| Well, it was the end of her first day as a Cadet and while she felt she could fit in with the collection of weirdos she's going to be calling her squad mates, she still didn't like half of them and felt the other half were just too weird, even for people who, apparently, can use magic.
Thus she was somewhat relieved to finally get home, to the normalcy of having a near constant absentee father, a dedicated stay at home mother. And having one of the cutest of all little sisters.
Truth be told, aside from the odd visits from her father, her adopted little sister is really all Achelle looks forward to when she gets home.
The home itself wasn't all that impressive, even for someone who worked for the government, a standard brick and wood two story town house with adjoining garage. three rooms above a living/sitting room, a decent sized dining room and well sized kitchen.
After kicking her shoes off while she closed the front door to the house. Achelle dropped her bag on the floor.
"Mom, Myuki! I'm home!"

| "Ugh... Why'd it have to be demonology?" Miyuki stared down at the papers in her lap with a bored expression resting upon her face. Her fingers loosely clutched a pencil inbetween them as she flipped through her notebook staring blankly at the walls of the text she had hastily scribbled down back in class. Only recently had she returned to school and yet already she was being bombarded with busywork left and right. It was almost as if Seven Stars was trying to punish those without the potential. The life of a Cadet wasn't exactly appealing to her, but Miyuki was certain it had to be more interesting than sitting alone writing down the same predictable answers to the same predictable questions. Looking up idly at a nearby clock, the girl would smile as she noticed the time. It was getting a bit late, so she figured Achelle would be arriving home any second. And hearing about her sister's day would no doubt be more interesting than what she was doing at the moment. ---- "Mom, Miyuki! I'm home!" "Welcome home!" She'd shout a greeting with a smile on her face. Casually tossing her books aside, the girl would stand up and walk over to her sister with a warm expression. "Mom's out picking up groceries, so for now it's just you and me sis. She should be back sometime soon though. Anyway, how was your first day as a Cadet?" | |

| Achelle gave Miyuki a playful ruffle of her hair as she was greeted.
Heya kiddo," she said back. When Miyuki asked about the Cadets, Achelle's expression soured slightly. "The crew I'm working with is full of weird weirdos." She responded. "But that's not important," She then interjected, "how's your studying going?" She asked as she peered over the smaller girl to look at the coffee table behind her. "Nothing too hard I expect?"
This was the time the older sibling pushed aside the younger one and walked into the living room to inspect the books and assignment. "Demonology?" She asked as she looked up and back to Miyuki as she adjusted her glasses. "They're making you study this already?"

| Weird weirdos, huh? That was a bit redundant. It made Miyuki laugh a little though not in the mocking, smug way she did around others. Her mouth opened up instinctively to ask for some details, but before a word could come out of the curious girl's lips her sister had changed the subject to the very thing she had been trying to get away from: her studies. She mentally groaned, but kept a warm smile on her face as she wandered over to the books trailing halfheartedly behind her sister. "Yep. For those without the potential demonology more or less boils down to memorization, so I guess they're trying to make sure we haven't forgotten what we learnt last year." At least that was her best guess anyway. She didn't see much of a point in it, but it wasn't like she really had a choice in the matter. | |

| Achelle picked the book up and read the header for the chapter itself.
"Yosei?" She repeated. "You're studying the fairy clan?" She asked, as she flipped a few pages. "Eh, I guess looking this race over would be a good idea. They're pretty diverse as far as demons go." She mentioned as she put the book down, then dropped onto the couch itself. After a second and a sigh, she unbuckled a belt that was over her waist, the dropped it, and the wooden contraption it held on the table.

| "Apparently they're pretty common. At least that's what the book says anyway." Miyuki herself wouldn't know. She naturally hadn't seen many demons in her life -- not since the night of the Eternal Divide, that is. People without the potential apparently couldn't even recognize their true forms according to what the classes had taught her, so she couldn't be bothered to care much about it beyond than the grade it gave. Still, it served a useful purpose -- there were those within the normal classes who had unawakened potential that they and the government weren't yet aware of. When they became Cadets, the things they had learned from demonology would no doubt serve them well and keep them caught up with the rest of their team. And that probably meant there was some grain of truth to what the textbook said about the various kinds of demons, their behavioral patterns, etc.
The girl would flop down on the couch as well, taking a seat next to her sister and grabbing onto the book, her eyes idly scanning a few of the passages. She'd remain silent for a few seconds, but soon enough the bored Miyuki would let out a sigh and look over to Achelle. "You said your classmates were pretty weird, right? Do you think their quirks'll interfere with them doing their duties or...?"

| Achelle fixed Miyuki with a look, one of those 'do you really want me to answer that question' looks, but she relented anyway.
"Tell me 'yuki," she started, "would it look weird to see a five foot nothing young lady dragging about a six foot tall black coffin?" She asked, "or, how about a man who both wears an opera mask and acts like a stage actor?" She asked, before sitting up and giving the younger girl another look.

| A six-foot coffin? How was she carrying something that heavy around and, more importantly, why? And a man running around in an opera mask? That sounded more like something a terrorist would do than a Cadet. Achelle hadn't been exaggerating when she called her classmates strange, but Miyuki found it hard to be too shocked by the revelations. Maybe it was because she was a rather open-minded person... or maybe it was because her own recent company had included a brooding war machine designed in the image of a dog and an easily embarrassed maid cafe worker who happened to be heir presumptive to a ridiculously large oil company (and the massive fortune which came with it).
Whatever the case, Miyuki would merely offer her sister a shrug. "They at least sound like a decent source of amusement. Special snowflakes are always fun to mess with. But," she paused and fell into a contemplative silence before continuing, "a literal coffin? Really?" A light, semi-confused laugh escaped her lips. What use could she have of that? It had to be a call for attention... or maybe it wasn't? The Media Sorority member within her was already itching to investigate the mystery behind that, but she wouldn't voice that desire aloud of course. At least not right now anyway.

| "Weirdos aside, how about I help you with your homework?" Achella asked as she picked up Miyuki's text book and started flipping through the pages.
"Let's start with an easy one." She said, "this small fairy from the Cornwall region of England are known to be relatively harmless and love pulling pranks on unsuspecting people."
When she was done with the small summery, Achelle looked at Miyuki. "Please name the fairy and it's elemental affinities."
