Flower Cup [Safi]

With a huff, the plant like creature known as Ranunculus would walk busily between multiple different plants within her garden. It was always such a hassle when she needed to get her goods to town. After all, she lived rather far away from the nearest station and she lived deep within a forest to boot. Honestly, if not for how public her garden was it'd be hard to find it.

Never the less, she'd carefully use a pair of sheers to snip a few flowers from their stalk, placing them carefully on a tarp she had near by before going about and removing some of the plants from the ground entirely. She needed a good display of her wares before she even left. Flower heads always enticed people to buy bouquets or the whole plant plus it wasn't bad advertisement for her garden either.

The forest biodome was no doubt a cool place to live at, and Cryox sure enjoyed hanging out in the greenery whenever he wasn't out in the other wards poking his nose into things and possibly cause some trouble whether intended or unintended. There was always something new to explore within a natural area like this, and today would be no exception. Actually, the two-tailed feline had heard of the local garden before, but kept forgetting to go and take a peek in there. There was almost always something else that happened to take precedence in the interesting factor, and thus derailed him from making a visit. This time however, he even found himself near it on his daily prowl through the place, and so he decided to go check out the supposedly cool flowers. Nothing wrong with some colorful sights, right?

What he didn't expect was to see an unusual plant-like creature appear in his periphery. Huh, was someone else visiting here or was this the person maintaining the garden? He was not quite sure as this was a thing he hadn't investigated thoroughly before. Besides, one can't be familiar with every last resident of Junction seeing how big the world is. Cryox would halt walking in thought as he sat down for a bit, a couple meters behind the creature, tilting his head at it as he let out a light meow sound, seemingly taking a moment to consider what to do about this encounter.

The plant like creature would hum as she worked, a strange ditty that only served to be even stranger with the fact her plant like mouth was making noises impossible for other beings to do so. She was a rarity on Junction by far, very few plant like creatures called this place home. Most shriveled up lost in the Slums or were exposed to an atmosphere they couldn't handle. Ranunculus was lucky that she didn't instantly die when she found herself here.

With a small tilt to her head, she'd turn around at the meow, her wide eyes squinting at the cat. She didn't really understand what the heck it was... But it reminded her of that darn beast and all he ever did was cause problems! So, she'd point the sheers at the cat with an angry look on her face, the flower on her head shaking as she did so.

"Ranunculus throw yee outta here if yee make a mess! Ranunculus work hard on garden. Ranunculus no want big mess that needs cleaning the ups!" she'd say with an angry tone to her voice. Her voice was high pitched, surprisingly enough, not something one would expect to come from a plant. Despite this, it didn't stop her from being ready to attack the cat should he try anything funny! She'd tangle him up yes she would!

Whoaaaa, this one was sure getting into gear pretty quickly. Cryox would blink at the plant creature in surprise a few times as his tails waved from side to side. For now, he wouldn't make a move to shift from his sitting position, but he was certainly ready to jump in case he got attacked for real. Can't really trust anyone to keep their paws...er, hands away. Tilting his head after he absorbed the initial shock, the feline would consider the words that have been spoken. Soo, this living flower here was the garden owner then? Cool. Thoooough, why was he being cursed at when he hadn't even done anything yet? How strange. People usually didn't start yelling until after the deed was already done.

''Neee, I haven't done anything yet. Why do you think I'd want to make a mess?'', he would question with his child-like voice. He did like playing about, yes, but he usually didn't do too much in the forest itself as he himself lived there. He did want to know why was this one assuming so fast and having a hissy fit though. It was...interesting, but it'd be a sad day to get attacked for having done nothing wrong. Very backwards.

Eh? It could speak? Oh, then it must be a visitor to the garden! The plant like being's composure would shift from menace to quite happy as she'd smile at the beast. As long as he didn't make a mess of this place, it was perfectly fine with her. She'd place the sheers down before... what was supposed to be coughing escaped her mouth. It sounded more like twigs snapping, though.

"Ranunculus sorry. Ranunculus mistook yee for beast! Beasts make big mess of Ranunculus's garden. Big hassle having to clean the ups the everythings!" she'd say with a knowing nod of her head, returning to taking care of business. She didn't mind if the cat stayed for a while but she wasn't about to forsake her work for some social interaction. After all, plants were more important than flesh... Minus a few exceptions.

"Enjoy garden! Very nice, yes yes. Rare plants everywhere! You like, yes?" she'd say as she continued with her work, a happy smile crossing her face. She enjoyed complementing her garden because it made it happy! And if her garden was happy, so was she!

