| "Everyone! Please exit the subway in an orderly fashion. We will escort you to the shelter shortly!" Jack's eyes scanned the immediate terrain around the mouth of the station, straining to spot any officers he could. "... Just as soon as I find it..." he would add under his breath. He would oversee the civilians leaving the tunnels until they were all safely above ground once more. The trip had been a long and tedious one, but other then the initial run in with Claire, wholly uneventful. Silently Jack wondered what the others where doing while he was busy with evacuations... With no boasting intended he was one of the stronger fighters they had... Perhaps all would be better served with him and Charles on the front lines... But then what would have happened to these people? Would they have been caught in the cross fire?... Perhaps this was better... Jack was able to save these people not as a "Hero" or as "Personanger Judgment"... But as Officer Rannells... Maybe... it was time to- "Mr?... um..." a small voice dragged Jack from his thoughts as a little hand tugged at his pant leg. Jack looked down to the voices owner, a little girl no older then five clutching a stuffed duck as if it were her only tie to life. "Wh-Where are we gunna go?""Oh... Sweet Heart..." Jack would smile brightly and kneel down to the girl, speaking in a calm and easy voice "Don't worry, I'll go find out right away! You just sit tight here and I'll be right back," Jack would stand and give Charles a quick nod before addressing the crowd once more. "Everyone! You're attention please! Please wait here while I check the status of the shelter, I won't be long. Thank you."With that Jack would take off, perhaps with Charles to find an officer who looked like they knew what they were doing, should he find one he would flash his badge and offer a quick salute before asking "Officer Jack Rannells, San Malarus PD, I have a large crowd of civilians from Standeson seeking refuge. I was told the Prison was currently being used as a shelter. Is that still true?" | |

| Charles could not put into words how glad he felt at the moment they safely arrived at the prison station, no matter the obvious negative conotations of the place. For now, it seemed like the girl hadn't lied about the place, thought they'd have to inspect this themselves before they could be sure of anything.
Either way, he'd leave the formalities to Jack while he himself tended to whoever required any help at the moment. He wasn't immediately near Jack, but he noticed him with the little girl and couldn't help but smile at the scene. It just came to show how Jack really was deep down. A true hero of mankind.
HOWEVER, there was no time for daydreaming fantasies as Jack was about to go talk to one of the officers. "Right, I'm here." He tagged along, right after making sure the woman's sprain was immobilized for now. There were some people who got injured in the whole chaos. Sure, they were helping each other, but he still felt inquired to give them a hand when they needed one. He stayed behind Jack, a looming, red-eyed tall terror, the silent companion to the loud-mouthed good guy. | |

| Qwentyn Harris turned to see the officer flash his badge heroically. He nodded in confirmation. "Yes, we're holding civilians here while it's still safe. It's one of our most secure places, while the prisoners when able are being moved to the larger hallways with more cells. Good to see you made it. When able, you are free to remain here or return to the islands to help others." | |

| "If at all possible I'd like to head back out. I'm more then equipped to handle the current threat. All I ask is that you get these people inside quickly and for an update on the current state of affairs." Jack's voice was calm and matriculated. He would drop his salute but hold his rigid and professional stance. "Beyond the order to bring civilians here and the first announcement of the barrier I haven't heard much. What's the status of the other islands? Are the demons attacking in mass anywhere in particular besides Standeson? Also, have we any information on the current state of the water?"
Jack would wait patiently for Qwentyn's response before nodding in acknowledgement and pulling his notepad from his breast pocket. He would quickly flip to the notes he took from Claire and hand them to Qwentyn. "In addition. I ran into a hooded woman on my way here, she informed me that she was a visitor from another world and that she was separated from her companions. Had current events not transpired I would not have given it much thought, but with the current state of the islands I feel this is an avenue we must investigate. I feel that the people described here are linked to this current even in some way and will be able to shed some light on what's really going on. If you have any information regarding the people described here it would be of great help. Also I recommend we put an all points bulletin for officers trapped on any islands to keep an eye out for people matching these descriptions. The people could prove to be the key to solving this mess." having finished Jack would stand by and wait for Qwentyn's response. | |

