Appearance:
Vivian is at the height of 5'5” and weighs 137 lb. Her natural appearance while not under a disguise reveals her periwinkle hair that reaches to her shoulders, and her blue eyes with strange ripples in them; though she just tells everyone it's a birth defect. For her age, her body looks rather young, and most may be shocked to learn her age and ask how she looks so young, though she'll never say. Her body is without obvious muscle, though it does have a certain leanness. When out on the field, she could be wearing anything in particular such as a dress, something warm, light, anything that is necessary to get the job done and help her blend in, though no matter what, many would call her gorgeous, a knockout even. She does keep posture out in her job, though on the flipside, when she is alone with her son. Her clothes range from anything, but all of them tend to show her off when she tries to be shown off, and hide them when she wishes to blend, such as disguises, wigs, and the like.
Alternate Appearance: If she turns from a Cadet to a Terrorist, she will wear a black suit with feline motifs. She'll acquire yellow goggles to protect her eyes. On top of that, she'll put on various makeups to confuse her appearance, such as a color base to tint her skin color and lipstick. She would carry no name at night, and in fact normally does not use the suit itself save for circumstances outside her job.
Personality: There are a few things that surround what Vivian Oates is like. What she’ll give off immediately should you meet her in business is a cool, collected salesman ready to give her all on a job. Outside of work, you may see her as a casual, curious individual who stares a lot. And it is indeed part of what she’s like, if albeit a part. She is confident, at the end of the day a good person and willing to help those she cares for when necessary. Her honor is questionable when it comes to her job, as she is willing to play and fight dirty to finish her work properly without a hitch. She is also not afraid to throw about her wilds on or off the clock when she wants or needs to, and is quick on the tongue.
Vivian is willing to play whatever role necessary, and perhaps as a result of playing various roles, she swings both ways; though as far as romance goes, she does not exactly prefer to stick to one individual, or at least she has not found the right individual yet. Inside, she is motivated in many things she does by the simple thrill of her job. She works alot with the Detective Agency for many reasons, some of which being information and nice connections. She is however looking to start her own business with wares and the like for those who may need them. She indeed loves her money, and enjoys the bustling nature of things. Crowded areas, loud noises and constant movement make her happy.
Inside her daytime job at the Maid in Heaven, she is more flirtatious; eccentric even, acting unorthodox to get the attention of boys and girls alike who visit the cafe. Her true visage of being a thrill-seeker is kept well-hidden beneath the lovely mask of hers. In the cafe is where she can potentially be dangerous, though not in the violent way, but that may come up in time...
However, another part of her personality is anchored by her adopted son. She very much enjoys what she does and loves a good thrill, especially if she were to get into a fight, but due to a recent slip-up which may have risked her life, she has tried to begin restraining herself in her job using both her head to hold her back and anther particular catalyst; that being her adopted son. She is now seeking less trouble and trying to enjoy herself either outside work or in work but with less risk. It is during those times when with her son or when on her own that she prefers this silence and solitude. This desire to have honest fun yet genuinely trying to abide by her own set of rules naturally come in conflict with each other at times, but she tries her best to make the most of it herself, for her son and enjoy what the city has made. She's perfectly stable and she still is able to revel in both the adrenaline and the mundane things in life, for now.

