The first thing people tend to notice about this island is the fact that the sky has a shade of red, that goes as far as the eye can see. The island itself is actually less barren than the original Malstu. It has a good-sized town guarded by a man-made wall of hard rock and material, and numerous guards looking over it, taking up more of the island than the volcano did in the original Malstu. The odd quality about this world is that there is no kind of volcano, rather, where there would be in the real Malstu, a sinkhole takes its place, which is not only not as large, but is filled with what seems to be black and purple tar, and almost seems as though it were moving. When people travel through this world, they may find themselves witnessing a black and purple explosion of tar and Shadows landing in their path. The result of this kind of life is that most inhabitants have Personas. Though whether they are under Philemon or Nyarlathotep, it seems that no matter what, they all seem to work with each other and survive just to keep the town safe and preserve their life, and none of them suffer consequences, as it seems the Gods do not interfere. There are users of this power that can act as guards of parts of the town when it is predicted to erupt. What is also interesting to note is that the places where the ruins would be in the real Malstu, are just small clearings with metal plating over the ground, as if covering up something. The portals to this world seem to end up outside the city gates, mostly near the front of the gates themselves.
