Current Events
Updated: 20/07/2020

**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

Be sure to constantly check the update thread for any changes to the boards. You can find it ->Here<-

Odio
Quote/ETC. Here

The Biography

Birth Name: "That does not particularly apply. But my most common name was...Odio."
Aliases: "Apparently, this body used to belong to one called Revya. It is a name I have borrowed. Any other titles have no place here."
Gender: "Currently...male, I believe is correct."
Age: "As old as my world, though I am finding that may be barely a fraction of the age of this place."
Birth Day: "To date when I came to be is pointless. February 15, if you must. It is when this body was born."
Species/Race Name: "I was simply a demon before. That does not change here."
Original Homeworld Name: "If you must know, it was Galaendall. It is not a place worth visiting."
Arcana: Tower
Place of Residence: (Where does your character live? )
Academy Semester: "...I do hope this was a poor attempt at humour."
Class: (We'll fill this in once you're approved. This will be your class in school)

Part/Full Time Job: "I have found work as a...'librarian'. It intrigues me, to see just so many books in one place...or at all, even. Just as much as it irks me to see how little respect they oft receive."

Appearance:
"Revya":
Blonde haired, brown eyed, clean faced. An immaculate red cloak clasped with gold wraps about his neck and falls about his body. He might have looked good and noble, had this trend in appearance continued, but the rest of his attire prompts more concerned.
His garments are stained irregularly with blood, clinging to twisted black metal fixtures that were once golden armour, and soaked into royal blue garb marked with the insignia of a dead people. A simple black scabbard hangs from his hip, cracked and charred. The sword is holds is chipped and blackened itself, stained with old blood.
A few foreign plants, most seemingly bearing fruit, are wedged into the crack of his bracers and pauldrons. If you removed them to look, you'd find they were rooted into the ruined metal itself.
All of this is topped off with a cold, passive expression that seems to speak of a certain level of apathy to the world about him.

Personality: (At least a paragraph)

The Potential

Strengths: (Anything your character is skilled in, such as Martial Arts/ Drawing/ etc? You are allowed a maximum of five strengths and a minimum of three.)

Strength Name: Warp Assault
Description: When push comes to shove, Odio proves an excellent example of why fighting a being that can teleport can be a nightmare and a half. His attacks can potentially come in from any angle he so pleases, it's difficult to keep him in a location where he'd have a more difficult time putting up a defence, and he's capable of capitalising on the opportunities that provides.

Generally speaking, this means Odio's crit chance is increased by 10%, and that he is not very easy to trap, pin, or otherwise keep at a disadvantage based on positioning outside of confined spaces.

Strength Name: Cruel and Savage
Description: Odio's fighting style is not exactly refined. He never received training, nor did he even fight that much originally, and there's certain compensations you have to make when your body is radically different. But what's stayed the same is the sheer brutality of it, and the way he drills into every opening he gets.

Odio deals 10% more damage when he critically hits an opponent. When Corrupt, this raises to 15%, due to the form he takes in that state being the one he is accustomed to.

Strength Name: Teller of Tales
Description: The culture of stories is ingrained into Odio, and they are very much dear to his heart. He has an unparalleled ability to recall story, myth and legend, and recount it faithfully to another. He has a similar ability to recognise similarities, parallels, and common elements between things, so long as they relate to a story he has encountered before.

Strength Name: Sudden Eruption
Description: Odio's attacks are not particularly straightforward. They come suddenly at unexpected times, and in highly inconvenient places, making them more difficult to meet properly.

In PvP conflicts, Odio receives a 15% bonus to clashing with other attacks.

Strength Name: Attuned to Magic
Description: Even if his new form, Odio retains a certain sensitivity to magic, and other feats that warp the fabric of reality. He is able to sense the presence of magical activity in a nearby location (though not the direction), and recognise applications of magic for what they are.
This does not extend to the usage of Persona, or other things of that nature.

