So of course Frog arranged to meet with Selenus since he was already at the Backlight anyways and it seemed to be their non-verbally designated meeting spot so far. He searched through the alleys one by one looking for the shady and ninjastic robot dog. He had to tell him about what'd happened last night, as Sele didn't seem to have come, as promised. Additionally, since it was Backlight, he was sorta semi hoping he'd come to meet someone else he knew, no matter what he'd claimed to Esra and everyone else about being annoyed with all the new friends. Of note was Gabe who'd sold him the manga and taught him how to eat the mango. Not only was he secretly grateful to the tall fella' but he was also dying to tell the guy about what he'd read so far.

And so he walked on, waiting for either of the two to show up. However, if Gabe showed up first then he could scratch the meeting with Selenus, as he thought Sele would wish to remain hidden from muggles' sight.

There was no real point in Gabe visiting the store anymore, but that was only because it was currently under new management. Even tough he didn't have the rights to the manga, he felt like it still could be a store that had some kind of shares with barnes & nobles. It still had the option of making money and still providing good literacy material for people to read, but only if Gabe wasn't in the picture. It hurt, but he didn't want it to show. "Sigh..maybe I'll head back..."

Coming back from taking a look at the shop from afar. Though noticing the time it would take to head back, Gabe decided to cut through a few alleyways.

In the midst of his travels, he saw a familiar figure. "Gerio?"

Well, last night certainly was a thing that happened

Selenus didn’t have to work at the Hole In The Wall until night-time, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t spend some alone time wandering the Backlight anyway. There was a bizarrely home-y feel to the district, for some reason, and though Selenus was unable to pin down exactly why, he had some general ideas. He guessed it reminded him of the run-down Ortygia halls where he spent most of his early lifetime. There wasn’t much to be missed about those days, but what little there was to be missed the robotic canine would hold dear to him for the rest of his life.

As he walked around the near-empty annals of the commercially-inclined district, Selenus spotted sight of a familiar face (or rather, a familiar coat and back of the head) walking down the alleys melancholically. Gabe seemed rather distraught, so Selenus opted to follow him quietly and approach him slowly as opposed to popping in front of him unannounced. He followed him silently for a bit, curious about where exactly the wannabe stage magician was heading. Eventually, Gabe stopped, and Selenus figured it was his chance to say hi. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you want to look at it), Gabe wasn’t the only familiar face he’d be stumbling upon. “Gabe, what are you d-oooooh heeeey froooooog, how’s your hammer hanging?” Selenus shut himself up awkwardly, trying desperately (and failing miserably) to hide the fact that he had no idea Frog was here too. ~~It was embarrassing, okay?~~

Now. Frog wasn't expecting someone to sneak up to him in the alleyways. Well, he was expecting Selenus to do it, but the figure that ended up catching him off guard was unmistakably humanoid. It was the Tuxedo himself-Gabe.

Frog jumped up and landed straight as an arrow facing Gabe. "O-oh Gabe hello! What're you doing like, here, ahah..?" It was apparent that the man caught him doing something he didn't wanna get caught while doing. Frog knew what it was-terrorist business, but the truth could've been more vague from Gabe's point of view.

Thankfully, something interrupted this lil' unmasking process before it even began. The familiar voice spoke, but not to Frog immediately, but rather to Gabe..? So Selenus knew Gabe? Ok, what?

"W-WHAT? You two know each other???" Frog started swinging his arms around. His initial outburst was way above the proposed volume for this meeting, but he realized, perhaps by reflex, his mistake before anyone had to pinpoint it out to him, and soon he spoke in a rather hushed tone once again. "O-oh, ok what's going on, explain."

"Hmm? " Gabe would say as he looked behind himself and saw selenus. "Ah, selenus! How are you doing? I wouldn't think that alleyways would be a decent place to meet, too many of te rough raff like to hang around these parts. Not to say that I'm judgmental, but trouble always seems to find you soon after. " Though, Gabe supposed he should explain how they knew each other.
It seemed that Selenus knew Gerio, but that wasn't Gabe's business in the least. They had different relationships. Gerio was a former client of Gabe, and Selenus was a comrade in arms. It was the testament of different lives, and he decided to keep it that way.

"There was a time where I found myself in a bit of a pickle, and I came across this amazing and intelligent piece of machinery that assisted me. I paid him back with some new hardware, a bit costly, but i always return my debts. What about you? How do you know him?