''Beasts? Like, big animals?'' Cryox would ponder aloud as he moved to walk around the place a bit. Might as well since he was already here, although he didn't know a whole lot about plants. Outside of the fact that they tended to be colorful and all that. Though, wasn't the entire forest just one big garden in a way? Trees, grass, bushes...those were all plants too, yes?

The feline would tilt his head at the display curiously. ''Neh, what are they used for?'' Was it just for some sort of decoration, or did these plants have some great uses since they were presumably rare? It would make sense for a rare plant to have something going for it. Rare things were usually known as such for some sort of reason after all.

She'd shake her head, a quick motion of her sheers cutting a few more flowers. She'd place them on the tarp with gentle care before looking at the cat. "No no, Ranunculus fend off big beasts. Beast be small and ugly! Fast! Too fast for Ranunculus! Ranunculus can't catch with vines or traps! Too slippery beast is." she'd say with a huff, the mere thought of the beast made her mad enough to kill something! So she snipped another flower. That wasn't nearly as satisfying as it should have been...

"Ranunculus garden have plants for different things. Some smell nice, some for medicine, some for decoration, some for poison, some for fruits, some for eating... But Ranunculus garden is only looked at, no taking unless you order something. Garden be alive, needs special care." she'd say with a nod of her head, very gently wrapping the tarp into a bag shape. She was gentle as to not break or damage any of the flowers. It would be a pain to grow more of them in such a short time...

The two-tailed feline would tilt his head. ''That sounds like some annoying pests.'' Small, huh? So like, mouses and rats or something? Or maybe some smaller cats since the creature seemed to have thought he was one of the 'beasts' initially. Hmm, he didn't meet a lot of those here, but then again he couldn't be in every place in the forest at once even though he lived in the area.

Well, that was a lot of types of plants for sure. Why did people need poison though? Cryox would blink at some of the plants, not really being able to recognize them anyway. ''Fruits sound fun! What kinda fruits do you grow?'' He wasn't sure he'd want to eat an actual plant, but fruits were always nice. Were they different ones than those that grew in the forest by themselves?

"No no, not pests. Beast be one pest! Annoying thing! Needs death badly." she'd say with a nod of her head, carrying the bag down one of the roads with little care. She knew exactly where she needed to put the flowers and that was in the surprisingly normal wooden cabin that was in the center of the exotic garden. She'd walk forward not really expecting the cat to follow.

"Depends on fruit. Ranunculus grow some plants that grow fruit... Ranunculus no know name of fruit. Some big red, some little green, others weird shape! One fruit have three colors, taste like bee Ranunculus is told. Also grow meat plants, taste like good meat. Much better than animal! Except beast! Beast be cooked in stew straight away!" she'd proclamation to the cat as if it were a decree from a queen. Her hate for that supposed beast was almost as great as her passion for her garden. Quite the strange couple of priorities she had.

''One? So..someone keeps coming back to raid this place frequently?'' Strange. What kind of creature would get pleasure from repeatedly trampling a garden? He could maybe understand trying to steal some fruit here and there, but messing up plants randomly for no real reason sounded like it'd get boring pretty quick. And getting chased by the owner afterwards would probably not be a whole lot of fun either.

Neh? Not knowing what to really do with the plants he wasn't supposed to manipulate anyway, Cryox would opt to pad after the plant creature curiously, deciding that watching it working was a bit more interesting for now. ''Meat fruit? That seems cool. Do you try some of your own products too, or is it all just for sale?'' Like, you know, test the taste before offering to potential customers? Or just use some of it as your own food after putting in all that effort into growing it.

"Yes yes! Terrible beast. Ranunculus calls police lots and lots! Still no come and throw beast away!" she'd say with an annoyed mutter, she'd roll her eyes if her eyes could actually do that... But a sigh of discontent was all that she could provide. She'd much enjoy boiling the beast in a stew! Yup yup! Serve up at festival! Make good stew!

"No no, Ranunculus no eat. Ranunculus plant, food is light and water. No stomach for food. Mouth only used for speaking." she'd say with a small nod of her head, reaching her home finally, she'd place the tarp of plants in a wagon that had none other than a giant furry yak. It was intimidating to say the least. Regardless, the wagon was filled with other tarps and it smelt amazing to be near. It was clear she had collected quite the large number of plants.

"You fan of flowers? Ranunculus work hard on garden. You like so far, yes?" she'd say as she turned to look at the cat. What a strange creature he was... Two tails! Hah!

