| Arondight Humans are such Squishy things...
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Arondight Aliases: Aaron Gender: Male...ish Age: 7 months, Apparent Age 15 Birth Day: September Eighteen, 0750 hours. Arcana: Fool(15% boost in soul bound weaponry attacks.) Place of Residence: School Dorms...ish School Year: First Class: 1-A
After School Club: (Are you a part of a club? If so, put it here. It needs to be a club listed on the guide here. This is optional.)
Part Time Job: (Do you have a job? If so, put it here. It can be completely custom or you can work in one of the various locations put on the board. This is optional.)
Appearance: The boy's socially acceptable appearance only really makes an appearance at school. A clever(obvious) lie about a severe scalp dermatological condition later and Arondight is permitted to wear his hooded sweatshirt at school over top his school uniform in order to keep his robotic faculties hidden beneath the bulky article of clothing. The mask of his robotic shell retracts to the back of the boy's neck. Arondight's face is actually impressively lifelike. He is capable of a wide range of expressions, the most difficult of which being a smile, and is perfectly capable of functioning as a passable human being. The aforementioned lifelike face is however typically expressionless.
Arondight's "true" form is a muscular, but completely robotic and rather intimidating powerhouse of a construct. The boy stands roughly six foot tall and is mostly a mass of blue and red impact resistant polymer and armor plating. The only real differentiating feature beside the rather intimidating mass of synthetic muscle is the face plate that the boy dons. The mask will jettison up from the back of Arondight's back and quickly wrap around his face before locking in to place. The mask is a glistening silver hue and at its center is a red light that offers a wide array of scanning technologies, providing Arondight with multiple avenues of observation.
Personality: Manic barely begins to describe the Arondight. The construct is hyperactive in every sense of the word. Everything about the Artificial Shadow-Suppression mouthful is ten times faster than the average person which tends to make him appear rather jittery whilst talking. The boy’s words often seem to run together as if he spoke exactly as the words came to mind. Of course, that is not true, but comparatively to a normal person, he might as well be speaking his thoughts simultaneously. This occasionally makes him difficult to follow, especially given that he sounds as if he is speaking through a cup whilst his mask is down. The only area of the boy’s personality that does not reflect his entirely manic sense of thought process and analytic thought is his facial expressions. The boy often carries a stoic, calming…perhaps even soothing look to his face.
Beneath the immediately noticeable quirks of the boy’s personality, he is ultimately a good person with a strong desire to save the humans, especially those with which he has formed a bond. Some would consider him ruthless, but to the boy there are multiple ways to save people. Killing an enemy or squashing a threat before it has the chance to fester saves just as many people as curing the sick or bringing life into the world. Given his lack of aptitude with either of the latter two, he’s determined that eliminating threats to people was the most suitable course of action. This gives Arondight a strange sense of efficiency when dealing with threats, often times coming off as merciless. With that in mind, Arondight has always felt certain romanticism accompanied him in his actions and theatrics were certainly not below him. Monologues, usually terrible ones, often precede any foray into the unknown and the boy almost always has a quote befitting the situation, also often horrible. In addition, he has a tendency to vocally work out problems, often speaking quickly and haphazardly in muffled tones as he tries to work out a scenario.
Apart from that, Arondight is ultimately a kind individual with a marginally compassionate soul, if a little withdrawn. Once he attaches himself to a person or group, at the present time such attachments being restricted to his family, he is a terribly loyal creature. The boy instantly becomes a lifelong friend should his trust be earned and happens to provide a handy amount of protection. Not many people wish to upset a seven foot tall metal monster. However, living in seclusion for the majority of his life has not left him without some blemishes on his personality. The boy has trouble empathizing with people, instead preferring to restrain himself to numbers and figures, primarily because they make sense, and is massively oblivious to the majority of the outside world, not fully understanding or appreciating the complexities of it.

The Potential
|
Strengths:
—Strength Name: Expanding Encyclopedia —Description: Arondight's "brain" is a limitless storage device for information and given the availability of information in this day and age, Arondight has an academic amount of knowledge in almost everything. Combined with his innate processing speed, Arondight is fully learned on everything from all forms of swordplay and martial combat to properly feng shui'ing an apartment.
—Strength Name: Super-human Parameters —Description: Considering that Arondight isn't...well...human and is instead backed by the full capacity of science and magical possessions, the boy is substantially stronger than his peers. The usefulness of this strength typically extends to him persistently being harassed to help move furniture, but it has proved useful rather frequently when dealing with pesky Shadows. In the same line of thought that the full capacity of voodoo magic and science that brought about his creation affords him more physical strength than a human, he is also substantially faster as well, able to run at a steady sixty miles per hour for hours on end.
—Strength Name: Manic Thought Processes —Description: Arondight's "brain" is substantially, for lack of a better description, better equipped than those of human beings on the planet. To prescribe a quantitative value to his cognitive capabilities, Arondight's is capable of cognitive function roughly ten times more effective than his peers. For example, Arondight processes information and reacts to stimuli ten times quicker than a normal, the word used very loosely in this world, person. Arondight has a perfect eidetic memory, is a near perfect mathematician and possesses astronomical analytic and critical thinking skills. For a practical application, Arondight could perform a perfect physical and geometric analysis on an incoming sword strike and calculate the necessary reaction in the time that anyone else would realize a weapon was drawn.
—Strength Name: Damage Resistant Exoskeleton —Description: Given the rather abundant lack of fleshy parts, Arondight is capable of taking substantially more punishment than a human would be capable of. He isn't sure how they aren't constantly afraid of being squished.
