Afternoon: Club of Cats (Zavie)

Snow had spent her morning trying to find a location to set up shop; however, she had been sidetracked when she met a man in the Sunlake Palms area. While she typically did not bother to engage in long conversations, this particular man had caught her attention and so instead of continuing to search for a spot to set up shop, she had passed the time chatting with the fellow. She couldn’t explain why she had decided to do that, so maybe it was a whim thing. She wondered if she'd ever run into him again. Hmm. Curious, but not relevant at the moment.

Pushing that thought aside, she had moved on and done a bit more looking around the area to get a better feel for the lay out of the place and once done, she decided that Sunlake Palms did indeed have the potential to be a good spot to setup shop. The traffic was low, yet steady. It was a perfect start out and if all else failed she supposed she could take her wares to the busier sections and see if the masses had interest in them. Though she’d probably save that as a last resort. She preferred quieter areas over the madness of the big city. It was easier to get to know the locals and in turn form real relationships over just seeing random faces daily. Yes this would be a great start.

Quite content with her scouting, Snow would take her leave from Sunlake Palms' residental area and head back to the Inn where she had left her stuff. She decide not to stay in town since she had found her ideal shop location a lot quicker than she had thought. Grabbing her belongs, she would go downstairs to the pay the inn keeper.

While she understood she didn’t need to pay due to the fact she hadn’t really stayed in the room long enough to warrant a fee, the woman still felt that she should pay the woman as a way of thanking her for letting her borrow the room anyway. The innkeeper had tried to get her to take the money back, but she refused to do so as she left the inn. She would hit the streets once more heading from Sunlake Palms back out to East Eden.

Once back in East Eden, she would first find a place to hide her items before taking a moment to collect only her a hunting knife and her healing items for now.

Once her items were secure and well hidden, she would move her way out of the trees and drift across the field to the main road. On the main road, she would pause to look around, trying to determine what she wanted to do. She guess she could pay that ranch a visit. Maybe she could buy a horse there or something. Yeah. The ranch would be her first stop and then from there whatever else.

With her mind set, she would begin her travels to the ranch….

Snow would continue to walk along the path ways that were familiar to her, her mind focused on her task but her senses open to the world around her. Her ears would take in every little sound, her eyes all the details of the beautiful area around her, her nose all the scents. Nothing would get past this particular drifter that was neither aligned with the government or the rebels that were about causing chaos. She would continue her walk in a relaxed fashion; however, the more she walked under that beautiful sky the more she began to feel a strange pull in her stomach.

The sort of pull that told her that despite everything appearing to be normal and peaceful, something was watching and following her. Whether this was an animal of some sort or something else she wasn’t quite sure, but the fact that there was something there put the drifter on edge. While her body remained relaxed and her scanning of the area casual, she was looking for signs of what it may be that followed her. Was it human? If so it had to be really small. Maybe a child….Though she didn’t see anything that suggest man or child…so maybe it was a beast then? Hmm… a rather quite beast…maybe a cat of some sort or another prowler type. She would sniff the air quietly trying to catch a scent. Nothing there. So what was it? She wasn’t sure, but for now the woman remained relaxed enough as she stuck to the path though she let her other senses stretch out to try and find her mysterious shadow. If this failed…well she had other methods of finding the source….

Heh. Her shadow was indeed good at keeping itself quiet and well hidden from her senses. Unlike a wild beast, she couldn't pinpoint this one, leaving this shadow to be one of two things: A machine or a human. Since the former wasn't as likely she assumed this being was a human, so she would continue on her path before unexpectedly veering off into the brush. At first she would let herself be seen, but then crossing behind a tree, the woman would disappear?

That is right. The woman would go behind the tree and not reappear, but where she had gone well. Hehe....wouldn't you like to know? Perhaps she was waiting behind the tree, spying on the area from the shadows waiting for her follower to slip up. Maybe she had ducked in the tall brush and was now peering out at the world from its leafy embrace. Or maybe she went up in the tree to get a better view of the landscape and potentially find her prey. The choices were many, but which one she had chosen only time would reveal.
