off in a grassy area. He spun on one heal before flopping in the grass. "Aaaah! The fresh air is so wonderful~" he cooed as he stretched a bit and sat up. "I hope there's someone interesting around! It's so much fun to meet new people!" He said before hopping back to his feet.
He then noticed an artist at work, having some knowledge of how art work he wandered directly too her and said nothing, just watching with an eager look on his face. He leaned in to see what was on the sketch pad so far, likely invading her personal space.

| Sadly, the page would still stay blank as the artist stared at the rock. She was aware someone was leaning over her shoulder. But she really didn't mind being watched as she worked. It made her feel important that someone would take time out of their day to watch her do something. It wasn't like art was a play or music, it was long work that took a long time to create. People watched the finished project, not the process of the project. But, when people did watch her, it made her happy.
"What do you see in this rock? Anything pop out at you?" she'd ask the stranger with as she reached for a pencil and plucked it off of the grass. She'd gently start drawing an outline of the rock, detailing its curves and simple arches. She didn't fully understand what she was trying to accomplish... What could she add or subtract that would make the rock beautiful?
"I find its smoothness oddly eye-catching, personally... But, is that beautiful?" she'd muse aloud, gently humming as she pushed her tongue against her cheek. She was trying to find something that could be considered beautiful in the rock... But nothing came to mind.

| He gave a soft frown when he saw the paper was blank, was she having problems finding inspiration? Perhaps he could provide some assistance, after all that was his goal as a Velvet Room Attendant, why not give more mundane help to more mundane people? He hummed for a second as he studdied the blank page itself.
He smiled when he was addressed. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, however, finding something unique that multiple opinions can agree upon can often be difficult. Look past the shape and texture, look at the rock itself." He stepped past her and picked it up, tossing it in the air before catching it so that way it showed a different side of the rock. "Different angles and ideas can influence what you see, for example, the way you were looking you just saw a smooth round stone. But with this new angle and my input you can see something more."
He pointed to the very center of the rock and traced a spiral that could only be effectively seen from two opposing sides of the stone. "Perhaps the natural spiral of the stone could strike inspiration in this beautiful fledgling artist?"

| She'd watch as the young man stepped in front of her, picking up her rock and tossing it into the air. She'd listen to what he had to say with mild interest as she smiled at him. He was oddly charming with how he presented himself, that was nice. Charismatic people tend to get along with each other, so she felt that he'd be an easy person to talk too.
"Hm... Angles and perception... I like that idea. How to draw it, though..." she'd say quietly as she watched the young man trace out the spiral. She'd giggle gently at his compliment, tapping her pencil on the side of her sketchbook before starting to draw a more detailed picture of the rock. It started out plain and simple, but soon it took shape and motion.
The rock went from plain to something a little more special. It spiraled up ever so slightly, like the peak of a mountain poking through the clouds. The gentle, spiraling arch was like a gentle whisper, she thought. And with that idea, her mind raced. Soon hands cupped the stone, a gentle, feminine face with pursed lips seeming to blow on the once dull rock. She'd draw the rock as if it were an egg, gentle and frail yet somehow strong and resilient. The spiral arch leading way into gentle trails of smoke that fled off the stone. And with that, she was done.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? One might see just a rock while another sees a mountain... I like it." she'd say with a gentle smile as she placed the pencil down on the ground, reaching for a colored pencil as she began filling in the picture with color and life. She'd smile as grays, gentle pinks, blues, and purples brought life to the once blank canvas.
"I haven't seen you around before, have I? What brings you to this little park?" she'd ask with a small smile across her face. She enjoyed his comapny despite the lack of words they shared so far. But, one could get a lot from one's presence if they paid enough attention to their actions. She felt that he was quite the sociable person, at the very least.

| He sat through the whole drawing process, carefully observing her strokes and accentuations. He smiled and clapped when she set down her pencil. "A beautiful creation through beautiful means." He said as he held out his hand to help her up to her feet. "Created by a rather beautiful artist too~" he teased playfully. "Ah! Where are my manners! Oh Sister would scold me!" he said covering his face in a mildly dramatic pose before relaxing again.
"My name is Kris, just Kris." he said before kissing her knuckle. "It's a pleasure to meet you!" he said with a smile. "As for why I'm here, the answer is simple." he paused "Why not? I'm here to enjoy this wonderful world and everything in it! Life is fleeting and I wish not to waste what I have sitting in a box."

| She'd raise a brow before placing the last pencil back on the ground. She easily allowed him to take her outstretched hand and help her up. To say she didn't like the attention would be a lie... But she wasn't foolish enough to think she was the first one to be treated this way by him. Charming people had that trait about them.
"You're quite the charmer, aren't you?" she'd say with a small laugh as he kissed her knuckle. She held her sketchbook in her other hand, her smile ever present on her face. She enjoyed his personality, and hopefully, he enjoyed her's.
"Ah, so I suppose you flirt with most ladies you meet? Your sister would be right in scolding you." she'd childishly tease him with a small laugh afterwords. With a small tilt to her head, though, she'd nod. Most people didn't give their full name, but it felt odd he added specifically the 'just Kris' part.
"My name is Susan Marie, dear Kris. And I find that admirable of you. This world has so much to offer, why not take the time to enjoy it?" she said with an almost sage like nod. She was an artist and could appreciate the want to live life to its fullest. It inspired her in a different way, though she'd allow him to speak before talking further.

