| Lucen stretched as he sat down in the chair in front of his computer. That man... Telos I think it was? He said he was considering a scavenging mission. Might as well send him a message to see exactly what he has planned. Lucen typed up a short message, giving it a brief once over before sending it off. - Code:

TO: Telos SUBJECT: Scavenging Hey Telos,
It's Lucen from coin tossing event the other day. You mentioned looking for people to help you scavenge for something. You have any more details?

| Telos quickly responded. Yes. What do you wish to know? The message read. | |

| Lucen stared at his screen in misbelief. " If this is really so important to him, he should be a lot better at pitching it than this." Lucen sent off a quick response. - Code:

TO: Telos Subject: RE: Scavenging You really should try and give at least a little bit of information if you want to convice me to help you out. How about starting with what exactly are you looking for?

| That was easy. The end goal is the successful salvage of possibly the last remaining Zeiss-Jema manufacutred telescope lens left, as well as a special, unique set of projection data used as well in conjunction. This is located at what was the planeterium in what was formerly Endymion's R and D section. | |

| " Seriously?" Lucen leaned back in his chair and sighed in exasperation. I guess I'll have to inform him about the way scavenging works. - Code:

TO: Telos Subject: RE: Scavenging Alright, there are several problems with that plan. First of all, the planetarium is far away from the city. No offense to you, but I doubt that an old man would be able to make it there and back alive. Second of all, the lens is bound to be fragile, meaning it would have to be protected from the demons and elements on the return trip. That's even supposing that it is still usable after five years without maintenance. Honestly, it doesn't seem like you have really put much thought into this. And considering how much effort would be required to do this, that doesn't seem like a good sign.

| Ah. He realized that, once again, his mind was beginning to fail him. He KNEW what had to be done, it was that he was becoming more and more equivalent to what humans would call "an old man". Sighing, he began to respond once he had made sure he had compiled all relevant data and attached it onto the next message. I... apologize. I realize what you are saying would be the case, however... please take a look at the map data I have attached. There were several, other, smaller planeteriums nearby. While not as big, the one closest to the city is the one that is needed. Also, this is why I am trying to assemble a team: so that there is the greatest amount of odds that it can be successfully done. Finally, I only require the telescope lens, which SHOULD be still usable, albiet, dusty, but should be still usable once properly cleaned. It is only glass, after all. I have attached other data files as well, containing the dimensions of the lens (which should be within reason), as well as blueprint plans of the place using various software to simulate the most likely changes in it after 5 years. Please view those as well, and then let me know what you think. -Telos. | |

TO: Telos SUBJECT: RE: Scavenging Alright, so it is pretty clear that you don't really know the first thing about scavenging. Honestly, my suggestion is that you give up. There is basically no chance that this will succeed based on the information you gave me, and I don't want a death on my hands. First: It is because it is glass that the lens is unlikely to be usable. As a telescope lens, it is important that it is unmarred, i.e. not scratched, and it is also fragile. Even dust could have the potential to ruin the lens. Second: Doing a run in the wastelands as a group is suicidal unless you have someone who can defend against demons, who will no doubt be attracted to a large group. Third: Carrying a fragile glass lens back means that person will need to be extremely careful, and would therefore be easy prey to demons. TL;DR : Almost no chance of success. I don't know what about this is so important to you that you'd risk your life to accomplish it, so I suggest you re-evaluate your priorities. Lucen scanned over the message, making a quick edit before he sent it off.

| Telos sighed. At the very least, he hoped that the other thing would still be obtainable. Okay. I admit that recovery lens would be difficult, and thus, shall be set aside. I would, though, still like to recover the projection data. That should be much easier, no? | |

TO: Telos SUBJECT: RE: Scavenging Look, it's clear that this is important to you. But, I can't in good conscience help you kill yourself. I survived scavenging by developing a particular set of skills and instincts, some of which aren't really possible for someone of your advanced age. As well as a lot of luck. You haven't told me why this is so important to you, and since you haven't, that leads me to the impression that you don't really have a good reason. Without a strong reason, I very strongly recommend that you do not attempt to retrieve the data.

| Telos once again came to regret just how old his body really was. 12 years, and he was far overdue for an upgrade. All the others had undergone the upgrade that left their tech meeting up to present-day standards. As a matter of fact, only he was left to go in terms of that. Shame the divide put that idea to rest. He then began to type, carefully deciding how much attention to divulge. Alright. I do owe you a reason. My apologies, I should have started with that first. You see, my sister worked there before the divide. She was the one in charge of the projections and telescope show. She hopes to one day at least be able to show the projection data again, if not rebuild the planetarium, but due to it being specifically made for that planetarium, a second copy would be impossible to obtain without salvaging it from the original planetarium. That's why I wanted the lens: There is no place else in Endymion that possesses a lens of the size of the original telescope. Everything else can be replicated except for those two items. Think of it as a... memento for her, as I do not anticipate surviving the experience. Here. She looks like this. The photo was taken back when she first worked there:
Isn't she beautiful? She deserves to be happy. All of this was true, to some extent. To him, he knew that, overall, without an upgraded body, he would most likely perish from the experience. Even so, he had these things, these herculean-level tasks that he hoped to accomplish. He literally had nothing left to lose for himself. But everything to gain from it. - OOC Notes::
If you see anything robotic in the images assume it to be covered up so as to appear normal.

| Lucen sighed, realizing the point of a lost argument when he was in one, deciding to try and mitigate the risks. After the message was typed up, Lucen yawned, then added a final line, sent the message, and went to bed. - Code:

TO: Telos SUBJECT: RE: Scavenging I can see you do have a legitimate reason. But consider this. Would your sister be happy if she got those things, but it meant that she couldn't see you anymore? If you don't try to retrieve them, you would still be alive to spend time with her. So consider, which is more important to your sister, projection data or her brother? If you still want to try and get that back for her, I'll try and put together some data on scavenging so you can plan this better. But before I do that, I want you to actually think about the questions I raised. Anyway, I'm getting tired now, so I'm going to go to bed. Message you latter.

| Okay. Was the last response Telos sent, and all he could do now was sit and wait for time to pass... And fix himself up, of course. | |