The feline would flick his tails lightly. ''Neh, maybe there's something that could scare it away?'' Hmm, it was strange that the police wouldn't even attempt to come see what was up though. Cryox could understand if they did come and couldn't really catch the culprit in the act, thus not having a proof for any sort of arrest or such, but repeated vandalism being completely unchecked? How odd. Maybe they didn't really like plants....?

Nevertheless, the strange cat would pad along, occasionally turning his head around to look at the parts of the garden he could see while on the move. He would blink. ''Must be nice to not need to eat. You basically can't starve as long as there's sun around....'' That was pretty cool, in a way. Food usually tasted good though, so it'd be a tough decision to make. That said, he would sit down, tilting his head at the transport 'vehicle'. So much fur. Hehe. ''Flowers are nice. I can't really do much with them though.'' Well, he did live in the forest, so it wasn't like he would be decorating an apartment with them or such...and since he only had paws to work with, he generally couldn't manipulate them well either.

"Ranunculus try many things! Scary crows, giant monster pet, stinky stink flowers! Nothing! Beast is persistent and need be turned into stew!" she'd say with a grumble, crossing her arms as she squinted back at the flowers. Did she need anymore? Eh, probably not... It would be fine as long as no rich people bought all her stock!

"Ranunculus can dry out, though. Too much son bad, too much water bad. Not as good as think. Need ideal conditions just like garden needs! Makes hard life. Ranunculus has pot at shop. Keeps Ranunculus healthy and not too dry or too wet." she'd say with a nod of her head, the flower which could be considered her hair bobbing with it. She'd tilt her head gently though, shaking her head afterwards.

"Nonsense! Cat be misinformed. Garden good for more than just flowers. Also, flowers be very useful you know! Make fruit, seeds, and meat! Good meat, yes yes! Ranunculus give you seed? You plant and make good flower, yes? Make you quite happy with seeds or fruits or meats!" she'd say with an energetic(?) smile. Or, what could be assumed was a smile... Her face didn't really allow much emotions other than angry, it seemed.

''Neeeh, what's it look like?'' It sure sounded like a rather curious being, and it made Cryox wonder whether he'd seen it before. He did live in the forest after all, so there was at least a slight chance, right? At least, he assumed this 'beast' lived there too, if it bothered to come raid a garden often enough to be considered such a problem. A lot of strange beings found the forest to be their home after all, so nothing was impossible.

Hmmm. The feline would tilt his head, trying to imagine what it'd be like to have to always look out for the weather and all that mojo jojo. Okay, maybe it wasn't really the best way to live. You can always make an effort to search for some food, but you can't exactly tell the weather to do what you want it to at any time. That kinda sucks. ''Does that mean you can't really wander far away from here?'' Must be a rather boring life to be more or less stuck to one place. Guess you can have hobbies like gardening, but living an entire life like that still seems a little much.

''Nyah, I meant that I can't do much with them without having hands. Makes dealing with flowers harder, you know?'', Cryox huff, fluffing his fur slightly at the accusations. He understood they had purposes, but it wasn't easy for someone like him to reap too many of their benefits. ''I could try though. You give out seeds for free?'' It could maybe be a fun past time to try and grow a plant? Somehow.

"Beast ugly! Scruffy fur, orange fur, has bird skull! Disgusting, wearing flesh like that! Beast have boomerang! Beast uses it to hurt garden! Terrible beast, needs made into stew now." she'd grumble as she described the worst thing to ever grace the face of Junction period. She didn't even care if a plague of plant killing bugs came into her garden right now! Wouldn't be nearly as bad as that beast!

"Ranunculus go places. Ranunculus has shop at big shiny store! Ranunculus just brings pot with Ranunculus when going places. Help keep healthy and safe! Has special soil in it, make good travel vehicle with fuzzy beasty here." she'd say happily, at least talking about plant related things put her in a good mood. But, heck no! Beast be bad! Pure evil! Needs purging! Call sun people! Yup!

"You have mouth, no? You have paws too! Perfect for digging! Ranunculus give you seed, you dig hole and plant. You see, plant be good plant. Give you good meat or good seed or good fruit! Yes yes, come come. Ranunculus give you seed." she'd say with a wave of her hand, motioning for the cat to follow her to the cart. She'd pull out a rather weird looking seed from the cart, holding it out to the cat, it would be easy enough to carry in his mouth but before he could even decide on doing so, the plant would take out a small piece of cloth and tie the seed in it. "Easier to carry, yes?"