| He smiled at her softly. "Now now, no need to throw such accusations." he said playfully. "I can't simply state a woman is beautiful if I perceive her to be?" he asked before chuckling. "I prefer to think of myself as a gentleman as compared to a flirt." he added before nodding.
"Yes, you understand!" He clapped, "Everyone here in this city is lively yes, but most don't understand the concept of living life to the fullest!" He strode a few steps away to pick up his umbrella off the park bench nearby. It looked like it was bamboo and paper, but the clang when he picked it up suggested stylized metal.
"The sun is a bit harsh today however, would you like some shade m'lady Susan Marie?" he asked before opening the umbrella and holding it above her to provide shade. He didn't give her a chance to answer, but she didn't seem the type to get upset over it.

| She'd smile along with him. A gentleman he was, if not a little bit too flirtatious. She didn't mind, though, the natural charisma the two shared made this conversation very natural and easy to go about. It was like talking with an old friend she hadn't seen in a while, even though they had just met and exchanged names. It was a pleasant feeling being able to talk like this.
"A gentleman you are then. Though, calling a girl beautiful is quite a flirty thing to say." she'd add with a small smile, watching him as he clapped his hands and walked over to his umbrella. He was quite the interesting character, it seemed. She enjoyed seeing someone so lively.
"Can you blame them all, though? I can't say we don't live in a terrifying time." she'd add to his statement, curious to see how he responded. She wanted to know a little more about this person. It was interesting seeing how others perceived the state of Endymion and such.
"M'lady? Hm hm, I can't say I've been called that before. I don't mind the sun, but if you want to shade me, I won't say no." she'd respond easily enough as he held the umbrella above the two. He was definitely charming, something the girl admired in people. Though, she didn't know if hew as worth delving feelings into. At least, not the kind she held closest.
"Tell me, Kris. What made you come over to me? Was it only because I was drawing?" she'd ask curiously. She wanted to know the reason why she caught his attention. It could help her later if she needed it... So, might as well ask.

| He chuckled and felt no need to argue further on the subject of flirting and compliments. If she wanted to see him as a flirt, that was fine with him, especially since she didn't seem to mind. He did however pause for a moment at the next comment and took a more solemn tone. "Ah... Yes, I believe you're referring to the Terrorist attack on Susie Q, correct?" he asked. "A shame, I wish we could just get along, there's plenty of tragedy in the world naturally. We don't need to be fighting each other." he crossed his arms.
"Well, I was honestly more interested by the look on your face." he commented. "You looked focused, almost lost in your desire to create art. But there was a sign of trouble that made it obvious I should give you some advice." he explained. "I was hoping you'd be friendly, I'm glad you are." he smiled softly, he kept the umbrella over her for a time as the chatted. "Did you have anything else planned today? I'd hate to interrupt your personal business just because I'm overly talkative." he scratched his head with his free hand.

| She'd stay silent as he held the umbrella over her. She hadn't heard of such events in Suzie Q, but then again, a lot of things were kept hidden from her and probably multiple other people. She didn't really know if it was worth delving into... After all, people did bad things all the time and it made sense for people to fight against authority in a place like Endymion.
"I agree... The terrorist attacks are quite frightening... Though, that's just how some people wish to express themselves. I don't think it's a right thing to do, but we're all different and we can't possibly see eye to eye on everything. Though I wish they'd just leave instead of causing so much strife..." she wasn't very political, but she was a citizen of Endymion and adored the life it gave everyone. Could there be dark secrets? Well, of course. Imagining the government didn't hide things was foolish... But she didn't overly care about that. Her focus was in her art, social life, her future... Not some petty fights fought by headstrong children.
"Ah... The look all artists make when blocked by their own limitations. I adore watching the after effects of breaking through the block. Seeing other artists reach the 'ah hah' moment is priceless. I suppose you enjoyed that look on my face too?" she'd say with a small smile. She didn't devote much attention to other artists... But she couldn't help but see some of her colleagues in the art sorority break through a strong art block. It was always amazing to see.
"Hmm... No, not really. This is all I wanted to do today. I was thinking of going to a cafe with some friends... But today is normally the 'busy' day of the week for most of my friends. I doubt they'll be free." she said with a gentle hum, pulling out her phone to shoot a text to one such friend. This one didn't normally do much of anything, so it was possible they could hang out some.
"Maybe you would like to come? It would be nice to chat with you more." she'd say with a smile. She enjoyed his presence, and that was enough for her. She'd stoop down, though, picking up the writing utensils placed around her in a circle. She'd count them when they were all in her hand before placing them in a small box that held them all perfectly. She'd pocket the box and await a response from the charmer before her.

| He remained silent for a time while she spoke, after his silence he patted her head. "I'm sure you'll be alright." he said before smiling. "A great many things happen around the world, not all of which can effect everyone." he explained. "I guarantee you that even things in this city won't always effect you." he smiled softly.
At the mention of a cafe he nodded and grinned. "I'd love to join you! I wonder what new wondrous foods I'll get to try!" he expressed his excitement with a bit of a gleam in his eye. "And lunch with such a kind and beautiful woman is sure to be a treat in and of itself." he added with a playful wink. He was really only flirting playfully because she didn't seem to mind, though there were no specific tells to say he was not serious.

| She'd stay silent along with him. She wasn't worried of the events, far from it. As long as they didn't interfere with her life, she wouldn't give them much mind. Though they were scary and that was an unavoidable fact. But, maybe one day they would stop freaking her out... That was a possibility, she thought.
"I suppose you're right on that. Though, rumors can spread like wildfire. I hope nothing happens to the both of us." she'd say with a small nod, looking off to the side for a moment. She didn't like talking about stuff like this... It was hard to make friends with anyone with such talk and there was never a right answer. She simply didn't want to think about it...
"Hm hm. I'm glad you'll be joining us! Alright, we should get going then. Don't worry about paying, it's on me this time." she'd say with a small smile before walking towards the exit of the park. She'd wave him to follow so they could walk and talk until they got to the cafe. It'd be nice to get to know him better.
