| The bell had finally rang for the end of classes. That was the end of the day. Jin wished to go after Aburai, but perhaps it was best to call that off. He didn't want to increase suspicion on his person after all. There really wasn't much to do left, but to attend to that practice he promised Lorielle. The insomnia had caused him to feel lethargic as his consciousness wavered once. Coffee didn't seem to help much this time. And he couldn't even dare to smoke until he left the campus grounds. With haste, the teacher tried to leave the school as soon as possible as he dragged a suitcase of learning materials and papers behind him. | |

| The second year teacher sat at his desk as the final bell rang. His students wasted no time to leave the classroom, but he was more patient. There was no reason to rush in this day and age, especially with all the recent events. Gathering his materials into his briefcase, he'd make his way to the first floor exit in a swift stride to head towards the parking lot. His key was already in hand, ready to pull off the moment he reached his car. | |

| As Jin reached the parking lot, he saw a familiar figure walking briskly to a car. The person was leaving the premises was no other than Yui. The second year teacher of this academy. There was still something he had to find on this case with the Principal. Perhaps he might try to get something out of him.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Yui," he called while walking closer towards him, "Are you leaving now?"

| The older teacher looked towards the man with a raised brow. "Obvious answers should not be given to obvious questions, Zong Wu. And please refer to me as Surikawa." The man spoke with an easy tone as he looked at the substitute teacher. "Is there something you needed from me?" Yui looked towards the man with his usual stoic gaze, not really displaying any sort of emotion that could display what he was thinking at the moment. | |

| "Ah, of course. How silly of me," Jin agreed sheepishly at his senior.
Surikawa was certainly someone more composed than his two other teachers. He certainly liked these kinds of people. Those with a clear head usually found solutions where it cannot be easily seen. However, this meant he would have to be careful in choosing his words with this individual. And it was even harder to choose the right words, of course. Yet, it was too late to back out now.
The much younger teacher started gently, "I have been meaning to ask if you have seen Miss Shepard today. I believe she's absent?"
Of course, he may get the answer that she is spending time at home in depression. Jin already had an idea why. But he needed something to start with before revealing the actual question he really had.

| The second year teacher took this time to look at the man full on with a raised brow of curiosity. Now Yui wasn't the one to display much emotion, so it was hardly anything to take note of, but he was obviously in thought as there was a pause between the question and his coming answer. Clearing his throat, the older man spoke. "Ms. Shepard has her days where she may take off. Especially during troubled times. There's nothing to worry about." Yui pressed his glasses up on the bridge of his nose, still in thought about one thing or another. | |

| "I see," Jin acknowledged his answer with a nod, "I heard from Aburai that she was actually close to our late principal. So I guess that explains it"
It was something to note that this man took some careful deliberation to answer his junior. Perhaps he does know something after all. Now, he just needed to make careful steps into this unmarked territory.
The teacher continued, "That said, I've been rather curious. What was Principal Platiere like actually? I've only met him on the job interview. From what I've heard of others, he seems to be a good person. But is there anything else to note about him, Mr. Surikawa?"

| "Aburai said that, hm? I suppose he would know. He's rather close to Nola." Yui put his key into the door of his car and unlocked it. When the man asked another question, the teacher didn't look towards him. "The Principal was a great man. Though he had strange means, he always reached the end he was reaching for. Some people didn't understand that, and as such perhaps he made alot more enemies than friends in his life. But that's all the past." The older man stopped and looked over his shoulder at Jin with narrowed eyes. "...I'd be a fool to think you're suddenly interested in the Principal because of his death. Tell me Jin, why are you asking about that man? I will be frank, your timing here and then his death was quite coincidental. I am not a man who suspects everything based off coincidence, but I've heard the Detective refer to you as a potential suspect. I wouldn't be asking too many questions about the deceased. It only brings attention to yourself in the end. And in this case, not good attention. Just like myself, you're most likely being watched by that woman aswell. She has eyes like a hawk, and seeing how you're a suspect I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't having you watched right now." | |

| There was very little information got from him. But there was one thing that was verified, even the Principal didn't seem loved by everyone. Yet, that was very weak information if anything. And that was something it was probably going to cost him.
"In all honesty? It's just really curiosity that had been sitting with me ever since I've been employed here," Jin admitted to him, "Never really had much time to attend to it since I've been busy trying to get used to here."
The Chinese rolled his shoulders into a shrug while looking back at Yui sheepishly before continuing after hearing about the detective. The same person he kept hearing about back at in the faculty office with her younger brother and Aburai.
"But yes, I've heard about Detective Kiryu. I'm not too worried about myself, in all honesty. Since I believe myself to be innocent, I really have nothing to hide. But anyways, I beg your pardon for holding you up. I'll be going now. Take care, Mr. Surikawa."
With a bow in farewell at the older gentleman, Jin then started to head to his car to start the engine. With the vehicle swerving out of the space, it drove off from the campus.
