**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

Despite her long time living in the slums, Rianara knew for a fact that the area still held a bunch of secrets from her. The android, regardless of how much time she spent walking around the more populated parts of the Slums, she never really found anything out of place or something. Aside from you know, the abnormal crime rates, but that was a story for another day entirely. No, today, Rianara finally decided that she would dedicate some time towards at least solving some of the Slum's mysteries. Not necessarily anything regarding the Under, but the Back Alleyways were a maze of concrete and metal few dared venture into. Even by the Slum standards that was something to respect, considering the already unsafe living conditions of this ward anyway.

Navigating this maze wasn't going to be an easy task, but Rianara had time. LOTS of time on her hands. What else was she going to do with it anyway, yes? Just walk around the streets for decades if not centuries before her power core finally gave out on her? No, her time, while long, was better spent learning anything she could about what was to be her home for the foreseeable future... How come people were even dragged here to begin with? What purpose did Junction really serve? Or was it just a natural phenomenon that just couldn't be explained by it's raw nature alone? Was there any rules to the abductions? Or was it simply a randomized process? Like winning the lottery, or in many people's cases, picking the worst ticket from birth? Being separated from the world one called home was never easy for anyone. Even Rianara, the robot who had begun to despise her own homeland felt a sting of remorse when she had come to the realization that she may never return... As much as she didn't really want to, it would be nice knowing if she could indeed go back to Athara... And that search... the search for information, for truth, started here, in these forsaken alleyways of the lowest ward. Perhaps it was foolish of her to go this way, but really, the Android had nothing to lose. There was nothing that she cared about enough to fear losing. Not even the android's own life was of any value to her anymore, let alone to anyone else...

...

Great... a fork in the road... As if it wasn't hard enough to navigate this place already... "Enable GPS Recording." Ria whispered the commando to her onboard AI Assistant, Abby. "Tracking route..." The lovely child-like voice spoke inside her head, monitoring her every step, just so she wouldn't get lost. Now then... Right, left or forward...

The path to the right would lead Rianara to a large open chasm, one of the few in the Slums. The open air smelled stale almost... Almost as if the air hear had not moved in centuries, yet this place was so close to the populated sections of Lower Ward.

The area resembled the middle of a a group of apartment buildings, with the notable exception of the large spacecraft embedded into the side of one of the buildings. From where she stood, it was clear Rianara could make it to the building and perhaps a few of the lower and higher floors of this complex...

Where she went was up to her.

Hrm... That was certainly something she didn't expect to find here at all. Sure, Junction was known for bringing in all kinds of objects and people from across the multiverse, but a huge spaceship like this? Rianara had never heard of objects this big making in this pocket dimension. Of course, this made her curious. Judging by the oxygen and nitrogen content in the air around here, along with the specks of dust floating about, the android came to the relatively simple conclusion that this spaceship had been stuck here for a very, very long time. If she had to guess, centuries had gone by without any kind of activity here at all, which in itself was relatively strange, given how close this was to the more populated areas of the Slums. This could not possibly be a new find, could it? If it was something no one had ever seen before, then perhaps she had over-estimated just how many people ventured in here. Regardless, why stop here? The spaceship, despite its age seemed relatively stable structurally... Or at least, stable enough for an android like her to walk on without worrying about the whole thing collapsing underneath her very feet. One very positive detail she noticed right off the bat was that from where Ria was standing, it was possible to get on board the ship, even if it was with slight difficulty, she wouldn't have much trouble making it over there. Carefully, Ria made her way inside the building where the Spaceship had wedged itself inside, making sure to scan the floor for brittle ground that was to be avoided. With some difficulty, she managed to get to the spaceship's outer hull. Now... to find a way inside. Was there a door or a hole she could crawl through somewhere? Judging by how old the ship was, Rianara doubted any of the electronics still functioned on board, so even if there was a door, it probably wouldn't open for anyone, let alone a foreign android like herself. So finding a breach in the spaceship's hull was her best option. Thankfully, finding said breach wasn't too difficult.

