| This was it. They were finally leaving. She was finally leaving this horrendous hell behind. A hell that consumed her and corrupted her... She brushed the thoughts out of her mind quickly, tugging her suitcase gently over a stray cord that led to a vacuum cleaner. This airport sure knew how to be clean... Yet not at the same time. An odd combination, the Passive Musician thought quietly.
Her mother was on the phone with Calvin, scornful tones and rants in Japanese could be heard from the manager's phone. It didn't surprise her, to be honest. She wasn't heading 'home' any time soon. She wasn't even sure if she'd ever have a 'home' ever again after this event... After this unfortunate turn of events... It was like a roller coaster of terrible things that led to this exact moment.
Everyone decided to all move to Greenland with the small fortune they all had put together. Mallory didn't need much money and saved everything she had, Calvin was paid nicely by the music company he worked for, and Rin herself had enough money to do anything she really wanted to do at the moment. Together, they were going to move to somewhere foreign and exotic and be blessed to ignore everything else... A new start. But, something told her that she'd never have a new life after this one... That she'd only be living as a husk of herself... How does one simply leave this all behind? Pretend none of this ever happened!? People were insane, stupid, ignorant... She never wanted to feel power like she had in Azores ever again... Even if it could help people, she'd rather be a perfectly normal human than one who's blinded by power. Power corrupted..."But you showed me the bad it did to people... The bad it did to you. I'm sorry, Rin, I'm sorry you had to suffer the way you did... But now, I'm afraid it's up to no-one to decide." It stung..."I'm sorry... I can't let you do something you'd end up regretting... Remember what you told me? That you'd never kill outside of mercy... Well, I don't see any bit of mercy in this at all. So please... If you don't stop, I'll stop you." It hurt...''Did you jump too fast? That is up to you to decide. As I said, I will respect the other Angels' ideas regardless, even though I don't have an interest in seeing them happen. What I said is just... How would you say it, food for thought?'' It burnt...“You are no burden. Never were. We all have things we can and cannot do. There is no shame in that… Besides... Doesn’t family watch out for family…?” It made her bleed..."Click... Now, I'll always remember this moment, and that we shared it together. " It made her regret..."Well, how do you feel? The first one that sees me decides to join me. This could be peaceful. Perhaps if everyone joins an Angel, this Event will become unnecessary to begin with." It slowly killed her..."... Rin? Are you okay?" the familiar voice of the secretary asked her. She looked up and over to the blonde, a placid look across her face. She didn't know how to respond... How could she? Nothing made sense any more let a lone these thoughts that plagued her... It hurt to think... It hurt to remember... Why couldn't she just forget? Why couldn't she leave this all behind?"Y-Yah... I'm okay, Mall... Don't worry about me I'm just a bit tired after the ride and all..." she said with a small but reassuring smile. It didn't fool the secretary though. If anyone knew the musician, it was her secretary after all. Mallory would put on a polite smile though, knowing prodding would only upset her further. This whole catastrophe had effected her more than she would ever know.
The four of them would eventually make their ways to the seating area that had their plane's terminal. They hadn't taken Yuki's private jet... None of them wanted to be found where they were going. They'd spend a year or two isolated from their lives. Calvin being the only one who'd leave to keep his job and do business. She'd have to get a job and go back to college... It felt weird to go back to school so soon after she just left... This time she'd at least get a degree her parents would be proud of.
The day drew on until the afternoon. She hadn't told anyone she was leaving... She'd tell them she had left when she was on the plane and over yards of water. She didn't want to talk about why... She hoped everyone already knew why... It'd be an insult to her if they didn't... Only an insult though...
The plan eventually came, rolling into place and the terminal being attached to it promptly. Everyone stood one after the other, Calvin, Mallory, Dustin, Pico in a cage, and Rin... They walked one by one to the ticket taker. She was the last of her group... And before she entered the terminal's entrance, she looked over her shoulder."Goodbye..." A barely audible whisper before she entered the terminal and then the plane. She was never coming back here... She was never going to return to this place... This was an eternal farewell... She'd treat Azores like a life threatening poison if she had too... She was never coming back to this place ever again. No matter what...
The plane didn't take off for another few hours... It simply left the musician to muse over everything once again. Her endless stream of torments... She couldn't forget... That's all she wanted though, was to forget... She hadn't heard Tamara in ages or seen Mellow... Maybe those parts of her soul agreed with her... Agreed that what had happened here was only a painful stab into the inner being of her life... What point was there in living if all you did was suffer...? Maybe they were lucky... Maybe they could just stop... And only one person would miss them... Was that how Asha felt...?"I'll never forget you though... You're apart of me no matter where you are... No 'mother' can deny me that... I love you, Asha Vatishta... You're my patron... I'll live your wish the best a person like me can... This isn't our farewell... Only a bow until our next performance..." And with her final words said on Azores, the plane took off. She didn't know how to feel as she left... She felt that lingering pain in her soul... But, it felt almost... Okay... She'd never change... No, that wasn't the point though. Forgetting was... Forgetting and trying to regain some semblance of sanity... Maybe she'd get that... Maybe she'd finally forget... Hope... Maybe this tiny hope wouldn't fall into despair. Only time would tell... That's all she had now... Time. | |
