The Big Reveal [Plot Event :: Nighttime]

"It did...?" After making her way to the top of the tree, when she looked back she saw the ice-cream man standing by J and the rest of them... It seemed like giving his ice-cream back stopped him from chasing people! That was great news! Although he did then continue to eat the presented ice-cream very quickly and fell to the ground. "Woah... That guy was really hungry wasn't he?" She'd question to 8D. "I've never seen someone so violent to get a meal before..."

After a moment she'd shake her head to stop herself from watching any longer. She still needed to get out of there and the professor will run out of ice-cream sandwiches eventually! Her normal smile would return as 8D humored her with jokes. The little bot seemed very impressed with himself after every pun he made, but she appreciated him trying to make her feel better. "You're right though, we should get as far away from this horrible place as possible... Y-you have a way to track J right? We'll be sure to meet up with him once this is all over. Okay?" Her voice trembled as she suddenly would realize that just cause she escaped, didn't mean the professor was out of danger himself yet... She felt so bad that she just abandoned him there, b-but what else was she meant to do?

After following the map displayed by 8D, Callie quickly found her way to the nearest exit which didn't involve going back near danger. She would stand around nervously, holding 8D up to her chest and wrapping her other arm around him. She wasn't a fan of the suspense of waiting to see if the others were going to be okay or not... "Aww... I wish I was at home..."

As the demon bellowed at Professor J, Douglas began to lose his cool. "Negotiations had only just began and already J has unintentionally doomed us." He thought. To his surprise, however, J kept his composure intact and continued to speak to the demon in a friendly manner. He recalled an important strategy in dealing with unwanted poeple: Acting like there is no crisis in the face of crisis will lead people to question wether the crisis really exists. Let's hope the same applies to demons, eh?

But what exactly could he himself do? It wasn't like he had anything on him right now to offer the demon except his phone and wallet, and he was pretty sure niether of those interested it. Sure, he could offer it a myriad of different things from food to commodities, but he doubted the demon would be willing to wait to recieve them. Douglas looked down at his canine companion, currently primed for battle. The machinegun inside of Selenus's mouth was peeking out and ready to fire at the first sign of trouble, so that was good, but staying around was much too dangerous for Douglas himself. And in that moment, a thought struck him. Douglas took out his cellphone, only to find that it was... dead? That's weird. He could swear he'd JUST charged it. Okay... so 911 was out the window...

In a sudden flash of determination, Douglas realized he had nothing to lose. He approached the demon a little bit more, and took out his PDA to calculate possible costs... Yowch, those numbers did NOT look pretty; but then again, neither did the prostect of becoming dinner. Douglas pocketed his PDA and addressed the demon. Hopefully it was more patient than it seemed.

Action:

For a split second J was utterly and completely confused by what had just happened. This confusion, however, was quickly replaced with pain as he landed a good couple meters away from the demon and did his best to quickly roll back to his feet. A good cough and sharp pain of what could be a hairline fracture in his rib taught him a very valuable lesson. "Mph! Mistakes... Have been made..."

"Ya think?" Kay waisted no time in turning tail and sprinting towards the woods, not bothering to give J the time of day as she passe him.

"Perhaps self preservation over information..." J wheezed before following suit after Kay. The two of them would sprint as fast as their slender legs would carry them into the woods and after sharing a knowing  nod split, both running in different directions. No matter what the other heard they would not stop running until they reached safety. While she was running, however, Kay would pull a small PDA from her pocket and send a quick message to J's PDA and 8D.

The message was a set of coordinates...

(J and Kay have booked it out of there while the demon was distracted)


"Ehehe, that J, what a marooon, what a nincompoop, what a Nimrod! Did he really think he could tempt fate twice? Heh, whoever put that idea in his head needs to start renting out the space between their ears, cus they sure ain't usen it! Ehehe." 8D laughed and laughed to himself over... quite frankly something he would have had no chance of seeing sense Callie had already left the park and was safely far away.