“Good, for the most part.” Selenus would begin in reply to Gabe. “Just taking a leisurely walk before I have to get ready for work. Figured since I work in this district, it’d be more convenient to stroll here as opposed to anywhere else.” Of course, when Selenus spoke of his job, he was referring to the both of them; the barista and the vigilante. “What about you? Fancy Gentleman archetype taking alleys? You realize you’re more likely to get shanked here than out in the open, right?” He chuckled,

Now, this was unexpected and all, but was Frogerio… angry? If nothing else, he looked fairly frustrated… or was he flustered? It was hard to tell. “Nothing’s going on, we just happen to be friends.” He would reassure the teenage boy, then turn to Gabe. “We met one day when his dog tried to give away my hiding spot. Come to think of it, how is that big ball of brown doing? He hasn’t uncovered any other espionage plans in the meantime, has he?”

"Hrmn..." Frog crossed his hands and pouted, clearly dissatisfied, though he could see the two of them meeting since he'd met Selenus too...and gotten to be friends with him. So why couldn't other people do the same? True. In face if this defeat, he sighed and shrugged. "Ok, I guess I can believe that, since yeah, Selenus and I met because of my dog.......and haven't stopped meeting since." He let his arms fall limply to his sides. "Titus is fine, thanks for asking. He'd, thankfully, not managed to find any other pointy machines ala you. Heh~" Frog gave a slight chuckle.

What now though? He was here to tell Selenus about what'd happened in the Playhouse. But with Gabe at the scene, his words and actions were limited. He could neither speak or in any way let the man know Selenus and him were Terrorists.

So, as he usually did, he just kept silent for now. Until it occured to him Gabe was Gabe. "O-oh right! I read some of that manga you sold me. It's all right for now, enthralling in a way. I never thought I'd like something like it."

“Oh, but on the contrary, it’s more likely for me to now have cash on me since everything is basically digital nowadays. And even if I was held up to use my ATM card, didn’t you know that putting in your pin in reverse basically both alerts the police and the fact of the robbery attempt and has the money stuck in the machine? That means, they can’t take it, seems convenient no? “

That was some information that Gabe knew, merely as an owner of a casino branch, it seemed essential to know what to do if confronted with an armed position. Though, Gabe instantly laughed at the dog comment

“That is actually hilarious, canine vs machine canine. I wonder if there would be some kind of sporting event on YouTube when the have you guys do the same things, with random judges? I guess that would cause a bit of views. What was the hiding spot about? I see it a bit disconcerting that you can’t get a space to visit your own yet. Is there a means to miniaturize yourself to the size of a hand?

Looking like a toy definitely, has its benefits. Though, Gabe’s mood changed to that of a somber look.

“I’m happy that you like it, there should be more coming shortly. Or at least, I can assure that these levels will still carry a morsel of my touch for a while. Was there anything around it that stood out to you the most?”

He tried to be engaging, but it bothered him a bit. Though, he didn’t want to tell a potential fan about the dramatic event. It wasn’t about him, it was about people being able to enjoy the story.

Selenus couldn’t help but give Gabe a virtual stink-eye. “I am not an RC dog, thank you very much.” Did he really look like one though? Well, he was pretty sure that by his size anyone would mistake him for an animatronic rather than a toy if they were to mistake him for anything at all, but did his design seem childlike? All of a sudden, Selenus was more than a little self-conscious.

Then all of a sudden, Gabe shifted into menacing, almost sinister look. Very unfitting for talking about something as mundane and lighthearted as a story being written. “Gabe uh… you alright? You’re not looking so good.” Had Frogerio struck a nerve or anything of the sort? He really couldn't fathom a good reason for Gabe to get so dark all of a sudden.

"It was like, Selenus was just stalking people looking for something out of a bush." Frog shrugged. "All of a sudden, my dog stops and starts sniffin' around it. What popped out was this guy. I didn't believe him at first but now I can kinda see that he's a, well, some weird sort of a sentient machinery." Frog winked at Sele and gave him a thumbs up. It was a long road but he was finally there, ready to accept this as truth. "A.....well if you can actually get my dog to behave in front of a camera, then sure?" He looked at Gabe. "But like, he never lets anyone take a good shot of him, haha. Iunno why."

