First Day [Frog]

He was never a morning person no matter how many times his family pushed him awake for the blooming day. Joseph held down a yawn by the time his feet hit the ground before the school's entrance. It was big and very state of the art. At least he hoped it was after hearing it was a new school that just opened. Getting a working schedule was easy enough, but finding his way around the entire campus was a whole another thing. But since there wasn't an information booth or anything similar handy right now there was only one thing he could try.

"Hey (loser), do you know where the classrooms are?" Joseph tapped on a nearby shoulder of someone passing by. Little did he know it belonged to a Psyche-Terrorist...

Frog was just casually minding his business fiddling the painfully slow time away by playing around, sliding his units across the screen on his smartphone like he did so many times before in the same pattern. It was bound to get old after a while, but he still hoped it would be a while. He always had trouble finding other new things to entertain himself with once his love for one faded. It wasn't until he felt a tap on his shoulder and the irritating voice of someone asking him a blatantly idiotic question that he had to turn, covering his phone with a hand while he turned it off, an annoyed pout on his face.

He didn't know this guy, but even if he had they probably wouldn't have been friends. Numero uno was that he was younger than him. He never mashed well with age differences, no matter how quaint. On the other hand he really didn't like the look on his face. "Well the classrooms are all around you. If ya ain't a bit more specific, I'm afraid I won't be able to help ya." He answered as he held his nose up high and placed his hands onto his hips like some smug queen bee.

That arrogant look this guy was giving him was tempting Joseph to smash his fist into him. That would be a massive problem for not only his first day at school, but his later attempt to enter the Cadet ranks. He kept his cool, like he always had to do. The time spent dealing with his own family and the mindless masses around him taught him that lashing out or acting unusual subsequently meant troublesome things followed. "(Fucking asshole) Which part of the building would have science courses? You ever heard of Professor Schmidt?"

Frog smirked in his mind. He could sense the battle being waged in the other's head and he enjoyed the supremacy he already held over this unknown guy. On the outside, though, he dropped his nose down a bit and tilted his head to the side curiously, placing a finger to his lower lip. "You know, I never was good at remembering names. Especially not people like professors." He said, giving a slight shrug. "So even if I knew him I probably can't remember. But I can try and lead you to the science classrooms. Tell me though, what semester/grade/year are you even in?" Frog asked the beckoning question. With even how he wasn't able to help much with anything, he could help even less if he didn't know the most basic things about the other party.

Was this asshole toying with him? Joseph felt like this was the case. He wanted to pull himself off from this loser and move on to the next for the information he wanted. Though at least he knew where they were. It didn't hurt to at least try to get something more out of this interaction. Even then, if nothing useful ever came out of this conversation the longer they talked, he was going to make his presence scarce after being led to the classrooms. "I'm a third year. What's your name? (Fuckhead) I'm Joseph."

As much as Joseph didn't want to even associate with him, he had to act "nice". He wasn't a barbarian no matter how much he wanted to drop all these pretenses.

Ah, so a third year. Probably a transfer at that, since he was unaware of the Academy's layout. Frog was actually expecting someone younger as the edge he was sensing only provoked his train of thoughts in the immature direction.

"My name's Frogerio but everyone calls me Frog." He answered and crossed his hands, leaning his hip a bit to the side. "Nice to meet you, I guess. I'm a senior myself here." The issue remained, though. He needed to take the other guy to the classrooms. "Anyways, yeah I think I have enough to help you out now. Just follow me, okay?" Frog would proceed to lead Joseph down the halls and towards the presumed location of the science labs. Thank goodness Joseph asked for such a specific subject matter. If it was something that didn't have its own specialized classrooms, he'd have been toast. A droplet of sweat emerged on the side of his forehead, rolling down his cheek as he contemplated this.

What kind of crack has his parents been taking to call their dumb son a frog? In fact, how is this loser still at school when there could be potential assholes looking to dump the nearest milque toast kid's head into the toilet? Whatever, not his problem. He shrugged and did as Froger said. Joseph didn't even say anything. But, he had to bring himself to continue the conversation on something, "Say, was there any announcement regarding Cadets in this school?"

Frog led Joseph up a flight of stairs and into a new hallway. He wasn't keen on any conversation with the other boy, since he hardly knew him so he also hardly gave a damn. The Frog also preferred silent strolls when he could entertain himself with his thoughts. Words always interrupted them.

A shudder ran down his spine as he controlled himself at the mention of the Cadets.
With every passing mention of them, it grew easier to control the flinch. He turned his head slightly towards Joseph as they walked. "Sorry but I wouldn't really know. I hardly pay any attention to announcements that aren't my concern, and Cadets aren't my concern. What do ya have with 'em? Joinin'? Or already joined?" His eyebrow raised inquisitively, carrying with its movement a sort of uncanny passion. Frog licked the back of his teeth in his mouth, unnoticably by Joseph. Wouldn't be the first Cadet he'd met.

Joseph didn't seem to understand why Frog was so uncomfortable with the subject. But internally, he was relishing that subject. It didn't hurt to smudge it in a little bit to enjoy him squirming a little bit more. While he loved to do this, the Cadet wannabe was curious why mentioning them elicited this reaction. "Not yet. Been thinking about it. They're pretty cool. Aren't they like superheroes? Everyone's raving praises for them. What about you?"

These past couple days...Frog has been getting this weird feeling like everyone around him could just peer into his mind at will. Like he was but words on paper-a book for everyone to read. The fact this guy picked up on his discomfort over the subject at hand so quickly and easily was not a thought he liked, and the fact he also had to bring it up to him in such a manner only made it all like ten times worse. Frog grimaced to himself so that Joseph wouldn't see.

"Well good luck joinin' em. From what I know it's supposed to be pretty hard or something." And als requires BEING BRAINWASHED. "And nah I've never been one to put my trust into others' hands so freely. Sure, I'm thankful for them for keeping us all safe from terrorists or whatever, but it's not really my concern so long as there's food on my table and there's a table in my house and there's a house that's mine." Frog shrugged. Through the whole latter part of the conversation he was avoiding looking at Joseph and only focused forwards. Could this be a sign or not?

Good, I could always use the challenge." A hint of smugness was there in his words. But Joseph had reason to feel very worried. A Cadet was evidently different from a police officer, firefighter, or any physically active public servant. It was an odd answer to be hearing from someone living under the Queen's protection. But, this guy was a weirdo. So who cares? The only thing Joseph did give a single damn was his first class. He didn't want to be late. "How much longer until we reach the classrooms?"

Ah, so this one was a masochist. Good for him. Hopefully it would get him somewhere in life. Probably will, because everyone could get their way except for Frog, or so Frog thought of the world that surrounded him so tenderly yet also so cruely in its regular ignorance through purposeful blindness.
He glanced back at Joseph to grin momentarily. "Sure, hope ya'll have fun if challenge is what ya seek. Going through everyday life is enough of a chore if you ask me." Frog chuckled and nonschalantly threw his hands behind his head, continuing to march like that.

After a couple seconds though, Joseph asked the question and Frog quickly halted his step. "U-uhm........I think we might've taken a wrong turn." He said, making a grimace of a man who'd just realized his mistake. He turned his face to Joseph with an apologetic glint in his eye. The bell was about to ring and the guy was prolly gonna be late...

"...Whatever, I'll go find it. I'll see you later, Frog. (Asshole) " The look of disdain was undeniable on Joseph's expression. But he had no time for it. Class was beginning to convene in a few minutes. With his training, it would be a cinch normally. But he had completely no idea of the lay of the land. What an useless asshole.