A Place of Dead Ends... Or so they say. ACiwo8b

She snuck around carefully, despite her earlier assessment that none of the electronics worked on this derelict ship anymore, it never hurt to be cautious. For all she knew, the power source was still active, as Rianara wasn't sure if Aether was native to only her world, or if it existed elsewhere... what if this place wasn't even ran by electricity either? It could be ran by some other energy source not known to her, as each multiverse had it's own rules, laws and fundamental forces. But she could only prepare for what she had experience with, and that was Aether and electricity, the former generating the latter on her homeworld, and an aethercore could last for hundreds of years. She focused some energy on her eyes, making them function as a flashlight for her to see inside this dark ship, carefully exploring it's interior, unless something inside realized there was an unwelcome, uninvited guest on board...

A small hull breach on the pathway would be an obvious entry point. Upon shining her light down the path, Rianara would be greeted with another light shining back at her. Her mere presence in the corridor seemed to awaken something in the ship, as the corridor she had found lit up as if it wasn't stuck in a wall. The corridor into the ship lead to a door at the far end.

However, an actual door to the interior would be positioned a little ways down the path on the wall.

The dark and gloomy interior was pretty run down and most of it seemed to have been out of order for a long time. The walls and parts of the floor were brown with patches of fragile rust. It was a miracle that this ship hadn't collapsed from the lack of maintenence. Rust and damage aside, the interior looked pretty advanced, even by Atharan standards. While it certainly wasn't as esoteric in it's design as the artificer's creations back home, there was no denying the incredible craftsmanship that had gone into building this vessel. Rianara was by no means a master engineer herself, but still, the android found herself fascinated by the technology on display here. Of course, she assumed that none of it was actually functional, but it was still interesting nontheless.

But oh, how her assumptions were wrong about being alone on the ship. Shortly after she had gone inside and began investigating, Rianara stared into the darkness.... and a light flashed into hers, as if she was looking into a mirror with a flashlight on. But it wasn't a mirror. Someone else was there. "Hm? Hey, you there..." Rianara said in a curious tone, trying to keep any hostility away from her voice. She was both suspicious and curious all at once. Just as those words left the androids voicebox, the entire hallway lit up, causing her to flinch from the sudden change of brightness. It didn't take long for her eyes to re-adjust... Not sure what to make of this, Rianara moved forward cautiously. Was this something she needed to be afraid of? Maybe, if there was anything keeping her attached to life, but there was nothing and no-one that was worth living for in the Android's life anyway, so with little to no hesitation, Rianara walked towards the light-source that had looked at her earlier. She found a door, being at the end of the hallway. Had it gone in here... or perhaps was it the other door she should be going into? Would she be able to retrace her steps afterwards? Or would the door lock behind her, in a trap-like fashion? Maybe this was how the ship defended itself... tricking people into some room, locking them inside and just wait for them to die.

What was odd, however, was that the ship still reacted to her. What was the sensors set to? It couldn't be body heat, as Rianara's powercore was hidden behind the heat-isolating ceramo-metallic plating, so nothing of the sort would radiate from her at all. Maybe it was just soley based on movement? That seemed to be the most logical conclusion. Either way, Rianara fearlessly opened the door at the end of the hallway, eager to see whatever this ship had to hide...

"..."

The door opened with a loud swish as Rianara approached it, seeming to only do so when she decided she wished to open it... Beyond the door, about ten feet from where she was stood a lone figure, peering out from the pitch blackness of the room.

It said nothing as it locked eyes with Rianara. For a brief second...

Then the creatures scuttled into deeper into the room, and deeper into the darkness, away from Rianara's sight.

Rianara was suprised to see that the door opened up before she had even reached out her arm, almost as if it knew the android wanted to pass through. It only added to the creepy atmosphere of the derelict ship. This new room was quite a bit darker than the hallway... And it didn't seem to want to light up, either. Good thing she could still see somewhat with her flashlight eyes. About ten feet or so from where she stood, a rather thin figure stood and observed her. It looked quite... strange. Rianara could tell it wasn't a living creature, but rather a robot of some form based on it's body and well... how it carried itself. The two robots locked eye-contact for a few moments. Ria stood there, paralyzed, afraid to make a single movement. She didn't want to scare the thing away.

Not that it would've mattered anyhow, as after a brief moment of pause, the odd creature scuttled further into the dark depths of the ship. The thing was fast, she had to admit. And unfortunately, Rianara lost sight of it. Still, she had found something here. And she wasn't willing to give up just yet. Not while there was still a whole ship left to explore. Before she moved on to follow wherever her newfound ”friend” had gone, Rianara decided to take a look around this room first, to get an idea of what kind of civilization built this hulking spaceship to begin with. Abby probably couldn't really do much to help here, however, as this technology was very alien, even to them.

