| Everyone has their wandering days. You know, days where you just start strolling around without thinking and wind up somewhere that may or may not be familiar (well, okay, not everybody has them, but today is one of them). For Takeru, today was one of those days. ... at least, he assumed it was.
"Just how did I get here anyways?" He thought aloud. That was one of the many odd thoughts that plagued his mind at this moment. One minute, he was heading towards concert hall 9 to go play on the piano. Next thing he knew, he was... here. Well, wherever here was, anyways.
The other thought was why his phone's clock was acting weird. It was stopping and resuming, changing times in no discoverable pattern, and even the weather reports kept changing.
"Oh, come on. You say that like you just wandered into a dark alley at night. Look around you! You're at a festival! And you've got money, to boot!" Twelve remarked.
"I suppose so..." Takeru muttered. He looked around. Everything DID look pretty fun.... "Oh, why not." he said, beginning to explore the fairgrounds. And then he saw it. "Oh you have to be..." he remarked when he saw what was on a makeshift stage.
The stage held an electric keyboard (the really fancy kind), amongst other instruments as well. And a banner that said, in big bold lettering: OPEN STAGE: WELCOME! PERFORMERS WANTED! PRIZES WILL BE GIVEN FOR PARTICIPATION! OPEN TO ALL! A smaller sign beneath read: "Equipment needed available on request."
"Go on! Do it! It's only in front of a bunch of strangers! They don't know you! Their opinions won't matter! Heck, you'll probably never see these people again!" Twelve said.
"... gee. I feel SO much better. But since I get the feeling that you're gonna nag me until I go on, and i'd like to enjoy this festival without you nagging me, so... guess i've got no choice." He responded as he sighed, walked over and put his name down on a nearby sign-up sheet, and sat down on a nearby chair to go wait for his turn.
"I KNEW you'd come around! Besides, you're worthless without an audience, right?" Twelve said, half encouragingly and half-sardonically.
"Gee, thanks SO much." Takeru said mentally as he heard his name being called and went on stage.
"Um... my name's Takeru Kagemaru. I will be playing the piano for you to listen to. Please enjoy." He said somewhat nervously into a mic on stage as he walked over to the piano, trying his hardest to block the image of everyone staring at him out, silently judging him, and-
"SNAP OUT OF IT!" Twelve yelled, snapping Takeru from his little train of thought.
"I- you're right. I'm overthinking it again." Takeru thought, taking a deep breath. All he had to do, after all... Was play. And play he did. He let it all out in one massive, cathartic wave. Focus on playing the piece comparable to that of a master surgeon mixed with passion akin to that of two newlyweds on their honeymoon.
He played 4 different songs in total while he was on there (or various parts of them): The Largo Movement of Dvorak's Brave New World Symphony. Les Toreadors from Bizet's Carmen Suite No.1 Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries. And finally, one of the most well known pieces to man: Beethoven's Ode to Joy.
When he was done, he stood up to thunderous applause. A few people were even shouting for an encore. "You see? You're better than you think you are." Twelve said. Takeru said nothing, too busy bowing and taking in the moment.
It was a full five minutes before he finally got off, collected his prize (which he pocketed), and got some distance away before he finally slumped down on a chair, taking in all those feelings at once. It was wonderful. He hadn't felt this wonderful since... well, ever. Shame that reality quickly brought him back down when somebody tapped his shoulder. "A fan from that concert, maybe?" Twelve remarked as Takeru turned to face the person. "Can I help you?" he asked them. | |

| "it's me son. i'm so proud." Said Teskay Namu as he wiped a single tear of joy from his eye. He then hugged his sun Takeru. | |