-----
((Racial Strength: This is where you put any special powers that your race is capable of. This area is where your character truly comes alive. Things such as flight, shape shifting, or anything else your race can do is put here. This strength will be heavily scrutinized to ensure balance.)

Racial Strength Name:
Description:

Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)

Weakness Name: In Two Minds
Description: The knight whose body Odio now possesses - Revya - still remains, and between them the body is shared. In this relationship, Odio is the dominant personality, but he still requires Revya's aid to properly use the body. This creates...problems.

In combat, the disjoint between Odio and Revya has the consequence of reducing the coordination of the body, increasing the chance to hit them by 10% due to the delays and openings created. In addition, should one of the body's inhabitants be disabled or put off balance, or one of the personalities put at odds with the other, Odio's movements become sluggish and awkward until cooperation can be achieved again.

Weakness Name: Unending Hate
Description: A seeming eternity of hating a world lingers with a person. While he has his sanity now, he's still very much vulnerable to the feral rage that consumed him in the throes of his agony.

Rage effects are 10% more likely to succeed on Odio, and should he be afflicted with Rage, it lasts 1 turn longer than normal.

Weakness Name: Fable Fanatic
Description: Odio hunts obsessively for new stories, valuing them above Junction's actual currency. He will hound anyone he believes is keeping one from him, and can be convinced to risk life and limb for one with little difficulty. Tell Odio a story, and he'll be obligated to do something for you in return. Offer Odio a book, and he can be convinced to do just about anything. The better the story, the more you can demand of him, but you're always guaranteed something whether you ask for it or not.
As a side note, Odio is terrible with actual money. He's still struggling to get to grips with the economy.

Weakness Name: All In
Description: When Odio makes an attack, he fully commits, investing in the success of the attack. Revya is no use for tempering this, since he does exactly the same thing. This worked better when they were nigh-invulnerable and impossibly powerful, but now it just opens them up to retribution if things don't work out.

Odio takes 15% more damage when overpowered in a clash.

Weakness Name: The Agonies of Magecraft
Description: The only reason Odio is capable of sensing when magic is being performed is because it gives him terrible, terrible headaches. The greater the magics, the more powerful the headaches, and feats of a great enough power can and will knock him unconscious from the sheer levels of pain.

-----
((Racial Weakness: If you take a Racial Strength, you are required to take a racial weakness. This weakness must tie into your racial Strength and will be looked over just as heavily.)

Racial Weakness Name:
Description:

Soul Bound Weapon: (This is the weapon you'll be able to summon to your hand while in combat. This weapon is special for your character specifically and allows you to fight Shadows and Demons without the need of summoning your Persona. This can be anything but a Gun (Or gun related weapon))

Weapon Name: The Indomitable Blade
Weapon Description: Shining steel, unmarred and unstained - the Indomitable Blade is what Revya's sword used to be like before it ended up in the state it is now. It returns to this state when Odio takes on his demonic form, appearing as simple looking sword with a blade about 1.2 metres long, and a grip long enough to accommodate both hands with a little room to spare.
When Corrupt, the weapon alters to fit Odio's new form, becoming an obsidian blade with veins of magma forming patterns in it. The actual blade of the weapon is wider than before, and seems to expand and glow ever hotter as you approach the tip of it.
Weapon Image:
Indomitable Blade - Corrupted Form:
Weapon Attack Type: Slash
Weapon Element: (Leave this blank. Only special weapons obtain an element behind its blows.)

Side-Arm Weapon:

Side-Arm Name: Splinter Raid
Side-Arm Description: Rather than traditional ranged weaponry, sometimes you have to go with what you actually know - crazy nonsense.
Instead of using another weapon, Odio charges the Indomitable Blade with energy, before using it to send out a fiery wave of energy with a rapid slash. The ragged red wave then travels at high speeds through the air toward the target before impacting forcefully.
It's a technique of Revya's, and one that thus far only the Indomitable Blade can even withstand the usage of within Junction.
Side-Arm Image: (Not necessary)
Side-Arm Attack Type: Gun
Side-Arm Style: Revolver - Single Shot - Accuracy is increased by 20%. Consumes only one type of ammo per use. Can shoot only one enemy at a time.

