| Melia Alder "I may be my true self, but once I got rid of my mask, I lost a part of me...
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Melia "Alder" Aliases: N/A Gender:Female Age: 17 Birth Day: August 14 Arcana: Hanged Man Place of Residence: Zela School Dorms Academy Semester: 2nd Class: (We'll fill this in once you're approved. This will be your class in school)
Part/Full Time Job: Lorin Waitress. (Lorin is a small, but popular, restaurant on San Malarus, that's able to do well enough to allow Melia to work part time... It serves a wide variety of foods, from pizza to quiche. )
Base & Transformed Appearance:
Her base form is that of a 17 year old, red haired and emerald eyed girl. She's decently muscular at around 6 feet tall and her weight... is around 170-ish.
She has a large scar that runs up her back, and a scar right where her heart is which gives her fits, almost like a heart-attack, when supernatural "storms" are occurring... Melia is often seen in ether her normal everyday clothes, which varies day to day, or in her waitress uniform which is a cream colored long sleeved shirt and brown knee long dress... She also wears the few bits of jewelry she could afford, mostly a single pair of earrings that have emeralds in them, but she has been seen wearing a golden ring with rubies set in the pattern of a heart as well...
Her Shadow form is caused by stress, mostly stress caused by supernatural beings like Demons and Shadows... When the transformation begins, a stream of black liquid starts to pour from her scars, creating a vein like pattern on her skin as it crawls to her hands and down her legs...
She then gets swallowed by the shadow liquid, as it morphs around her creating her true self... of which looks like her lower body and upper body excluding her head and chest area is set within a flawed diamond, frozen. The diamond has a crack and a chipped off spot that are blood red, and match the scars on Melia's body. There are also a pair of golden horns coming out of the diamond, as shoulders, that are also connected a bottle neck that's also golden.
There is a Cheshire cat grinning, one eyed, metal mask connected to a stream of the black ooze welling from the bottleneck, with it mostly looking at it's diamond body as the best thing around it. It has a pair of arms, the left one which is slimy and covered in black ooze has a hole where the palm would be, while the right one is still slimy, but it manages to keep all the ooze at bay by having a ripped white glove on this hand and the glove extends to the elbow... Below the diamond, while still connected, is a set of golden chains surrounding the black ooze that had featureless hands, heads, and legs sticking out of it. The shadow also has skeletal wings of a kind that have the bones made of gold, and the skin between the bones being the same ooze, only the "skin" has holes and tears in them, making the wings unusable looking.
Personality: She seams like a kind girl, since she's often helping folks in need. She's also usually seen with a small smile on her face, while she goes about her business. Sometimes she can be found humming, showing that she has a great appreciation for music. She also loves to lighten up her friends moods, weather it be with a joke, or a gift.
She cant tolerate those who would lie and harm innocents for a quick buck, but she is friendly to a fault at times, often trusting the wrong people and regretting it afterwords.
She has a martyr syndrome because of her outbursts of anger, caused by her fear of causing her friends to get hurt... As such she takes insults very seriously, and holds the emotions deep inside her, often causing her more pain and suffer especially after what happened two years ago...
She also hides the fact that she thinks she's better at a lot of things than other people, but she never let it get carried away... She's also secretive, because of her But her shadow self took her thoughts and twisted it, revealing her as a diamond while the people being the grime around her...

And she can hack PC's with varying results.)

The Background
|
History:At a glance, Melia doesn't seem too unusual... But her history holds more danger and mystery than most people know. Melia was an orphan for as long as she could remember, and without a motherly or fatherly touch, she wouldn't know what a true family feels like... The only family she had, an aunt, couldn't support her. And even if the aunt could, she wouldn't be fit to raise Melia after a accident that happened a year before the red haired girl was born... Until one day, after Melia's 7th birthday, a pleasant looking man came in and asked to see the children available to adopt... And after a large amount of paper work and months later, Melia was adopted by the man, who's name was Paul Alder. He was looking for someone to carry on his thieving legacy, but he had always wanted a family as well... Being a thief doesn't get you too many dates after all.
Paul was a infamous thief that had traveled the world, and was nearing his retirement. He was more of the Robin Hood type thief, but he did keep some of the profits he stole for himself to keep himself from needing to have a real job. Paul quickly, yet steadily taught Melia how to become a thief. The lessons included not stealing the most valuable things in a place... since that's what people would miss more, how to break into most buildings, how to stay quiet and unseen to guards and the like, and how to not leave a trail that the police could follow.
Melia lived this life for years, while she somehow balanced "work" with school, until Paul finally retired... And sent her to one of the best schools she could be sent to, Zela Academy. It was also a way to keep her safe, in case Paul was finally discovered by the Police. Once she arrived at the islands though unbeknownst to her, she was in-for a horrible fate... Because the Island she arrived at was under attack from strange creatures that she is somehow been unable to avoid... Melia got stuck in a storage container while trying to run away from the creatures... Yet the creatures destroyed the building trying to get to her, bringing the building on-top of her, wounding her with a huge gash down her back.... The strange voices she hears over her, however.. It seems worried for her safety, and as Melia looks up while beading out, the face the voice came from looked like hers....
And after a sharp pain, like a dagger or sword, in her chest the next thing she remembers is waking up in a hospital, with scars on her back and chest. It took almost a year and a half before Melia was allowed out of the hospital, and by then she found out that she was "saved" by the creature that looked like herself, by fusing with it, but she's alive and still able to go about her life... She didn't want to have "thief" as a profession, so she doesn't steal, she also managed to get her job at Lorin and she's finally going to start school. The Shadow, as that's what it told her it was, commonly talks to her mentally, in a sarcastic and smug tone that drives her crazy. But they are now inseparable.....

| Alright, mostly everything regarding Background, appearance and personality are fine. When it comes to the strengths and weaknesses, lemme give you some general guidelines to follow.
Strengths that affect Social Link gain doesn't work at all. You can still have it for flavor though.
If you have a Strength, normally, you should have a counterpart weakness to balance it out. Also, if any of your strengths are combat related, you need an equal amount of weaknesses to those strengths that also affect combat. Also, while Sickness is not an ailment, you could go with a 10% resistance to being Poisoned. 10% Evasion to Physical attacks is... fine I guess, but I'd narrow it down to Soulbound attacks or Physical Skills. Not both. As for the Stealthy Strength, I'd say it should lower Detection range from Shadows by 1 square. It won't affect your allies though.
Now for the Soulbound. It's okay for it to change slightly as long as it makes sense, but a change from 1 foot to 8 feet is too much without a strength to back it up. Just note that having two weapons doesn't mean you get to attack twice with it. That's something else you need a Strength for.
Also, Sororities and Side-arms ain't a thing in Azores, so you can remove those parts from the actual sheet. | |
