| The war veteran sat at a computer, finally scrolling through various pages on a web search. He was trying to figure out how you open a new tab on one of these blasted things, he would do a lot better if he could do a side by side comparison with the various web pages. Thus far he had managed to close it out, twice, minimize three, and then...well some of them he wasn't sure what he did with but they're not on the screen anymore.
He sat back and shook his head, rubbing his forehead a bit. IF only they allowed him to smoke in here, but they don't. Instead, he reached over for his tea, raising the beverage to his lips before taking a nice long drink from it. He let out a sigh and opened up a new internet search and typed in "PTSD treatment", he began to search for other medical experts that recommended certain brands or treatments. He had to get away from these creeps, he knew he had made a bargain with them, but he should bail out of it now while the going was good. He didn't trust the creeps, even if he did owe them his life.

| Bernard Cooed. He was flapping around that day, and began to flap around actually being a flappity flap flap. As a result, he would make his way inside the cafe. Curious to investigate what it was these humans were exactly doing on these strange machines! Bernard would fly around. Hey what the hell!Who's bird is that!?Hoo Hoo, Hoo Bernard was hooing around the cafe now. and would flap around to the man who was sitting at the cafe searching up PTSD treatments. Very curiously, Bernard stared at him and would look at him like a curious child. Entertained at the man's very existence. It was up to him to decide what he was going to do with the owl though. A Wild Bernard Appeared!
Hoo Hoo, Hooooo

| As if the internet wasn't hard enough to understand the sudden disturbance caused by an owl that had decided to cause a commotion disturbing a few people and flying around the cafe. Johnson brought his tea to his lips, taking a drink, noting that the bird was eyeing him specifically. He closed his internet explore program, finished up his tea, before setting it down. He returned the stare at the owl with his single eye, before reaching up toward the owl's head and he would gently try to stroke its head before getting it to try and leave the cafe. Curiosity may have killed the cat but animal control would no doubt take the owl in a less pleasant way.
"Are you lost buddy?" The mercenary asked as he tried to pet the owl's head. If he was allowed, he'd keep petting the owl, and though this was one of the strangest interactions he had ever had. Johnson figured it would be better if he tried to befriend the owl before guiding it out of the cafe this way animal control wouldn't be called on it. He kept his voice gentle rather than harsh and demanding like it normally was, he didn't want to startle an owl and get scratched. He had enough scars for a life time! "What are you doing here with humans hmm? Nobody here has anything for you to eat unfortunately. So come on, why don't you come with me for a bit." The mercenary suggested slowly rising try to persuade the owl to come with him. He was willing to bet that everyone else thought that he was insane and or owned the owl, when he had never seen this bird in his life.

| Bernard would continue to hoo simply, and would look at Johnson strangely. Upon the man asking him what she was doing, the owl hood, and then hood again. Looking adorably at the man and then starting to move torwards him. Hoo Hoo, Hoo.The owl simply ruffled its feathers, who was this man. However they seemed rather...Interesting to the young owl indeed. As she continued to survey him, carefully approaching the man. She would get on his arm if he stuck it out for her to get on and would hoo. Finding a rather friendly approach on him.
Now it was up to the man to decide what to do with the owl however.

| What the hell was he thinking? The owl couldn't talk at all, considering how it simply hood at him twice, and then moved closer only to hoo and ruffle its feathers. Fortunately, Johnson was wearing thick long sleeves, so when the owl perched upon his arm, it wouldn't hurt as much should the talons pierce the fabric. He heard a few murmurs about the owl being his, and he shook his head. This wasn't his owl, but the least he could do is get it outside before animal control was called on it.
"Come on, let's step outside for a bit." He said, taking the Bernard outside, but he kept near the door of the internet cafe. "Let me see if I have anything for you to eat, since I figure that is what you want." He said as he reached into his pocket, finding a packet of crackers that he must have gotten at some point. He pulled it out, saltine crackers, well...it was all he had, and he figured it wouldn't hurt the bird. He bit the wrapping and tore it off, before spitting it out of his mouth. He offered the owl the two crackers that were in the packaging, hopefully this bird would like it. At the same time....he looked for any sign of ownership on this owl.