—Strength Name: Sensory capacity. —Description: Without his mask on, Arondight's sensory capabilities are pretty much identical to a "perfect" human's. When his mask is donned however, Arondight is able to process infrared, visible, and ultraviolet light and can process this information far quicker than normal optics
Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)
—Weakness Name: Second Hand —Description: Almost all of Arondight's information is second hand. Given that he is a grand total of seven months old, the boy has not been afforded an adequate amount of time to develop life experiences. Consequently, all of his thoughts, ideas, images are all someone else's. Consequently, there is a substantial lack of imagination in his movements and thought processes and he is effectively learning to create something completely from scratch. In combat situations however, the particularly astute will pick up on this and be capable of using his predictability against him.
—Weakness Name: Social Graces —Description: Given the fact that Arondight is A.) Seven months old and B.) Not human, developing a rapport with anyone outside of "Don't look at me, I'm weird" is rather difficult for Arondight to accomplish. Consequently, he is often forced in to the loner role despite the heart of gold.
—Weakness Name: Alone —Description: Arondight is the first and currently only of his kind and consequently is completely alone in this world. Crisis's of faith and identity and...really any crisis in general needs to be faced completely alone. A human would no more be able to understand him than he would understand all their swishy meat sacks and their need to excrete bodily fluids on a far too frequent basis.
—Weakness Name: Batteries —Description: While Arondight himself does not need to sleep or anything of the sort, his body still runs on a battery and as such needs to be charged. While everything needs some sort of "recharging" phase, either by sleep or consuming copious amounts of stimulants, it is far more literal a requirement for Arondight. The boy is only capable of functioning for two days straight before his system forces a shut down and he would be rendered completely helpless. Consequently, at least once every two days Arondight needs to return to his home and spend two hours recharging or he must find an alternative way to gain the needed energy lest he be rendered completely useless.
—Weakness Name:Heavy —Description: While when used in the context of super strength this tends to be a boon, but in many cases that is far from the truth. Arondight weighs approximately eight hundred pounds and while when it comes to "throwing his weight around" this is very advantageous, it is not very useful when the boy is trying to ride on a boat and it tends to completely remove any sense of buoyancy. Consequently, Arondight is deathly afraid of water and most things that are wet.
Soul Bound Weapon: (This is the weapon you'll be able to summon to your hand while in combat. This weapon is special for your character specifically and allows you to fight Shadows without the need of summoning your Persona. This can be anything but a Gun (Or gun related weapon))
Weapon Name: Secace Weapon Description: Secace, while not necessarily following the style of its namesake, is an equally powerful weapon. A sixty centimeter curved blade descends in to a square tsuba and affording a short but sturdy grip for Arondight Weapon Attack Type: Slash Weapon Element: (Leave this blank. Only special weapons obtain an element behind its blows.)

The Background
|
History: How and why might never be known, no answer has been found in the last year and it might not even matter. So instead, perhaps it is best to simply focus on the what for the time being. Arondight is the product of years of research in to robotics and the creation of synthetic life. At least, his shell was. Creating a robot to follow a series of commands has never been a problem, it's actually a relatively simple process. What has always been difficult was giving a robot the ability to learn, to create, to generate...to give a machine a soul. It was not until the emergence of the entities known as "Shadows" that the science had made any real breakthroughs and they glorious, at least initially.
One of the hardest aspects of imprinting a soul on to a machine is that a soul is so difficult to define and there was a limit to what they could do to a human's soul. A shadow however, carried the same benefits without that whole sticky moral issue. Scientists were able to capture a shadow, a manifestation of human emotion, and through study of it they hoped to be able to define, program, and engineer a soul. Of course, they couldn't actually do that, it was way beyond their current capabilities and knowledge. However, a majority of laboratory successes are through accidents an they were about to stumble upon the most lucky...and unlucky.
One of the shadows, either through a desperation to avoid further experiments or a mundane curiosity in the people constantly prodding its existence, latched on to one of the mechanical exoskeletons kept in its pen. The next morning the exoskeleton was found moving, unprovoked...it was found "alive." The creature was kept under observation for a week and during that time it had come to learn how to manipulate its body, like an infant learning to walk. They threw stimuli at the creature and it responded, just like a living person would. They had successfully created a mechanical construct with intelligence, with the capability to react without being programmed to. They wanted to meet "their" creation.
That would prove to be a most grave mistake however. As soon as they opened the door ever so slightly and afforded the machine an ounce of room to escape, Arondight confirmed that they were a threat to its well being and it reacted in kind. Arondight was an unstoppable force as it tore through the lab, ripping the scientists apart with no effort and brutally forcing himself toward freedom, slaughtering any human or machine they sent in its path. Arondight was unleashed upon the world, only the data on his week in captivity surviving the bloodbath. Something was born though, something that Arondight did not know how to process. He felt bad...he felt...guilty for what he had done. He felt emotion...he had a soul.
Over the course of the next six months and with extensive use of the internet and his cognitive processors, Arondight learned all that he possibly could about the world around him, the people that inhabited it and most of all, he researched everything he could about emotions. Over the course of those six months, Arondight learned everything he could from the internet...everything. However, that was not good enough for him, Arondight had tasted emotions, both bad and good, and he wanted more. Determining that his physical appearance most adequately suited that of a high schooler, he decided that enrolling in a school would be the most prudent course. After falsifying an adequate background and scoring rather perfectly on his entrance exams, Arondight enrolled in the Kizuna Academy, ready to embark on his search for more emotions and learning what it means to be.
