Ruben I’m afraid you’ve got the wrong impression. I am not a monster, merely the sound of the rage which lies within a lion’s heart. The universe tells me what song I shall play next, and I do nothing but obey its wishes.
The Biography
Birth Name: George Aliases: The Devil of Georgia, The Chaotic Violinist Gender: Male Age: 16 Birth Day: December 20th Arcana: Hermit Place of Residence: Limbo :: The Dreamscape Aberration School Year: N/a
Class: None, George was tutored by hired teachers since he has spent so much of his life on music tours now. Ruben does not attend school.
After School Club: None, George wouldn’t have the time even if he did attend school. Ruben has no interest in such things.
Part Time Job:George was a professional violinist prodigy as his job before his shadow-self overtook him, but Ruben does occasionally street preform if he feels up to it, though not for the money, simply for the attention.
Base & Transformed Appearance:
Before being defeated by his shadow self, George has very few features that would make him stand out in a crowd, aside from his bright red framed glasses and almost neon bright red tie that he likes to wear when he’s not getting ready for his next concert. Usually in suits or other professional clothing, he dresses for more appearance than comfort, wanting to put on a positive image where ever he goes. His eyes are a light brown, and his hair a sleek black. He almost always has his brown violin case in his hand. His violin is a rather expensive one of high quality, but this is hard to tell by the untrained eye.
Ruben, on the other hand, has silver-white hair, and eyes that seem to glow with an almost artificial amount of blue, despite the shadow selves usual eye colors. He, in contrast to the ‘true’ self, dresses for comfort rather than looks, often wearing hoodies and sweatpants if he can. The instrument he carries with him is rarely ever in its case, nearly always tucked under his arm. It is an electric semi-clear, black violin, and he puts his bright blue headphones around his neck in case he needs to plug them in to practice without making a sound, trying out any technique he has not done before.
Ruben’s true self could probably be best described to the outside world as a demon-like creatue with bright red skin and black decorating his knees, the wings on his back and his face. It’s a rather terrifying sight, with his jagged tail and black claws and teeth, but somehow, this creature is still capable of holding and playing his treasured instrument. Despite how horrifying Ruben’s true appearance may be, he still doesn’t lose any of his grace in his movements, though his beauty in the execution of his movements is well matched with his fierceness.
Personality: George is a soft spoken, reserved, but still friendly individual. He’s mostly let his life be engulfed by the pressure to live out his legend to be a musical prodigy, and is rather passive as a result. He has trouble dealing with people beyond a professional level, and can often become easily flustered in everyday conversations. He has very little friends due to the fact that he is constantly busy, but does still enjoy intelligent conversations around anyone he is comfortable with. Most of his personality is shown through the way in which he plays his violin, passionate, strong but delicate, someone lost in the beauty of his own art.
Ruben, on the other hand, is a completely free spirit. He does not let the rules society has put down before his birth get in the way of what he wants to do, even if it brings harm onto himself. He’s a being of impulse, though, not defiance. He will play on the rooftops of buildings at two in the morning because he feels as though the stars are calling out for him to do so, to let the world know of their beauty. To him, everything around this world moves in a fluid song, a play to be acted on, as he only serves as the music in the background to add to the mood. He tries to put grace in everything he does, be it the way in which he dances about in puddles of blood on the ground with his instrument on his shoulder still, humming as he plays a haunting tune to accompany the massacre he has helped spring forth by enraging the parties involved, or the way he bows and smiles after having brought a small giggle from a child’s lips after they had asked him to play a song. He is sometimes dangerous, other times as gentle as can be. He simply goes with whatever he thinks will put on the best show, regardless of what the consequences are to him or the outside world as long as it creates a tale worthy for kings to tell. A clever daredevil, a beautiful embodiment of chaos.
The Potential
Strengths:
—Strength Name: A tamer must walk fearlessly into the Lion Den’s —Description: As far as combat goes, Ruben as essentially knows nothing of fear. Why should he, after all, if he believes that everything that is bound to happen is simply part of the act of life? Threats of any kind do not make him tremble. If he is to meet his death, so be it. He only asks to play one last chord to finish his symphony as he exits the stage. Better to go down facing the lion as its more ferocious beauty than to be ripped apart cowering the corner. —Strength Name: The Wild Card: Advantage —Description: Despite his existence as a shadow self, Ruben’s alliances to Limbo are…unpredictable at best. It all truly depends on the characters he encounters, the people who he thinks will put on the best show. Entertain him, and you might find he has the strangest alliances when it comes to choosing who to call his friends. Though he looks at them as parts of a symphony more than human beings in his eyes, as it takes quite a lot for him to get truly attached to someone as something else than a tool. Regardless, this means that despite his background, Ruben does not limit himself on who he can come to call his allies. Users, other Shadow selves, Children, robots…he cares very little as long as they can add some spice to his life. He’s also very charismatic as a result, and willing to interact with just about anyone in a flattering way, trying to find how they fit into the story of the tapestry of life. —Strength Name: Nightmare Flight —Description: In his true form, Ruben is a very agile flyer. The wings behind his back are not just for show, he knows very well how to use them as he takes off to the air above the field of battle, never missing a note as he’s playing the tune to accompany the chaos below. He uses this to try and stay out of the physical fight, to inflict his aliments from the sky. He’s very fast, and aims to hover over his prey like a haunting nightmare. —Strength Name: Music, I need nothing more —Description: It goes without saying at this point unless you haven’t picked it up already but...Ruben is an incredibly talented musician, so much