| The Owl Hood, as it would perch on his arm and enjoy itself at the time being. Happily flapping her wings and simply managing her hold on the man's arm. Upon the man saying they were going to step outside for a bit, the owl would hoo confused and then Hoo Hoo. Not really minding the two of them going outside.
What really grabbed Bernadettes attention though was these crackers, in fact if you fed the owl. The owl would actually give a shit about you if you paid close attention to it. Upon being offered the crackers, the hoo would start to peck at them and begin to eat at them happily. Making adorable little cooing noises as she devoured them. While Johnson was looking at Bernadettes body for signs of ownership, he would see a small metal tag that read "BERNARD" and then Below it BERNIE <3.

| Johnson realized that people likely thought he was crazy for talking to an owl, let alone feeding it, but it seemed to be responding positively to it. He noted the tag, and took a closer look at it. "Hmmm, Bernard or Bernie is your name huh? You got an owner little buddy?" The veteran asked, not seeing any name on the tag. After the owl ate the crackers he gently grabbed it and flipped it around to see if it was the on the back of the tag. Once he confirmed that there was or was not a name, on it he would let go of it and pet the owl gently on the head. He had no idea how you pet an owl, whether they were more like a dog or cat. Well, he had heard about ruffled feathers, , so he figured that it would be better off to avoid ruffling the owl's feathers.
He rose his hand and gently stroked the top of his new friend's head, following the feathers to ensure that he did not ruffle any of them. "What are you doing in the city anyway? I doubt you can find much food, and your owner must have a lot of trust in you to let you out. Are you lost? Do you need help finding your owner?" He asked the bird, looking at it, trying to figure out what this bird wanted from him. Granted, it could just want more crackers at this point. In hindsight, he probably shouldn't have fed it anything.

| Hoo, Hoo, Hoo.The Owl Hood rather excitedly at the look Johnson had gave him with the calling of Bernard, then would look hostile upon being called Bernie it appeared. The owl was trained also to be capable of some form of communication. The bird would nod happily as it was asked of whether or not it had an owner. Once the man's hand rose, a questionable hoo came out, then the sensation of being pet. Yes, to be pet as an owl was owlkinds greatest dream to achieve you see. All these hoos werent' for nothing you know.
In terms of being asked if the bird was lost, Bernard hood again. I mean, what the hell else was he she wumbo going to say to Johnson. Shaking it's head upon being asked no or whether or not it needed help finding its owner.

| Okay so it preferred the name Bernard over Bernie, well that made some sense. It was hard to believe it had a preference or had the capability to know the difference. Though, Johnson didn't know how smart an owl could be, but this one seemed capable of some level of communication, even with strangers. That impressed him, his owner must be quite intelligent, and when the owl let him pet it, he would gently continue to stroke its head.
It didn't need help finding its owner, so Johnson wasn't sure what it wanted. He knew that he could not get an answer out of the owl ether, so there was no point in trying. The owl evidently had free time and was choosing to spend it with him. Was there a reason for it? The solider could not imagine an owl having a complex reason to do so, perhaps it was just instinct. He reached down into his pocket and revealed a cracker that sat in a torn package. He had one earlier, but he supposed the owl wouldn't mind it. "Last one, and then you're not going to be getting any more from me, got it?" He said as he offered it to the owl, after this he was all out of food for the bird.

| Bernard hood happily, as she decided to snap the crackers out of Johnsons hands and happily munched down on them in front of him. Snorking down on these crackers was rather enjoyable for the owl as she swallowed them whole. This man knew how to treat a lady, crackers and pets were a gentleman's way of telling an owl he loved her. Atleast, that was how it worked in the land of the hoos. As the owl would hoo happily, and then fly off into the day. Having enjoyed what the man had given her. She hood and flapped her wings at him before flapping away like a hoo.

| Johnson watched the owl eagerly devoured the cracker, it might have even been faster than when it was given the first two crackers. He watched the owl flap its wings at him with a hoo, before flying off to do...whatever owls did. The solider sat there, and was a little confused about what had just happened. He supposed that he had made an animal companion that had just left him. He turned back and entered the cafe to look up how intelligent an owl could be. A part of him felt as though he had been used by that owl for food and for attention. But there was no way that owls could be that intelligent.....could they?