The change in Gabe's attitude was concerning. It happened when he mentioned the mango. Hmmmmmmm. His announcement was kinda creepy and mysterious as well. "Wait what happened?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "Did ya sell the rights to your mango or something?" He asked, crossing his hands. "If so, that's a shame. I've told ya I wasn't the one for plotline such as those, but your work was different than what I'd expected. Sure, still somewhat cliched but what isn't nowadays." Frog shrugged.

Gabe himself didn’t really notice the look on his face. After being informed by selenus that his rage was apparently showing, Gabe would try to calm himself down and force a bit of a smile. “ Oh, sorry about that. I must be under a lot of stress as of late. “

However, Gerio seemed to hit the money on the mark when it came to the rights of his manga being lost. At first, Gabe was a bit quiet about that. “Well, I could definitely use a drink right about now. “ He was only half joking at the least, Gabe didn’t want to think about it. “ I didn’t mean to interrupt your conversation between you and selenus if I did, it was a coincidence. As for the manga, In sure, being young and amassing a bit of money, investing in a future or a dream can always come with a backlash of some sort. The fine print has other plans for you, and as soon as anything take off, you’ll be brought back to reality. Everything was swept out from under me, and I have no one to blame but myself.”

“Though, Gabe didn’t want to sour the mood. “The adult world is dangerous Gerio, I’m only in my early twenties. 22? But, as soon as you take the first step, you’ll run into people who pretend that they want to help you, but in all actuality, want everything you have. Would that be jealousy? Or greed? I’m sure selenus is laughing on the inside. Humans, we just, go out of our way to hurt each other. if selenus was programmed to be a kind man on the inside, wouldn't that be convenient if the same could be done for actual people? Though, i know it's impossible.“

"..." Frog was taken aback by Gabe's answer and his general disposition towards it. He was expecting a calm and collected loveable popular maybe cheesy response. What he got was by no means not cheesy, yet it was as honest as it gets. He immediately knew what had happened even without Gabe having to outright tell him anything. He could see from how he spoke of it, or spoke none of it. And he couldn't relate, as much as he wanted to. He just sort of fidgeted in place as a response. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry..."

Some people just made you feel bad when they felt bad. It was a practice Frog himself followed. Making others feel miserable when you were miserable too was just so fulfilling for some reason. There was joinedness in it, if that was a word even. Yet...there was none of it in Gabe though. That's why Frog didn't want to become an adult. Sure he was 18 and was kinda an adult, but he never wanted to fit into society the way the adult world would force him to. Therefore he couldn't sympathize with Gabe, but could fully understand it and reciprocate. "So, uhm, now what? I'm never gonna have mango at your place again?" He asked, honestly. There was no joke in what he said.

No need to apologize, the thing about experience is to know about the ones that the people around you have experienced. Once you do so, it's a lot easier if you ever face it yourself. It's a strategy, to learn from someone's pain and difficulties. You mentally prepare yourself for it now, along with the line of your long life, it won't hurt you as much as it should. To me, life is simply anticipation. "

Gabe would then fold his hands as he leaned against the wall. "Everything that's supposed to happen to you in life....will happen... you'll fall in love... you'll lose someone one or something important to you, just as easily gain it... try to find a life's calling, in your case... prom at the seven stars Academy, it'll all happen. "

As for the manga.

"The first ten volumes, and after that, i'm pretty much done... sadly.

"I meant the other kind of mango...heh..." Frog snickered. It was sad that Gabe's business got stolen or whatever, as much as he'd been previously frustrated by the fact the man was a manga artist. His words stroke Frog as odd as hell. He spoke quite coldly, once again sending those mixed signals about his personality. He could never quite pinpoint the man because of this. Perhaps that was the whole deal behind acting like that.

Frog frowned. "Well that's mighty prophetic of you. The whole deal with the fated outcomes was never something I really accepted." He crossed his hands. "You're not that old even. Come on, cheer up or something. Pssh."

Selenus simply sat and listened as his two friends exchanged words, contemplating the things they were saying. In less than a few minutes his mood had gone from considerably neutral to dry and depressing, and it wasn’t just because of the two other present people’s general moods. These unfairnesses – or, well, the unfairness being committed against his friend reminded him of why exactly he’d become a terrorist to begin with. As it stood, Selenus would remain quiet and without commentary, but it was obvious for anyone to see that he was bothered, and wanted to say something. There wasn’t much he could say here, really, anything he could’ve added might’ve come off as a hypocrisy. Maybe it was about time they dropped the act and spoke about their issues… the more supernaturally inclined ones.
