The $$7 man. (mari)

Well.... THIS was embarrassing... Jack couldn't believe he had gotten this sloppy! Maybe he was losing his edge or maybe they were getting an edge...or maybe his edge was like chipped and their edge like, locked into the chip in his edge and like broke his edge a little more. Now he'd have to completely reforge his edge?... And like... hit himself with a hammer- ok the metaphor has broken down... But the point still stands that he got careless.

Today started like any other.... with him stepping in to stop a group of seniors from picking on a freshmen. He should have known something was up when they surrendered immediately. He didn't even get to finish his Hashin dance, leaving him in his suit but with no helmet. He REALLY should have known something was wrong when the young boy he saved asked for his autograph... but then again he was awesome so perhaps that wasn't part of their plan....

He did suspect something was wrong however when two teachers came and literally dragged him by his arms away from the group... turns out the fight was staged... just to catch him in the act of heroing. Each kid in the fight got seven bucks... that's all it took for the school he so valiantly defended to turn on him eh?... seven bucks?

Regardless... Now he sat outside the student Council offices waiting to meet with the disciplinary officer... Great.... just.... great.... She would be calling him in any second now.

Mari sat within the Student Govs office alone and bored out of her mind. The other student officials were out and about, doing their own thing, while she was left in the room alone. The only reason she was still hanging out in the room was because she had the final sheets of paper to sign to complete her transfer into the school, but it was really boring. "Why did they have to have so many sheets!?" She shouted as she flipped through the dozens of pages that was left blank, she knew she should have finished this before she came but her stubbornness didn't allow her. She sat down with her upper half stretched on the table on top of the papers, while she was swinging her legs underneath. When suddenly the door swung open, with her lifting herself up quickly from the noise.

A member from the Gov, walked in, a bowl hair cut and circular glasses, he looked like the average nerd. He walked in and explained that there has been rumors of a "hero" among the study body and his fame for protecting the weak has gotten out of hand. "Ya ya ya, just bring em here. I'll take care of it." She sat back down, obviously not really interested, hoping for some real work, not some school jokester running around in a latex suit. Moments later a knock on the door, insinuating that they had caught and brought the person was left right out side. Piling up her papers, to look presentable before bringing out the hate will surely surprise them.

She opened the door to a young man wearing some kind of super hero suit that you'd find low payed actors wear in those ranger show for kids. She stared at him with curious eyes as she tilted her head a bit in distaste. "I thought they were going to bring me the culprit, not the victim? Who made you were that hideously designed outfit!?" She shouted toward him with her index finger pressing against the tip of his nose. She stood their with on hand on her hip, awaiting for the boys answer.

Sigh as if things couldn't get worse.... no sooner had he gotten comfortable, no small feat mind you given the shitty chairs the school tends to buy with it's GROSSLY oversized budget, had a rather scrawny kid with a bowl cut and thick coke-bottle glasses told him, rather rudely he might add, that it was time to get up and meet with the chair woman... wait... this kid looked familiar... Yeah!"Hey! Didn't I save you from Butch and his goons? Yeah last week they were gunna kick you but five ways to Sunday cus you refused to do his Sociology project... Glad to see my good deed's were properly rewarded..." Jack eyed the scrawny student, fire in his eyes. The kid mumbled something about having no idea what he was talking about and quickly left.

Jack shook the exchange off and walked into the room... and was promptly insulted! Wow... Record time! He was kinda impressed to be honest. Jack's eyes sharpened a bit as he felt the flame in his heart flicker slightly as he eyed the girl,"Oh he was about ya big," Jack raised his hand to be level with the top of his own head,"Incredibly smart, a technological genius, and hero to the weak and downtrodden of this school. Oh! and if it helps narrow your search he currently has a finger jabbed in his nose." Jack backed up a step and eyed the new girl before him... She seemd... fiery... For some reason that Jack just couldn't put his finger on... "I assume you called me in here to give me a medal for helping keep the school safe?" Jack would punctuate this with a smirk and crossing his arms over his chest.