| "Will you be safe if we left?" Charles reached out and stood next to Jack. He had this one preoccupying worry on his mind the whole time. What if demons showed up at the Prison too? Sure, he was certain that this was the safest place currently in Azores, not counting the sphere-barricaded San Malarus, of course, but still, if there weren't any people who could use Personas here, then the two of them leaving would only lea-
Oh wait, right, people didn't know about Personas. What was the man thinking when he heard Charles regard himself and Jack as the only people capable of keeping this place safe? "I mean, would this place be able to last if any of those creatures arrived here?" | |

| "The demons are for whatever reason hanging over Standasen, but don't be surprised if you find some roaming others. San Malarus however is under lockdown by Minister Isla. She has it under control. The water itself, not sure. We have all been advised not to go into it, but not ordered specifically." When he asked about the hooded woman, he nodded. "I heard about her and caught a glimpse, but she was gone before I could say anything. I haven't seen the others, but I'll be sure to have the information put up. If you think it's best to go out to investigate, we won't stop you. Whatever the reason, they are ignoring this place. They aren't causing direct harm to us or so we've been hearing." He turned to Charles, who brought up a concern. "You'll find that several of us have learned how to use the same powers others have. Apparently it's called Persona. As I said before the Demons and those people are avoiding us, so for now it's the safest place we have outside of San Malarus." | |

| "Well color me surprised then," Jack smiled at the frankness of his speech. It seemed that the police force was ready for this one. With a good number of Persona users under the banner there was no need to worry about sticking around. The area was easily defendable with only one entrance and exit that could quickly be blocked off or destroyed entirely if the need should arise. The walls of the prison wouldn't stand up to soul based damage very well but against any conventional attack it might as well have been a castle. Should Zachary and his cronies get bold and chance an attack here they would more then likely be repelled. However, that still left Lunapa, Panecia, Malatsu, and the academy vulnerable... Wait... The academy, didn't Joshua say something about Zachary's actions there during the event two years ago?... Hmmm Not enough information to go off right now.
"Thank you for your time. If you get any reports anyone matching these descriptions please pass them on to me, I promised the woman in the hood that I would find her friends and I intend to keep that promise," A thought popped into Jack's head and forced itself out before he could forget it."Also, think we could get a change of cloths and maybe some riot gear before we head out? Charles here lost his shirt in the chaos and I think we might need a bit of heavy fire power should we run into anything to Nasty, I mean we're both Persona Users but... one can never be to sure." | |

| "We're gonna take our leave, then, and help secure the other areas." Charles nodded at Harris. What was going on, though? Even more people as Persona Users and even more people involved in this disaster. This was happening all across the archipelago, two years after what had happened last time. Was it all unconnected? Unlikely. The key to all the answers laid somewhere, though... Perhaps those people the girl mentioned.
Charles turned to Jack and then to Harris. "Oh, right, I need a new uniform." He smiled awkwardly when he realized that he was still in the unbuttoned coat. People weren't suspicious of him, though. Must've been thinking he was still wearing some sort of skin-tight shirt. In a way, it really did look like that. His body, that is. The riot gear he hardly needed, but he kept silent. No need to complicate things.
"Hey Jack, while we're here, why not finally try and contact someone. They might have some answers. Maybe get in touch with someone on Malarus?" Like who, though? Like Mae, of course! | |

| Qwentyn would not and direct them to where they could get armor in better condition. He had little more to say, so if they said nothing else, he would excuse himself with the efforts for the others. | |

| "Alright, thanks. We'll go resupply and then head out again." Jack nodded and saluted the fellow officer one last time before heading off with Charles to where he indicated the armory was. Now, Jack wasn't a fool. He knew for a fact that normal weapons and armor would do nothing against the demons that they were bound to face, but the demons weren't what he was honestly worried about at this point.
"Oh that's right! We were gunna call Mae, thanks for reminding me," Jack would shake his head as the pair reached the armory, after flashing their badges to the guard by the door they would be let in and free to resupply. "Go ahead and give her a call, we need to keep in touch if we're gunna make it through this." Jack would say this almost absentmindedly as he walked through the racks and racks of firearms and armors. Honestly, his Judgement suit, which he still carried around in it's dufflebag, was just as good if not better then this riot gear. Seeing as how it was built from the same materials and then some, however, it was not the armor that Jack was considering. Deciding not to put this off any longer, Jack would pull a simple handgun from the rack and feel it's weight in his hand.
"They're... always heaver then they look huh..." He sighed as he checked the sight and the magazine. He knew how to use one of these... Every officer did... but that didn't mean he liked where his current train of thought was leading... | |