The Background

History: (At Least 2-3 Paragraphs, Must Include Details On Your Homeworld And How You Ended Up On Junction Or State You Were Born In Junction.)
Somewhere in the multiverse, there existed a realm of magic and steel. Galaendall, they called it. In this world existed beasts of beauty and wonder, fearsome monsters that terrorised the land, swordsmen and archers of such skill you would think it supernatural and mages with the power to reshape their reality. Truly, it was a reality of mighty heroes and storied adventures, a place where any feat you may have heard was never beyond the realm of possibility, and where coin and jewels were so plentiful and basic commodities so available that stories of all kinds had become the lifeblood of the economy. For in a place such as this, was it not true that a good song or a gripping tale would hold more value to others than any material wealth?

In amongst the tales of unknown wonders, however, the various stories of battles hard fought for lives and hearts and the triumphs of heroes over the evils of the world, was a certain set of stories known by every man and woman, by all beasts and children. Bleak tales they were, of the one place in this world kept barren of all good, a hellscape of the truest kind that would unerringly drive those who entered it from its bounds or break them entirely. Hero, villain, the land cared not - the same scorn was shown to all who entered no matter their race or their creed, spiting them and tormenting them until they could take no more of this place.
And at the heart of it all, it was said, there existed a being without equal. A creature of such terrible might that its steps shook the world, bearing such hatred for the world that it had warped the land around it into a place that would only accommodate wretched abominations that sought to bring oblivion to all things.
By many names it went. The Seeker of Ruin, the Wrath of the World, the Herald of Entropy. But most often, it was simply referred to as Odio, and the only ones who showed no fear at that name were the most ignorant and foolhardy of all.

For all the blight that Odio was, there were few who sought to end him. His lands, while still a place that would strike fear even into nightmares themselves, did not encroach. The incursions of the things within those lands would take the greatest of heroes and villains to end, but such things were rare, and persons of such legendary power were common fare for this place. The troubles this land brought to the outside world mostly originated with those who would not remain outside it, for even despite its terrible nature, others were drawn to it all the same. And so, he was left alone. They lost little from allowing him his lands, compared to the tragedy assured if they sought to cross them to reach him.
Of those who went, it was never known just how far they managed to reach into that place, save for if they died close to its edges. But those who did not abandon their attempt never returned, their stories to remain forever untold.

Time continued on, and that remained the same. Centuries and then millennia passed by, none ever seeking Odio save a few rare souls, all of them doomed to failure before they had ever begun.

In all this time, there was another story being told.

_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/

Since the dawn of Galaendall, he had been. An immutable existence in the world, beyond the ravages of time.
Consciousness did not come immediately. Rather, there was awareness, but not true sentience. But when you have all the time in the world, how long a thing might take often proves not to be a concern. That was more a matter for the mayflies that dotted the lands about him, their feeble existences so painfully short. It was almost pitiable.

Once thought had come, so came the ability to begin understanding the world he inhabited. He left the lands in which he had awakened, and began to explore. He climbed jagged peaks, dove beneath crystal waters, and plumbed the depths of Galaendall itself. He encountered the beasts of the world, and obliterated any of them foolish enough to face the terrible might he had found he possessed, pulverised by his great fists or immolated in the pyres he called forth from his body and from the land itself. The world was his to command, and he had yet to even call upon the entirety of what he was and could be. In this land in which he had awoken, he was an example of the concepts that intelligent beings developed to explain the ways of the world, those beings beyond mortal reproach that embodied and commanded the aspects of the universe as they knew it.
Unto the world that had spawned him, he was a god. Not in nature, perhaps, but in the overwhelming power that he had always commanded.