Once she asked for what she wanted, that's what she had gotten it, the young lad started to burst out information about this hooligan that weirdly resembled the boy that sat in front of herself. In the end, he took a step back before standing before her as he stared her down. She stood their now with her arms crossed under her chest, holding a front. He apparently assumed that he was called in for an award but that wasn't the case.

"Wrong, your actually making things worse, for both the school and myself. From what I've been told you've been punishing the strong and saving the weak, in some cases your just continuing the cycle. The reason we have a Disciplinary portion within the government, is to hold those that are doing the wrongs against themselves. To bring them down without properly stopping any further attempts, you are pushing them to continue." She started preach to him about a bit of her opinion, but none the less, the truth. For him to continue these actions without even the governments say so, would just worsen the problem. "I mean if you were doing any good, you really think you'd be forced in here?" She said as she went and reached for the set of papers that were laid down on the table making space for the kid. "You sit there, I don't wanna fill anything out other then these transfer papers, so I'll just keep an eye on you till school's over." She insisted as she closed the door beside them.

She pulled out another chair and placed it at the same table before patting the free seat just for himself. "So what's your name?" She asked curiously.

Wow... She was blunt. Jack could respect that. Though something about what she said and how she said it was very... familiar.... Like he had been told it several times before... Oh yeah!... This is almost exactly like what his father would tell him. "Jack! You can't go around fighting crime!" "Jack! You're only makeing it harder on the police! Let me and my men handle this!" "Jack! No you can't have cereal  for dinner!" It's always the same with him. At least that meant Jack was well prepared for this argument... heck, he had it last night.

"Oh you're right, I should simply wait for people to get hurt to act instead of preventing it in the first place. Instead I'll just sit by while I watch people get hurt and suffer while we wait for you guys to catch up.. Tch... And you make it sound like I pick on people who are strong. Oh contraire, I admire the strong. It's those who use that strength to take advantage of those without that make my blood boil. Jack sighed and sat down in the chair across from the eye patched girl."Don't get me wrong.... As soon as I take down a miscreant, the first thing I do is send em to you guys. I understand and respect your system... I just find it slightly flawed... Me being here case in point."

Jack eyed her papers ... she was a transfer student... huh... From the looks of those papers she must not have been here long. Yet she was already a chair, well she wasn't literally a chair (Jack thought) but she did sit in one, on the student counsel? Impressive. "Well that depends on what you want to call me... The people I protect refer to me as Personanger Red, but my friends call me Jack. How about you? I was gunna call you Miss.Discipline but I suppose your real name would be a bit better heh.... Also I can't help but notice your transfer forms... and the fact that you're not the same butch, 250 pound man I normally deal with. So I can only assume you're new.... Or ARE you the same butch 250 pound man I normally deal with?... Cus if you are you've lost a LOT of weight sense the last time I saw you... You look Great! Hehe"

Mari sat down only to be lectured about his own opinion of the situation but it was probably some quote from television show he watched last night. She was a bit annoyed and dug her hand into her hair, but what he should know that what he wants, is what everyone wants, it just isn't that easy. If it were, it'd be just as easy for those that want to continue their prowess throughout the school and just turn into a two sided war, with herself and the rest of the disciplinary gov stuck in the middle trying to quell them both. It was good that he didn't like bullies nor their abuse of their own power, but to be a vigilante he just makes himself a target both of the bullies and the disciplinary gov.

He finally sat down, while she continued to sign off on these stupid transfers and noticed him eying her papers. He started to explain how to go about how he is acknowledged, but to be honest it was better then doing this. He mentioned that his name was jack, though followed with Personaranger Red which was confusing in of itself, which made her chuckle.
"Miss Discipline, that sounds like a cool nickname. My actual name is Mari Jaeger." She replied, while he mentioned that of another gov member that was usually found here, named butch. She recalled someone of the sort, especially when describing him as a 250 pound guy. But Jack continued on, in which she thought was a joke but it was pretty bad, she didn't know if she should take it as a joke anymore. She rose a brow when he tried to make a joke as to butch being her.