The Potential

Strengths:
—Strength Name: Super Spy —Description: Vivian has the act of stealth down to a science, and a simple one at that. She can blend in to any environment, hide in any space, reduce her noise to nothing, anything you can think of that makes her skilled in being unnoticed she knows. This also encompasses things such as disguises and other ways to blend into the current surroundings.
—Strength Name: Scholarly —Description: Her mind is sharper than most may expect; being able to come across various situations, technology and figuring out how it works. She'll also find it rather easy to practice and learn over time. (Intelligence increases at double the Rate)
—Strength Name: The Tracker —Description: She has an expert talent of following the trail of people that leave it. So long as the trail hasn't gone cold, she is in the same dungeon, or has an item pertaining to the person in question, she can keep track of them. (The trail goes cold after three days in real time after being left, or after receiving something that belongs to the person in question.)
—Strength Name: Ears of a Cat —Description: Her ears are perfectly sensitive and tuned to the smallest of noises, and using the keen auditory sense, can hear essentially anything around her.
—Strength Name: The Master of Trinkets —Description: Part of her forte in the business industry is messing with various items and making them into various other items with effects. With an item, she can spend time with it, and turn it into something else while making the effect expanded upon. The general effects and that can be given to them are the following:
- Types of Effects:
Field - The items when used can affect a certain field in a radius from which the item is used; as long as anyone is in the field, they are affected by it regardless of who they are. The benefits to this item is that it can be used immediately whenever it's needed. The downside is that it cannot be used as a surprise tactic and it has a post limit of five turns.
Grenade - It's exactly what it sounds like, it can create a burst or explosion. It can be thrown and has a chance to hit multiple targets, but they only have one use and the effectiveness also depends on the user's aim.
Trap - Items that when set can be set off when players get near them, like a landmine. They can be hidden and undetected by the average eye, however the downside is that when using the item, the user must have a post free of interruption while setting the trap. If they are attacked, forced to move from their area or otherwise impeded, they cannot set the trap. If someone tries to set a trap and fails they do not lose the trap, however if a trap is set and it never goes off in a thread, it is still lost.
Augment - Items when worked on will simply have a better effect. She can work to the point where they produce double the desired effect; an example being a Medicine being made to restore 100 HP instead of 50.
Combining - Literally combining items to get the effect of both. So getting a Snuff Soul combined with a Medicine so the result restores both 50 HP and SP.
The effect given depends on the item tampered with (Augment and Combining are self-explanatory):
Healing Items (Medicine, Healing Powder, Snuff Soul, etc.) - When used in a Field, the item will heal 10% of the item's intended effect as long as the person is in the field. (ex: A Medicine Field would heal 7 HP to everyone in it each turn, or a Snuff Soul healing 7 SP each turn. If an item that restores someone's stat fully, then it will heal 15% of their max stat of whatever it heals). For Grenades they can be made to heal or hurt, if caught in the range, you will be healed the full effect of the item or you will be sapped by 50% of the item's effect depending on how it's made. In Traps, you will be healed the full effect of the item, or if made to harm, will take away by 50% of the full effect.
Damage Items (Agilao Gem, Bufula Gem, Megido Gem, etc.) - In a Field, anyone in it will take damage equal to 50% of the stats of the user setting the Trap. If the person in it resists the element, they only take 25% of the damage, and if they block/reflect it, it's nulled completely. If used in a grenade, the ones caught in the radius will receive the full effect of the item equal to the stats of the user. In Traps, the ones afflicted will receive damage equal to the stats of the User.
Enhance Items (Magic Mirror, Fierce Sutra, Homunculus, etc.) - In a Field those in it will be unable to use the skills pertaining to the type of the Field, the skills In a grenade, the ones caught in the radius have those skills banned from them for three turns. (ex: If hit by a Magic Mirror Grenade, their magical skills will be sealed. If a Homunculus Grenade is used, the ones caught cannot use Light/Dark skills.) In a trap, the skill type pertaining to the item is banned by whoever is hit for three turns. NOTE: These items will not work on bosses as they ban skills and are akin to ailments. Certain items like these are strange, such as a Homunculus and a type of Attack item, however, when combining items such as a Homunculus and a type of healing or support item, that healing item will only activate when the item is used. For example, if using a Homunculus to protect oneself from a Light attack, it will also heal the user. However, if they use the item as a healing item, they will not get a protection from Light since they did not let itself be used automatically.
To actually make these items, a topic must be made where she without interruption makes her items. This requires a certain word count, which also judges how effective the item will turn out to be.

Fields: 5 meters - 200 Words 10 Meters - 350 Words 15 Meters - 500 Words 20 Meters - 650 Words
Grenades: 3 meters - 200 Words 6 meters - 350 Words 9 meters - 500 Words 12 meters - 650 Words
Traps: 5 meters - 200 Words 10 Meters - 350 Words 15 Meters - 500 Words 20 Meters - 650 Words
Augments: 50% Boosted Effect - 300 Words 100% Boosted Effect - 600 Words
Combining: 500 Words
Vivian can make multiple items at one time, however the caviat for that is that she can only make five at once, and they have to be given the same type of effect; meaning she cannot take two beads and turn one into a grenade and another into a field seal in the same post. She can make multiple of the same ones at different levels, but to attain the highest level possible, the word count for the highest level still must be met.
When Vivian makes these items, the item used is lost as an item and becomes the new item. The new item cannot be broken down to bring the original item back.