Once Rianara had investigated the room and it's contents enough to satiate her own curiousity, it was time to move on. It hadn't taken too long, but the creature was probably on the other side of the ship by now. If it wanted to see Rianara again, she wouldn't mind... And she would take her own sweet time exploring this place. There was so much to learn, so much waiting for her here. She continued on her trek through the ship, following the way she had seen her new friend go. Might as well, right? She peered into the darkness, carefully whispering. "Hello? Are you there? I wish no harm... All I seek is knowledge."

Rianara's voice would echo though the empty room, bouncing off the darkened walls and fallen steel plates. The only response she would receive is a distant scuttling, often overlapping itself.

The room Rianara would find herself in was what appeared to be a barkers/crew's quarters, with several locked doors leading into what could only be privet quarters. The room itself had 3 doors similar to the one Rianara came in through. If she continued to search this room, however, she may uncover something.

Rianara wasn't exactly suprised that she had been left without answer. "Figures..." The android shook her head before focusing her attention on her surroundings. The room she found herself in seemed to be the crew's quarters on the ship. The walls were lined with several doors, presumably leading to more private areas for the crewmates. There were also 3 other, more robust doors, like the one she just walked through, leading someplace else. Perhaps it was best to investigate every nook and cranny of this room before heading forward. While her little friend was something she was interested in finding again, this room spoke to her a bit more. Maybe there was some kind of journal, or some kind of hard-drive that would give her more information about this ship's crew, history and so forth... maybe even a black box, if she was lucky. Hopefully, her systems was functional with this stuff, even though she doubted it. But she wasn't dumb either. Maybe, given enough time, she would be able to learn their programming language, and translate it over to function with her data-banks. But that was a future endeavour. She needed to first find the information here.

And so, she began her search. Looking around the room for any clues or hints of what might have transpired on here. The place was obviously in poor shape, but given it's age and current condition outside, that was hardly a suprise. She would move some of the fallen steel plates in hopes of finding anything of value underneath them. Whatever she found here would be stored within her leather backpack, unless it was big enough that she had to carry it out by hand. The ship itself was too dark for her to give her new finds a proper examination. After she had looked under all the plates, she wandered over to the locked doors, examining them as well for any breaches or potential information she could use... like Name-plates or something. While the names of this ship's crewmembers wasn't really all that useful, it was interesting to see the names of whoever had been on this vessel before she arrived. Regardless if she didn't, Rianara gave the lost crewmates a silent, internal salute for their bravery, going into outer space. If there was anything else of interest here, she'd of course turn her attention to it.

In her search, Rianara would initially find little but a few destroyed data packs and scraps of forms to faded and brittle to read, however the longer she searched the more she would find.

The most prevalent thing in the room would be fully intact sets of clothes. Apart from a bit of fading and age, the uniforms would appear completely intact, fully buttoned, and strewn about the room in complete sets. The uniforms themselves were clearly military in origen each with the same emblem displayed over the left breast.

Among the clothes. She would also find a small leather bound journal.

Behind the fallen wreckage, she would find an open air vent, her light reaching a sharp bend before dieing.

"Hm?" Out of all the things she expected to find in here, intact clothes was not one of them. Sure, they weren't in prime condition by any means, mostly due to age, but no significant ripping or tearing was to be found on any of them. Rianara studied these clothes for any more vital information, before neatly folding a set of them, and stuffed them into her bag. So this wasn't just some random vessel either. Judging by the clothes, it could be assumed that she was on board a military spaceship. Now, she at least had a better understanding of what could potentially be waiting for her further inside. Maybe some old weapons could be found here as well, if she looked hard enough. Might be a good find, not just for the sake of information, but protection as well. There was no real telling what her friend on board thought of her... did it consider her hostile? Perhaps, but it clearly wasn't intent on fighting. If so, she wouldn't have been left alone again...