In the middle of his laugh, however, 8D would suddenly vibrate as new information was added to his logs."Hm? Ah! Good news Cals! Looks like the professor and Kay got away, they just sent me the location of a meeting spot." A large red arrow would take the entirety of 8D's screen, pointing off in a seemingly random direction. "Just fallow the arrow, ehehe,"

Callie would look at 8D worryingly, did he somehow know what was going on with J still even if he couldn't see him? She hoped not, at least not if what he was saying was happening were true. She'd shake her head, trying her hardest to get all negative thought out of her head... Or at least focus on something else. "Brrr..." Her whole body suddenly trembled, she hadn't realized before how cold it was getting now it was late, or... Wait.

"Oh? That is good news! D-does that mean everyone else got away safely too?" She'd stare off into the distance of the park, she couldn't really hear anything but then again she hadn't been able to for a while, she had gotten herself pretty far away from that whole mess. "Okay, it'll be like a treasure hunt, right? Where Kay and the Professor are the X!" After making sure she went the right way, Callie would head in the direction of the arrow with a smile on her face. New hope had showed itself!

Welp.

The moment the creature had lunged towards Newman, Selenus opened fire on it, hoping to take it down before it could harm his master. To his surprise, however, the monstrosity appeared completely unaffected by the bullets. What was this? It seemed this creature could not be harmed through conventional means. Sure, it was suffering from brainfreeze, but that was more biological than anything.

Concluding that assaulting it was pointless, Selenus turned to his nearly decapitated master.

"Mr. Newman, we have to leave now. Further negotiations are impossible at this point."

Douglas broke out of his initial shock from being nearly beheaded and addressed his companion. "Have you gone insane, Selenus?! If we leave now, all of these people will die!"

"Mr. New-"

"No!" Selenus was interrupted by Douglas's deep, determined voice. "I will find a peaceful solution to this, even if it's the last thing I do!" He stated proudly.

Selenus looked around. He looked at the terrified people, some of who were still trying to get past the debris, and some of who had already accepted their fates. He looked at the monster, doubling over in pain in and ready to devour everything on sight the oment it got the chance. And then he saw her. As he scanned the audience once more, his visor locked onto a small girl, the same little girl that had pet him earlier this morning, except instead of the adorable smile he had plastered on her face then, now he saw tears and a face contorted in true terror. Selenus looked back at his master, planted firmly on the ground, expecting a response or reaction -anything, really- from him.

With conflicting emotions and imitation adrenaline pumping through his figurative brain, selenus made a choice. Addressing two people present (even if one of them couldn't hear him), he sadly muttered:

"Forgive me."

Selenus grabbed Douglas's throat with his tail and applied an electric shock. Nothing that could cause lasting damages, but definitely enough to render him unconscious. Douglas plummeted to the ground like pidgeon hit by a rock, but was caught by Selenus, who made sure his master lay holstered on his back.

Selenus sprang over the demon, his master resting uneasily on top. The moment his paws hit the ground again, the robot wolf sprinted in no general direction, just as long as it was away from the demon and his dinner. Before the scene grew out of his sight, Selenus looked back one last time to contemplate the consequences of his actions, knowing exactly well what he could've done if he had just been braver.

"Eheh-hehe... Heh? This can't be the place!" Should Callie have fallowed the arrow to the letter she would have found a small run down hold in the wall bar that looked like it had been abandoned for years. Hanging in the window a small faded "For Sale" sign gently flapped in the breeze. Whatever this place was it did NOT seem like a proper place for a kid like Callie to be... And-I sure as hell am gunna let Kay know that when she gets her blue haired fanny here! I mean come on! The place looks like if someone dug a hole into the side of a building and then filled it with rotting wood!- 8D would wriggle out of Callie's grasp and stand proudly on his wrist straps as he passed his judgement on the dive bar "What was Kay thinking? This place isn't safe! She's probably off her rocker, the trip musta affected her more then it did J. This whole situation just isn't... OKAY! Ehehehehe!"

In his laughter he failed to notice the soft, yet determined footsteps approaching from behind him. His jubilation was cut short as Kay bent down and rather roughly picked him up with a yank. "Care to repeat that?" Her voice was cold... "Before I hotwire your consciousness directly into your -"

"I said you are a very lovely woman and I hope many good tidings come your way! E-Ehehe-" 8D had wondered what his voice would sound like afraid... well now he knew.

