| Hm, Shun being dissapointed was...not that unexpected. And it wasn't that Sharaku didn't care about the younger's feelings, but his own were kind of a mess right now. Or, pretty much in general. Everything was so messy. Really. He honestly sometimes didn't know anymore. It was probably a bad thing...but, it was what it was. ''It could have been worse. Let's be happy with what we have.'', he would eventually speak up, when Shun commented on these not being the best circumistances and all. Even though he was sort of trying to lighten up the mood, he was pretty much saying the truth. In its own way. Even if he was not...really happy right now. He could pretend though. That one thing didn't really hurt.
''You're the one to talk...'', he would mutter simply, when Glasses chose to address him after Shun wandered off. He wasn't in the mood to truly talk back, even if he could think of a few sarcastic remarks towards that. It wasn't that he didn't aware of what Shun was after, or at least approximately what it was, but, he couldn't say he knew how to deal with it in a sensible way. The playful part was something he was good at, but when it came to the more serious things, he often blanked. While he generally understood, he had troubles keeping in line. It was either that he overdid it, or just didn't do enough. Glasses acted like it was all about getting it. He DID get it..but..well....
With a sigh, he would evetually get up to follow after Shun anyway. This or that, they were going to head the same way in the end. Since, he himself had nothing to pay for, he would just stand behind, if Shun was not done yet. ''You know, saying you have matters to attend sort of doesn't sound believable after inquiring about free time. You might want to work on your pretend act.'', he would comment, whenever the younger was done with paying business and all, sporting a small smile, at the very least. ''Well, let's go then.'', he would sort of change the subject almost immediately after, though not sounding nearly as upbeat as the sentence itself might have suggested. Today was just not it. Either way, he was going to go, whether Shun decided to go along or not. There was nothing else he could really do at this place....

| While at the reception counter, he gave a few, discreet stares to the guys in the table. They were apparently talking about something, though he couldn't identify what exactly was the subject. Well, it doesn't matter, really. Sigh. He better focus on the current problem in hands: his credit card being awfully rejected in every try.
— Any problem with my card? — He inquired to the receptionist, already rubbing the left side of his temples with a not very pleased look on his face. Oh damn, that's everything that should NOT happen after a stressful lunch, really. How's he supposed to explain this problem to his parents? Meanwhile, the student couldn't notice his school friend's sudden approach.
— ...what?! Hey, what did you...?! — Shunnosuke was sort of angry. He of course was aware of what Yuugi meant. He just didn't like how the subject was brought up so...straightforward. It's not like they were friends to talk about such touchy subject like that. Before the boy had the chance to say something, though, Yuugi had already made his way out of the restaurant. Now what was that...?
...aaaand the paying was done, after all. Contrary to his expectations, though, it wasn't some credit card trouble, but the poor receptionist lady inserted the card in the wrong position. No wonder it wouldn't work. While normally he would scold the apologetic lady for taking too much of his time, this occasion Shunnosuke just let another sigh slip out of his mouth, somewhat relieved. Thank God there was no problem at all to tell his parents about when he comes home. He nodded to the lady, saying his farewells, and...
— ... — Now, Sharaku was the one right behind him the whole time? It sort of evoked in him a scared reaction (it didn't last long, enough), but also left Shun a bit embarrassed. — ...I wasn't lying, mind you. — He replied in a lower than typical tone, trying his best to not let his embarrassment be too obvious, but well, judging by the soft reddening that would eventually cover his cheekbones, it'd be a fruitless endeavor. Oh well. He couldn't say he wasn't at least a bit happy for Sharaku's sudden change in mind. In all honesty, more than happy, judging by his blooming smile, although the teenager would try to not be too obvious about it.
As they left the restaurant and walked over the streets, Shunnosuke suddenly would turn his head away, trying to find something down the streets. Someone in the opposite direction. ...he had already vanished in sight. Man, that boy was serious about hiding from him, wasn't he? No problem, tho. Eventually, they'd meet again, just a matter of time. For now, his bashful "thank you" could wait until school, next monday... Exit. | |
