Appearance: Kasumi is 155 cm tall and weighs 45 kg. She has dark-red hair that has been cropped short. She has a slim build, and her skin is a slightly tanned brown. Her eyes are green, and both earlobes have been pierced twice. She has a tattoo of a black scorpion on her right forearm, but she keeps it covered with a white ribbon when she isn't wearing long-sleeves. When not in uniform, Kasumi generally wears jeans and long-sleeved t-shirts.

Alternate Appearance: When summoning her persona, Kasumi's hair turns black and her skin becomes ashy. A white mask emblazoned with a black scorpion covers her face, and her clothing becomes ragged jeans and a weathered-leather jacket.

Personality:Kasumi is very outgoing and friendly. She is well-liked among her peers, but she spends so much time studying and working on club activities that she doesn't have any close friends. She tends to dive into whatever activity she's working on, which is often tasks involving Student Government, and won't surface from it until the task has been completed to her satisfaction. She is very driven in class, though academics are not her strong-suit and her grades reflect this. Because she can't stand by while others are bullied, Kasumi is often bruised and bandaged from breaking up fights or confronting abusers. This has landed her in hot water on several occasions -as she is not one to go and find a teacher- and she is currently on her final strike with the Student Government.

The Background

History: The unwanted child of a drug-addicted prostitute, Kasumi spent the first seven years of her life in a slum. She was largely ignored by her mother, and her father had left the picture nine months before her birth. During this time, Kasumi spent most of her time hanging around with the delinquents and druggies that frequented her neighborhood.

Not long after her seventh birthday, her mother was arrested on drug charges and Kasumi's aunt took custody of her. Her aunt was everything her mother wasn't: loving, attentive, and worried about Kasumi's future, but the damage had been done. Kasumi rarely stayed around her aunt's relatively cozy neighborhood and frequently sought the companionship of unsavory people. She joined a street gang at the age of twelve. They were known as the Black Stingers and made their money in the drug trade. Kasumi's initiation was to beat a man half to death with a baseball bat for not paying the gang's leader what he owed. She got a tattoo of a scorpion on her forearm to commemorate her acceptance into the gang.

For two years, Kasumi worked as a drug mule and dealer in the alleys of downtown. When she was fourteen, a disgruntled buyer attacked her. He had a gun, and he would have killed her if a police cruiser hadn't pulled up, sending the drug-head running. Kasumi tried to run as well, but was caught by the policeman. He was an old man, with snow-white hair and a severe looking face. He confiscated all of the drugs she was carrying, but instead of taking her to jail, he drove her to a nearby cafe and talked to her. The cop got her to explain what had led her to peddling drugs on the street, and once she started talking she found that she couldn't stop. He was the first adult she'd ever opened up to and the words came pouring out of her in a torrent. He listened, occasionally giving a solemn nod or motioning for her to continue. When she finished, he told her that he'd been dealing with criminals all of his life, and he knew that she'd make a terrible one. He encouraged her to make something out of her life, told her that this was the only warning she'd get, then left.

Kasumi didn't know if it was her near-death experience or the kind gesture of the officer, but she took his advice to heart. She stopped hanging out in downtown, covered her tattoo, and redoubled her efforts in school. She's currently planning to enter the police academy after graduation. But cutting ties with a gang isn't simple, and she is harassed by her former friends on a regular basis.

Be a bit more specific about your street smarts strength. Mostly because in this plot people won't be able to start off as masters of a certain subject. If you want to have it say boost a level of your social qualities or be a roleplay specific strength that's fine, just make sure you describe what you mean if you know a little more about the streets. For your Weak weakness, does this mean your dexterity attacks with your soulbound will do less or your Persona? Either way, make sure to make it a specific number such as 5% or something else depending on what you prefer. Just bear in mind if you do, the strengths and weaknesses should balance out. For example, for your fragile strength, you would by default take 5% more damage from dexterity in battle unless you specify otherwise.

Everything else looks good to go. Be sure to edit it and it'll be looked at again.

The keen eye won't need a number. Also for real world damage since it doesn't rely on numbers it can't work here. Apart from that if you want a 15% boost to luck you need to take at least a 15% penalty in something else. Fix up that stuff and you should be fine.

I've updated again.

If I might make a suggestion about your character creation threads. Whoever is running them should give clearer instructions and have a larger pool of example for strengths/weaknesses. It just comes off as kind of confusing to someone without an intimate knowledge of the game's system, and a lot of those creating characters aren't yet masters of the game.

The strengths/weaknesses in that thread are meant to be examples and stuff you can use, but you don't necessarily have to pick one if you want to take the time and make some up on your own as long as they balance out. If you're ever confused about what might work and what wouldn't, feel free to post in the Q&A thread or PM a mod and they'll help.

That being said you can make your discount strength apply to all items. Approved.