—Floating Strength Name: —Description:
Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)
—Weakness Name: Too Sick —Description: The pills she takes to overcome her Persona and keep it in check come with a rather drastic side effect. In combat that she fights in, unless she is in Overdose, she takes a 20% penalty to all damaging attacks that she uses, including dexterity. The pill draws upon the calcium in her bones in order to make it work, so out of combat this also makes her rather weak on the physical side. If she were to get into an arm wrestle, a fist fight or the like, she would lose immediately even if the other may not have any prior training in it.
—Weakness Name: Coward —Description: She definitely doesn't stick her head out too much when she can help it, and it takes quite the discipline to try and convince her to attempt anything semi-dangerous that she isn't convinced she can handle. (Courage increases at half the rate)
—Weakness Name: Flight or Flight? —Description: In her recent years, including but not necessarily limited to her mistake in her beginning years as a reconnaissance agent, she now attempts to avoid a fight at all costs unless it is absolutely necessary. She would rather flee, and given the chance in a battle, she will run for the hills because of her wish to survive.
—Weakness Name: Her Last Restraint —Description: Her one thing keeping her from succumbing to her constant temptation to take constant risk and take action merely for thrill’s sake is her son who she has taken full responsibility of. While part of her merely thinks of her as something that holds her back on purpose, causing harm or even threatening the child will not only cut her loose and give her no reason to act rationally, but the part of her that genuinely cares for him will bring her to her knees and accept any consequences if it means the safety of the young man. Ultimately, he is in a sense a prized possession if put so coldly and will put her on edge if someone even has knowledge of his existence. Her goal is to keep him safe, at all costs.
—Weakness Name: Unstable Alchemics —Description: While she has a great skill with altering items, they are unstable no matter how she makes it. Each time she tries to alter the items, she has a 20% chance to fail in making the item in the thread. If she makes items in bulk, she will lose all of them when making it.

The Background
|
History: Vivian's story tends to begin right around the tie she started to take up the spying business. At the time the city was erected to ward off the Demons, Vivian wanted her cut and began to become a spy and a thief by trade. The major problem with this scenario is that while she was an excellent spy, she was an awful thief and would leave some kind of trace when attempting something. At first she managed to flee the dangers of the law and those she took from, though it did not last long. At one point on a job she was tasked to steal an expensive gem from a mob-like organization that had recently gotten hold of it, but the mob themselves had caught wind of the clumsy spy and were prepared. Boldly making her way there, Vivian found herself ambushed before entering the targeted building and beaten down by the mob. She doesn't even remember herself how she made it out, but somehow, someway she was able to break free of the mob and escape with her life and body for the most part intact. It was an utter failure, and after that pathetic display, she took a break for some time and moved several times away from society.
During her long break, she struggled to get by and could not find a simple way to get a living. She thought at one point to give up, but she recently found inspiration. One day, she found a young boy around twelve years old and holding a blind cane named Derrick, or Morse by whatever the kids called him there. After an unknown conversation that they had, she adopted him immediately; part of the reason being the impulsive nature she thought she had given up. Another part was of what they talked about, and what she learned about him, the other part? Well, that she wasn't sure of, but it began to birth a new side of her that she would nurture to this day.
A year later, she had given up her thieving ways, but decided to return to the life in the city, and a life as a spy; the one thing she excelled at. She also got a job at the 'Maid in Heaven' Cafe to have a little extra fun, and began to slowly learn how to tinker with objects and the like for her own business ideas. During this year she has taken jobs to hone her skills as someone who deals in espionage, and has a small name of herself that she advertises in the underworld, which ends up giving her either a name, or criticism of those who remember her and her old ways. Regardless, she intends to grow in name with her future plans.
While this life of Vivian is well engraved in her mind and heart and something she is a little more forthcoming with, much of her life in that gap during her break, before the Eternal Divide, and her life up until her first days as a thief remain a mystery to those who know her, even her son. Were some to know what she was like before, one may wonder how she found her way into this position today, but those tales and truths are for another time...
