| Emiko Takenaka "I might not know where I'm going, but I'll make sure that I always have a place to return to."
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Emiko Fujihara Aliases: Emi, Miko Gender: Female Age: 15 Birth Day: July 17 Arcana: Empress Place of Residence: Hayabusa School Year: First Class: 1 - A
After School Club: None
Part Time Job: None
Appearance: On the shorter side of life (fun sized, as they say) Em. iko stands just below average at an unimposing 5’3”. Though of average build, she lacks particularly defined curves and possesses modest B-cup breasts. Thanks to athletics, she has strong legs that she enjoys showing off in skirts or shorts. Her dark brown, almost black, hair is cut into a bob, often dedicated by butterfly hair clips, and her forehead is covered by bangs. Her eyes are a light green. Her voice is on the lower side, an alto.
Personality: Although Emiko is not particularly outgoing, she’s friendly and has a good reputation amongst her peers. She may be quiet, and she often keeps to herself, but she’s always ready with a smile when anyone’s looking. She's one to stand on the edge of conversations, not completely in it, but not completely apart. She interjects her thoughts here and there, but for the most part she observes. Her smile may be there, but her eyes are usually unreadable to others. When she thinks people aren’t watching, however, her face assumes its usual mask of neutrality. Others often find her hard to read; even her family does at times. This is probably because her face doesn’t always show a wide range of emotion. Her expressions rarely go to extremes; rather, they stay in a mild spectrum.
Who’s to say if there’s more going on in her head than people can see? The girl is cool-headed and responsible. She possesses a high level of patience with others, just not always with herself. Her reliability is something she prides herself on, and this sometimes leads to her biting off more than she can chew. When she does overload herself, she tries not to let on that she is struggling and hesitates to rely on others. Her independence and self-sufficiency being another one of her valued traits. This is partially because, when you don’t have to worry about yourself, you are in a better position to take care of others. Despite how distant she can be at times (and occasionally, even a bit abrasive), Emiko is a caring individual. Her natural tendency to grow concerned for others is a habit of hers that she doesn’t always like.
Even though she may come off as feminine, Emiko has interests outside of home ec. She’s a sports enthusiast, and enjoys playing them as much as watching. It’s something she really gets into and can absorb herself in when given the chance. Running is one of her favorite things about sports and she’s been doing it since elementary school. Mainly in the form of soccer, but during middle school she did track and cross country as well. The training has given her excellent speed and endurance to be sure. Although, one of the things that disappoints her the most about her sister leaving home is how she’ll have to give up her afterschool clubs. During middle school, she liked to be as involved in school as she could stand.

The Background
|
History: Emiko is used to being around people. She grew up in a closely knit family of six consisting of her mother, father, older sister, and two younger sisters. Her home life was comfortable. With both parents working to make sure things were paid for, sometimes they’d have to stretch pennies, but the girls never wanted for anything. As a child, Emiko was closest to her older sister, the two others being too young for her to really play with. They got along well for the most part, but as with all siblings, they had their fights. With four children things could easily get hectic in her family, but thanks to her mother’s organized management the days ran smoothly and any one sister was rarely overlooked. Their family relied a lot on her mother.
Emiko’s family moved to Hayabusa when she was twelve. The two main reasons were because the small town was closest to the schools she and her sisters would be attending, and due to an electrical fire that not only burnt down their house, but also took their mother. The adjustment was hard on everyone. Few of their belongings were recovered in the fire, and during the transition, the family squeezed into their grandparent’s home while her father looked for a new home.
Even after moving, they were considerably downsized, and their family dynamic was significantly changed. Her father worked longer hours farther away from home while Emiko and her older sister were left to try to fill the role that their mother used to play in the house. Taking care of her younger sisters, getting dinner on the table, doing laundry, and even making sure their father didn’t work himself too hard now fell under their jurisdiction. To make sure their home didn’t fall into chaos, they had to give some things up between school and home. Her older sister even got a part-time job to try to help her father. Though, their mother was often missed her family eventually adjusted to their new normal.
After graduating from middle school, Emiko was faced with another change. The absence of her older sister, who had moved away to go to college. While proud of her, Emiko can’t help but resent her for leaving her to take care of things alone. Although her father is still there, she feels that she can’t rely on him as she could her sister and therefore doesn’t.