"...No....that is Butch. I told him to walk around the grounds of the school. Mostly for his own benefit but to check out the scene outside. I haven't been here long but I kinda wanna finish these, before doing anything official myself." She explained, as she lifted the pile of papers she has to sign. "But what about you? Is this what you do all day? Wear some costume and run around school? Are there others like you?" She questioned, wondering what he'd say.

Jack smiled and let himself relax a bit. He could tell she felt his ideals were silly, childish, and wholly idiotic.... though... He couldn't really hold that against her, everyone did... That didn't change anything though. Jack was fully used to people misunderstanding his heroic deeds as a cry for attention or some childish game. Why was it so hard for people to understand he was truly genuine in his attempts to become a Ranger.... Regardless. She didn't seem like she was going to directly make fun of him so there was no harm done.

"Well Mari, it is very nice to meet you, I would have prefer we meet under nicer circumstances, but hey beggars can't be choosers heh." Jack smiled. In spite of her... frankly cold disposition so far. He could see a spark in her eyes. An unmistakable flame that he recognized as one similar to his own. "Me? Heh... In spite of my weird attire I am just another student. I do go to classes and get some good grades to boot. I just use my free time to make sure the people of our fair city have a savior, and while yes there are more Personangers... I'm the only one who truly takes it seriously. There's a Blue, Green, Black, and Gold Personanger as well. But if you want names I'm afraid I can't do that."

Jack's smile grew wider as he put his feet on onto the table and leaned back in his chair,"Ah... Ya know, seeing as how you're the new Miss.Discipline, I get the feeling you're gunna be seeing a lot of me. So why not get to know each other a little bit? Like for instance... What classes are you taking?"

"Well Mari, it is very nice to meet you, I would have prefer we meet under nicer circumstances, but hey beggars can't be choosers heh." Were the words that came out of his mouth, she was kinda astonished as to the sincerity in his words, but it was truthful. She let out a soft smile as he continued on without a thought, going on about the rest of the Personangers, as if they were real super heroes.

He suddenly started to get comfortable within the student gov room, leaning back with his feet on the table, as if he could whatever he wanted. He asked her what were the classes she was taking but she wasn't really taking classes at the moment, it was one of the reasons she was cooped up in the gov's room, rather then run around the school. She placed her finger on her lip, thinking on it. "I'm not taking any classes now, but the one's I'm most anticipated to join, are well all of them." She spoke with glee. "I'm the new kid on the block and can't wait to meet everyone. And it is a shame to meet like this. I might have to stop you." She said with a snicker.

She tilted herself back, lifting her leg and kicked his feet off the table, before returning to her original position of sitting down. "How about you, what are your classes looking like." She asked.

Oh....OH! Oh ok... So that was how the game was going to be played eh? And yes... it was a game. This, Jack thought, was a back and fourth between two people with different interpretations of the same end. Jack started the game by putting his feet on the table, she accepted the game by joyfully kicking them off instead of asking him to take them down... not that he would have if she HAD asked... but that is besides the point.

"Stop me? You want to stop the power rangers? Heh. I may have to call you Rita Repulsa instead, Miss.Discipline. Regardless..." Jack said as he got up from his seat and sat on the table next to were Mari had been filling out her paperwork."I'm glad to see you're so gung ho about fitting in around here. If you want I could show you around later. It's always better to have a friend to show you the ropes after all." Jack happily laughed and brought his hand to his chin to emphasize his thought process,"As for the classes I'm takeing... Lets see... Honors Calculus 2, Advanced Mechanics and Design, Introduction to Robotics... OH! and Interpretative Dance." Jack added a smile on that last one... He wasn't joking though... Where else wold he get his fancy poses?