| While Jack went off somewhere in the armory, Charles focused on getting his change of clothes. "N-no, we'll call her together..." He smiled and shouted over at his partner as he took off what was left of his shoes aside. He really didn't wanna be the one calling her... Besides, they were getting ready right now... They could call her as they made their way over to the other islands...
In any case, Charles was now dressed in a perfectly clean and neat new uniform and a bulletproof vest, with a baton at his belt as he stepped out to where Jack was. "How does it look?" He asked as he adjusted the vest. "Hmmm, what do you have the-" He didn't get to finish the sentence. Jack was holding a gun. It came as a shock... Really, though, what would Jack do with a gun? He could always blast anyone away with his ranger awesomeness... And if things got really bad, he could rely on him, Charles, to kick any non-Persona User human's butt. This made him feel uneasy, to say the least... "What are you doing with that, Jack?" The android spoke in a worried tone. | |

| "EH!?" To say Jack was scared out of his mind by Charles's sudden words would be an understatement. Had he not been practicing proper trigger discipline someone, probably him, might have been shot. He breathed a heavily for a moment as he calmed down and once again felt the weight of the gun in his hand. Though to be fair, that weight was nothing compared to Charles's pleading stare. For a moment Jack felt a deep shame for what he held in his hand, but the feeling quickly faded as he remembered what he had to do.
"It's..." Jack looked at the firearm and tryed to hide his worried eyes "A back up plan. We have no idea what we're going to be facing out there Charles... This isn't like before. I just want to be prepared for anything." Jack would trail off as he strapped the guns holster to his side and slipped it in. Wordlessly Jack would toss Charles a taser gun and holster before grabbing one for himself and strapping it on opposite the gun itself. After grabbing a can of mace and several clips of rubber and regular bullets, Jack nodded and turned to his partner once more. "The demons aren't the only threat... You saw how many people Dunbar had on his side right? While I don't want to have to use this gun... If I do I promise I'll shoot for the knees. No one dies." Jack put on his best smile to try and convince himself he was telling the truth. "Now come on, we gatta head for Penecia, it's the second most populated Island next to Malarus, so we should try and evac as many people as we can." Jack would pat Charles on the shoulder before heading for the tunnels once more.
On his way his eyes would meet those of the little girl who approached him when they first made it to this island. She smiled and waved to him as they passed. "That's right..." Jack thought as he waved back with a heroic smile, causing the little girl to giggle and hug her ducky tighter."That's why I'm doing this... No matter what it takes, I will protect these people..."
"No matter the cost..."

| What was this... Like damn it was a backup plan! What differed them from the mob if they had to resort to such violent metods to quell one? And Jack out of all people... Jack out of all people should have been the one preaching this, not him! "I know that, but still-" He began, trying to ease his words as much as he could, but Jack abruptly interrupted him when he threw him the taser. "Sure, we're up against people too... But that's all the more reason why we should avoid using that." Somehow, he couldn't trust that Jack would only shoot for the legs. Even he could see it on Jack's false smile. The android looked at the piece of plastic in his hand when Jack already went out of the room... slightly tightening his grip, he snapped it in pieces. A scary thought darted through his mind-Jack was growing up... Still... He had to believe Jack's beliefs were unbreakable... unlike this plastic thing. And if this proved wrong... He threw it into the wall and picked up a new one. He'd have to reinforce them again...
---------------------
A riot shield in hand, Charles followed Jack as they went back into the tunnels, determined... as he saw Jack's eyes watching the civilians... Yes, determined he would do anything to prevent Jack from using that gun. Even if he couldn't match up to his partner's strenght as a Persona User, he would still have to try.
"..."
-Charles is following Jack into the tunnels... | |