so that it seeps into every part of his life. It’s present in the way he moves, steps as if he were in a constant dance, violin put onto his shoulder at the slightest inspiration, in the middle of everyday conversations to express his emotions. He does not need to think about techniques or notes unless he is trying to develop something new, as it is as natural to him as breathing. What he does can hardly be called improvisation, it is a life that breathes through him. He can capture nearly any scene of nature, be it the falling of leaves from an old oak or the fierceness of thunder roaring through the sky. The emotions of others are prone to influence from what he plays, notes seeming to have a life of their own. It should be noted, however, that this possible manipulation of others emotions is nowhere near as powerful in his human self as it is in his true self, where the pieces he plays are his primary forms of attack via mental aliments. —Strength Name: The Orchestra Needs All its Parts —Description: It can be extremely difficult to connect to Ruben on a personal level, given his chaotic tendencies at times and his inability to think of himself as much more than literally background music, but there is a rather strong payoff if you are able to make him think of you as someone important to him. Most of the time, his rage at seeing his team members get hurt will only extend to ‘this wasn’t part of the plan, it’s not right’, but if you’re a character he’s become attached to and does not want to lose in his life; he’s willing to do near about anything to keep them safe. If it requires thinking logically about what he’s doing for once, or even dent his precious violin to fight back the threat. Emotions usually ignored or held back will be present then. He will never leave the troubled friend in question until either he or the attacker is dead. Weaknesses:
—Weakness Name: The Wild Card: Disadvantage —Description: The major drawback to Ruben’s usual concept of alliance despite his class is that he’s more than likely to get himself in a quite a bit of trouble by allowing himself to be so flexible. It’s not that he’s unaware of the consequences his actions may bring about, but he would rather go down trying to uphold his art rather than force himself into a role that does not entertain him. Once again, there’s also the clear disadvantage that it’s hard for him to form a proper alliance. If he’s not careful, he might find himself either destroyed or alone.
—Weakness Name: Hey, I’m not fighter…not like that! —Description: Despite Ruben’s fearlessness at facing down nearly any threat, one thing he has quite a difficult time with is physical attacks. Simply put, he hates doing them. He would hate to dent his precious violin unless absolutely necessary, and therefore keeps a distance from the main fight. He will not ever use his soul-bound weapon in a physical attack unless forced to or if he needs to in order to save someone who is in a lot of trouble. He will use his black claws of his true self to attack physical bodies in PVP, but that’s it.
—Weakness Name: Beauty Over Safety —Description: Another major problem Ruben tends to have in combat is that he does not always go with what is rational, and rarely every communicates and strategizes with his team members. He simply goes with what he thinks would look the best on stage, whether it would be enraging an animal creature to have it bare its teeth or making a more maiden-like shadow cower in fear despite whatever might be best at the moment. He’ll only think logically if the situation is dire. But, by then, there are chances of it being far too late.
—Weakness Name: I am Simply Background Music —Description: Due to his submission as a servant of the world’s stage, Ruben has a rather low sense of self worth, despite how highly he might seem to think of himself. If he does not take actions to preserve his own life, it’s because he does not value it in the way he should. A slave to his art, he has trouble thinking of himself as a person at all. Fitting, perhaps, given what he is.
—Weakness Name: People are…Strange. —Description: Though a charismatic character for sure, Ruben knows little of how to connect to people to form long term friendships or relationships. He doesn’t understand why anyone would want to stay with him outside of their entertainment or his use in battle. Though surely capable of forming meaningful connections despite what he is, it’s very difficult. He cannot understand his emotions towards others without having it be explained to him. Otherwise, he’ll try to dismiss them.
Soul Bound Weapon:
Weapon Name: Golden Fiddle Weapon Description: This ‘weapon’ is exactly what it sounds like it is: a violin made of solid gold. Ruben’s instrument takes this form when he transforms into his shadow self, and has very little trouble using it, just as if it were a regular violin. His mental aliments that he casts are channeled through the music. (This doesn’t really have any effect on battle, it’s purely due for aesthetic reasons ) Weapon Image:

The Background
History: George’s life has been scheduled for as long he can remember with plans from his family and his managers. Ever since he was the age of four, it has been obvious that the boy held a genius like level of musical talent after an evening where he was left in a room with a piano for several hours as his father worked on construction diagrams as an architect, before the parent came to realize that his child was already composing music on his own. Curious, both of his parents then introduced him to various forms of instruments to see if any others sparked great interest with him. Though for a year he exceled at nearly every one they showed him, none was stronger than his love for his violin, and since the age of six, it’s rare that it ever leaves his side.
What was once passion, however, has nearly started to fade away in recent years, as his family has done well to try and show off their little prodigy to the world, gaining quite a massive load of money for it in return as well. Pressure and stress to always play at his best even when he nears exhaustion has drained much of the enjoyment that he once had. Before he would have stayed up nights memorizing pieces simply because he wanted to, but now he finds there are nights he doesn’t sleep at all because he hasn’t learned something to perfection that he has to preform the next day.
Ruben is, in many ways, the incarnation of this lost spirit. A passion that, quite literally, is so desperate to be found again that it will eat him alive. He is everything that George wishes to be, at times, someone not tied down by the pressures of society, but simply a slave to the art of music he adores so much. It’s a shame that only a single actor can play a role, despite how many might want it.