With the rise and fall of Galaendall's governing star, more life like he began to appear in the world. Their shapes were different, their bodies feeble, and their power so woefully little. But they had come to receive the gift of mind as he once had so long ago, and their intellect grew by the day. On several occasions he had appeared to them, seeking to interact with them. But his presence was too much, towering over them with his monstrous form and frightening them with his inhuman voice. Legends of demons were born from these events, an answer to what the sight before them had been.

Seeing the futility in trying to appear to them as he was, he opted to watch from afar. As their civilisations developed he gazed from afar, curious as to what would develop from the minds of intelligent life. And through this, he came to discover his favourite creation of intelligent minds…stories. Disparate though these many peoples were, they would spin a yarn of their daily lives, finding common grounds through the recounting of their days. They gripped others through the sharing of the good and ill in their lives, finding new brothers and sisters where they thought they had none, and capturing the hearts of their earnest audience…he included.

His power continued to grow as time marched on, but he found himself caring little for the unholy might he wielded. He had no interest in smiting the creatures of these lands, nor in destroying the fixtures that adorned it. The only addition to his powers he truly cared for was access to the paths between spaces, the power to travel great distances in an instant in but two blinks of light. For with this, no distance would bar him from the stories of the world, and they were all he would ever need.

As aeons passed, he would watch and listen happily, until one day sudden pains started to plague him. In his every moment they would agonise him, but he still continued on, immersed in the stories of Galaendall. But the pains were ever increasing, and eventually he could ignore them no longer – he had to know from whence they came.

Magic. That was what they called it. The peoples of the world had learned to claim powers that were once only wielded by him. Feats of legend beyond the limitation of their bodies became commonplace, agonising him with their every performance. But he bore it without ill will, and listened to the stories. He would not begrudge them their progress.
But not even his stories escaped the ravages of magecraft. The tales that had gripped him became far and few between, the struggles diminished and the victories contrived. Braggarts took hold of the market of stories, burying the shimmering gems of storytelling under trite and shallow works.

It was then he started to hate. His greatest of loves now torn from him, he was left to deal with a reality that sought nothing more than his suffering. It had brought him life and joy, only to pervert what he held dearest and turn his every moment into a torment. All this, in a single move.
Magic was what had wrought this. The world had created sorcery, and with it warped all beyond recognition. And even with the might of a god, he could never change that, for even he was bound by the world’s laws. And thus here he was trapped, doomed to an eternity of misery.
He hated it. He hated it, and hated it more. Away from the world he retreated, his hatred warping the land around him into something indomitable to the hubris that magic had created.
It was about this time that tales of Odio and his lands began to surface, the places where a being's spite toward a realm it now deemed abominable had been imbued into the soil itself.

_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/

The two tellings continued to run in parallel, Odio and the world interacting little with each other. But this could not continue forever. And one day, the world pushed for a climax, to bring to an end the greatest tale it would ever see.

All was well, at first. Adventurers roamed the lands, and bards would recount the greatest of the stories they'd heard.
Then, the world erupted in fire.
Great pillars of flame rose from the earth, making ash of all they touched. Explosions shook the world, blasts of searing force that obliterated any caught in their range. Mighty blows levelled the mountains and sundered the earth, the only sign of their cause two flashes of light and a monstrous form gone too quickly to gaze well on.
But the most telling of all, the abominations of Odio's lands had started to pour forth from its borders, leaving only horror in their wake.
Odio had gone unchecked for too long. And in this moment, it was apparent that all that lived in the world would need to band together to stop him, or it would mean the end of them all.

The greatest of all the peoples gathered as one across Galaendall, numerous groups formed of heroes and villains alike united by a common cause. Into Odio's lands they charged, the grand alliance surging through from every point of its borders to deliver all of their greatest to Odio, and end his threat.
Of the multitudes that went to war, only three ever reached him. Kaelus, the sorcerer, unmatched in his magic.
Aria, the rogue, an assassin without peer. And Revya, the knight, both gold of hair and gold of heart.
The rest had fallen prey to Odio’s lands, ousted or killed without hope of reprisal.

The world was in their hands, now.