"Hmph... Smart robot," Kay's hard expression turned soft as she knelt down and handed 8D's limp screen back to Callie. "I'm sorry you had to hear that sweet heart. He just needs to learn some manners."

"AHA! There you three are! I was dreadfully worried that I may never see any of you again!" J's happy and pronounced voice was the last to arrive, though that surely did not mean the quietest."It seems it was a rather ingenious plan to give you 8D my dear Callie, you did a marvelous job keeping him safe, Hmhmhm" He would pause to pat Callie's head with a warm hand and an implied smile. "And Kay my darling you have truly outdone yourself! This will be the perfect base of operations in this, our new home! Oh I simply cannot wait to begin redecorating," With a pep in his step J would happily throw open the door to the abandoned bar and step inside.

"I'm not your darling... And be careful, there could be lose floor boards. I didn't come all this way just to see you die cus you didn't watch your step. Stupid J..." Kay sighed as she fallowed Professor J inside.

"... Hey... Callie?" 8D's voice would be small as he called up to her from her arms. "It's uh... It's probably gunna be really dangerous for a while what with all the demons running around so uh... If you want you and LuLu can hide with us for a bit. I'd sure feel a lot safer with you around, heh..." 8D would hop down from Callie's grasp and waddle towards the door. He would stop just short and spin to face the young girl, a big smiling face plastered on his screen.


8D would wait for Callie to ether come with him into the bar, or say her good bye before he -Ehehe...hehehehehe... AHAHAHAHAHA! It begins! It Begins! IT BEGINS! AHAHAHA! COME! COME YOU SLAVES OF STRINGS! COME AND PLAY WITH THE STRINGLESS ONE! I will be waiting...

"Huh?" Callie would stare in bewilderment at the strange building that seemed to be built inside of a wall. She was fairly confused how she had never seen the place before, she was almost positive that her own home wasn't too far away from here, yet she had never ventured this way before. The place looked so old and seemed like it was one of those old lost treasure troves that would be lost for thousands of years before being claimed by some brave explorer! Although, 8D didn't seem to see it in the same light. "Hehe, 8D this place looks amazing!"

Filled with excitement, Callie would take a step towards the door wanting to explore. But before she could, Kay's voice would attract her attention. She would once again laugh as the little bot tried to weasel his way out of trouble. "That's okay!" She'd smile warmly at Kay. "I'm just glad to see you got away from that horrible place okay..." Leaning onto her left leg to look behind Kay, Callie saw no obvious sign of professor J, until his merry voice made her suddenly jump and nearly lose her balance. Yet she didn't let that embarrass her for long, especially as the professor complimenting her on her achievement and patting her head made her feel more embarrassed. "T-thank you!" She'd say in a quiet voice, blushing a bright red and trying not to make eye contact so he wouldn't notice. "I-I'm glad to see you're okay too!"

As J and Kay stepped into the old building to investigate further, Callie hesitated to follow, not knowing what was her best course of action. Then 8D whispered to her, his tone felt off from how he had spoken at all times before. It felt like he had a lot more concern and wasn't just being a clown... "Y-you mean I could live with you? D-do you think J and Kay would be okay with that... P-plus you guys don't know me that well, a-and how do you know I don't have somewhere to call home..." She'd pause, staring at a crack in the ground, hugging Lulu close before whispering to herself. "I-it would be nice... To have a family..."

She caught back a weak smile as 8D repeated her joke from earlier, she would quickly rub a tear from her eye as she thought long and hard. "Huh? What is it?" She would suddenly question to Lulu. "Hm?... Uhuh... Okay! Right!" Her smile brightened as it usually did after talking with her bear, Lulu was always so useful when it came to decision making! "I'd love to stay with you guys! But ya gotta promise me to help get some of my stuff from my den at some point. I have a lot of random things that I don't want misplaced!" She'd say in a joking way, leaning over to pet the little bot before venturing inside the old bar, wanting to explore the entire place top to bottom. "But we can leave that until tomorrow, 'kay?"