Just as she was about to move on, she noticed something amongst the clothes. A small, leather-bound book. "Oh, what have we here?" She whispered to herself, quite happy with the find. Unlike everything else of this nature she had found thus far, this journal seemed to be in pretty good condition. Perhaps it was even readable? She picked it up, and skimmed through the pages. Yes, it certainly seemed to be something of great informational value. Much better than anything she could've hoped to find! But... She couldn't really sit down and give it a proper study here. That was something she had more time for once she considered herself done with exploring the ship, so she carefully stuffed the journal inside her bag, and closed it firmly.

And again, she found another way to go. Under all the fallen wreckage, Rianara discovered an open air-vent, reaching somewhere deeper into the ship itself. Alas, it was truly impossible for her to tell where this would lead her, much like any of the other paths she had taken... Was this worth pursuing... or should she perhaps take another door?

A Journal Has Been Found.

A Place of Dead Ends... Or so they say. Bd3ebf5981da92c893604e8d44ac68c4e1c15d71_hq

The interior of the ventilation shaft, much like the rest of the ship thus far, was free of dust and debris. However, a slight breeze could be felt as Rianara crawled through it.

The shaft would have many turns and bends, far to numerous to name, the sound of scuttling and... a distant clicking... could easily be heard.

The first fork in the path... Left, or right.

After a few moments spent considering her options, Rianara came to the conclusion that perhaps this vent was her best option. Luckily for her, she seemed to fit inside quite nicely. Sure, it was a little cramped, but she could probably still crawl forward and backwards quite easily. Before she made her way inside, Rianara made sure to clear the vent of any and all rubble, just so that in case she wanted to come back, none of the debris would cover her way back, should something unexpected occur. Once she was done with moving them, Rianara could finally move on with her exploration.

Thankfully, Ria's eyes lit up the way forward quite nicely, which made this ordeal much easier on her. Oddly enough, this shaft was rather dust-free, and seemed to be in pretty good condition. Ria's sensors even detected a light breeze going through the shaft, as if it was still operational, if barely. Maybe it was just connected to the outside? Or was the system actually on? The system itself seemed to be rather complex, with lots of twists and turns. During her time crawling through these vents, the android began to give her new discoveries some thought. The uniforms, for instance... If this was indeed a vessel for war... were they in conflict with another race? From what little she had read of the Journal, she didn't really get that vibe. Then again, most it's early parts seemed to be some kind of diary, maybe even a message log between one of the ship's crewmates, and someone he cared about. Nothing about a war had been mentioned... then again, maybe this was just a man out in practice or something? She had honestly no real clue, at least not yet. Maybe things would get clearer once she actually sat down to read that journal, unless this ship could provide her with more clues to make the answer clearer.

Ack, again, she found herself at a crossroads... Left... Or Right?

The shaft to the right would travel a good distance before reaching a long string of grates, each in the bottom of the shaft. Looking down these grates would show a darkened Kitchen, slight scuttling audible from within. However, the path would continue past this..

Without much thought, Rianara decided to take the right path first, even though she probably wouldn't be able to trace her way back anytime soon. But that wasn't something she was overly worried about. She had plenty of time to explore this ship, so getting a bit lost wouldn't be too bad for her. Unlike creatures of flesh, she didn't need any food or social contact to stay healthy and sane, unlike the now dead crew of this ship. Even now, she had no idea what these aliens remotely looked like... the only thing she had for reference was the uniforms, one of which she carried with her inside the bag. Anything of informational value was important to grab, even if it seemed insignificant. With enough clues, she could perhaps even figure out where this vessel even came from, and, perhaps more importantly... what happened to the crew. For all Rianara knew, they could've died before this ship ever got here, even though a part of her doubted that was truly the case. The ship was obviously built to last, considering it's condition after all these centuries of being left alone, with no maintenence done to it.

Hrm... Another split in her path. She could either go forward, and crawl through these vents some more, or she could bust through the grating below her, and enter what seemed to be the ship's cooking area... And judging by the faint scuttling coming from within, Rianara guessed that her little friend was in there. Perhaps it was worth taking a look? In her mind, she didn't really have much of an option here. She wanted to know more about the only bit of company she had on this ship, be it hostile or not. Rianara's claws wedged themselves through the grating as she used her mechanical might to pry it off. With a loud *CLANK*, the grating gave way, and Rianara landed shortly after on the floor. Not the stealthiest way to enter a room, but it was better than nothing.