_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/

In the centre of a barren land they found him, the earth scarred by magma and stained white by ash. Above them he towered even down on his limbs, body a pyroclastic flow that yet remained solid. Four arms with clawed hands, tattered wings that spanned the world, a tail that would coil and uproot the mountains. Upon his body were the faces of hell, head topped by spires that pierced the heavens and with fangs that could devour the earth. And centred in his chest was a deep red gem, thrumming with power untold.
In his hate, Odio gazed upon the three, and issued his challenge with an inhuman roar. And in their defiance, the three raised their arms, and went to battle with the maddened beast.

Long and hard, their duel was fought, their every blow shaking the earth. Aria was the first to fall, torched to cinders by a pillar of fire only halted by breaking Odio’s left horn. Kaelus fell next, torn to pieces whilst wearied and exhausted and left for the magma to claim. At the end of it all, only Revya remained, the knight that duelled the demon.

Their fight was ceaseless, Revya unyielding long after death should have claimed him, and Odio unfaltering in the face of his blows. After another long clash, the two break from each other, neither yet ready to fall. Then in a moment of lucidity, Odio laughs, then speaking in a voice long unheard.
"Never would I have thought events would turn out like this. I find myself in the classical telling of a war for survival, but with myself as the great threat that must be thwarted. This is a duel of the likes unseen for eons...oh, if only there had been more such as we."
Revya finds himself taken aback, but grips his blade tighter all the same. "If only indeed. It's too bad I'll not be able to go back and tell everyone of our fight when I'm done here."
A feral grin sprouts upon Odio's face. "Of course not. This world ends here, after all."
Revya's eyes widen as power gathers in one of Odio's many hands, an unspoken promise of assured destruction should it ever be unleashed. "Not if I have any say in it!" The knight cries, charging forth in charred and cracked armour with his still gleaming blade in hand.
Into Odio’s chest does Revya bury his blade, driving into the ruby gem that lies there as Odio injects his power into the earth.

Galaendall shakes.

_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/

Junction’s visit to Galaendall proves…depressing. Little remains of the once beautiful land, nought remaining but a segment of black and barren rock floating in space. A few of its greater artefacts remain, and there had always been far too much gold to ever get rid of it all, but the only life that remain lies deep in the soil, a few burrowing peoples with the fortune to be in the only surviving piece of the world. They speak of fiery cataclysm, of an impossible beast that ended the world…though not one they’d fought far enough to see.

Elsewhere, a boy appears in a flash of light, dumped gracelessly onto the ground. Golden hair tops his head, and a red cloak wraps his body. He wears royal blue garments now darkened and bloodied, and once shining yellow armour now cracked, charred, and warped. Gripped in his hand is a chipped and blackened sword, and small plants from a dead world have found themselves wedged into the plates he wears.
His eyes open to reveal a deep red as he picks himself up, looking over his unfamiliar form, and this unfamiliar place.

I...I am free. The pain I was cursed with has fled me. But...this is not my body. Nor is this any place I know. Where have I found myself? He reaches to the spaces outside, and they welcome him, but he cannot cross far before he blinks back into the world. He scowls, and blinks out again, but he still can't get far. Furthermore, he finds himself increasingly exhausted as he continues trying.
Stop that! My body's not meant to take this!
Odio pauses. Hero? You remain?
Yes! Now get out of my body!
Odio starts walking, not eager to invoke more protest. I do not even know how this happened. Though, I suspect it had something to do with you.
The voice of the knight becomes more irate. This would have never happened in the first place if you hadn't been trying to destroy the world!
...enough was enough. None of this matters now. Galaendall is gone, and we are stuck together. We shall have to deal with this whether or not it's to your liking.
Now, what is your name, hero?
...Revya. And you? What do you call yourself?
Call me what you like. It is of no concern to me.
...fine then, Odio. Have it your way.

Odio starts to make his way from the slums of Junction, the greaves of the knight whose body he now possessed marking his every step. ...I wonder what stories await me in this place?