After kicking his feet from the table, he gave her a weird look as if she had just accepted a challenge, to battle to the death. She didn't realize that she just started something and she could tell from his personality that it wasn't going to stop until he won, but the thing was, she was the same way. But quickly afterward he started, talking about the rangers again, which was odd since she didn't even bring them up, let alone plan on stopping them, unless they become a threat to the school, of course.

He stood up from his chair and started to walk around the table, pushing toward her. She followed his movements as he got closer to her, he slowly made his way on top of the table. His rear end sat onto the table, which for her might not be too sanitary, seeing as that suit of his could have literally been anywhere."I'm glad to see you're so gung ho about fitting in around here. If you want I could show you around later. It's always better to have a friend to show you the ropes after all." He said with glee. It made Mari kinda happy for someone to see her try so hard even though she's just starting, most people are usually timid.

"Sure thing, probably not today or anything. But just let me know before hand, I'd like hang around. But not on any missions or anything." She agreed though tried to make sure that he understood that, the rangers thing wasn't any part of it. He raised his chin as he stroked it and started to name off all the classes he was taking, his classes sounded that of a...well smart student. Was she wrong about him, well at first they did. But once you learn his theme, the rest is all just connected and has something to do with anything ranger like. She sighed as he soon finished speaking. "Those sound, interesting. But I didn't know that this school had such diverse classes, I just thought it was a regular school." She replied with her small knowledge of the actual school, even though she did transfer and join the gov, with little to no effort.

"Hows tomorrow after classes get out feel? I'll be free for most the afternoon and will have plenty of time to show you around and introduce you to all the people you need to know to get by around here. Yours truly being one of them. hehe." Jack laughed and hopped off the table taking a walk around the room taking in the sights and trying his best to nonchalantly move towards the door.

"And yeah this school has classes on nearly every subject... More akin to a college then anything else. The down side to it being so big is some people just fall through the cracks... There's always so much going on with so many people that some times smaller things just get forgotten because they don't impact the whole of the school. But those tiny things can still make someone's life a living hell. That's where I come in. I catch the things that fall through the cracks." Jack looked wistfully out the window into the court yard and smiled as it filled with students leaving for the end of the day. In moments like this Jack felt the happiest. He looked out over them and could pick out individual smiling happy faces that he had saved. He felt no regret for his actions, only pride.

"Well that was last bell. We should get going eh?"

It seemed like Jack was really excited to hang out, enough to make plans for it tomorrow. It wasn't wrong but his excitement could be enough for the both of them and more, but it wasn't to say she wasn't excited. She could only wonder what she'll see and the people that he'd introduce her, well she was a bit concerned as to who they might be. Specifically meaning the rangers, which she knew was going to be the case.

"Sure whatever you want, Jack. Your making it sound like the day is for your enjoyment rather then my own. But it's all in fun I guess." She stated as he started to walk throughout the room. He explained how the school covered all these subjects, which made her consider her own classes, might get something changed in order to better her experience and take the chance to take something that she likes.

After looking out the window, mentioning that it was the last bell. She let out a large sigh, the guys she sent out should still be outside and keeping watch as to the students that were leaving. So it should give her a bit more time to work on these papers, hand them in and go help out with the rest of them. "Nah, I'ma stay here and finish this up. I should finish it soon, so I can help the rest of the student gov. Thanks for the company though, I didn't think it'd end up like this." She said with a chuckle. Before watching Jack leave the the room.

[Thread Ended, with Mari staying in the room]

"Whatever floats yer boat Miss.Discipline, I'll meet ya here tomorrow after classes let out. If ya ask nicely I'll even show you around my secret base! But ya gatta promise to be quiet about it. Cus it's a secret." Jack smiled and waved as he left the room. It wouldn't be until much later when he was working on his home work that he would realize.

"Wait... She never got around to punishing me..."
