Updated: 20/07/2020

**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

"Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] UNV7q

The planetarium was always a fascinating place for someone like the woman who would be there this morning time. The woman pedaled quickly on her bike to the entrance, before stopping abruptly all of a sudden, making a halt so hard others thought she was about to fly forward. However, the woman was able to flip forward well enough in order to land on her feet in order to lock the bike on its chain.

"Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] Tumblr_nlsydyEMwb1scs3heo1_500

She looked up at the entrance, with a soft smile. Anyone looking at her wouldn't be able to immediately see the excitement on her; she actually seemed rather reserved, but on the inside her heart was ready to burst out of her body in delight to see this place. She managed to escape from her dad, the Gods themselves knew he preferred her to stay near them. However they lived so far, the young adult couldn't help but sneak out. The ride itself took nearly an hour to get there, and she still felt nice and refreshed as though she just took a shower. Maybe she was a little winded and sweaty, but she wasn't bothered in the slightest. She looked around her to see nobody looking at her, and nodded, pulling her arms around her sides, and walking up the steps to the entrance.

"Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] Old_vi12

~Vivian Oates: Five Years Ago~

Vivian Oates walked through, and gazed in hidden awe at the ceiling. It was so pretty, she stopped moving right after she passed through the hall before the lobby. She became oblivious to the point where someone bumped behind her and sent her forward stumbling, however she managed to keep her balance. The person attempted to apologize, but she scampered off from them before they could say much. ".........." She clapped her hands together and began to roam through the lobby, not exactly moving forward into the planetarium, though she would eventually. Vivian was simply enjoying herself right now. Why did her family never let her out of their sight all the time? It was so damn silly to see them screw around with their dumb money and dates and stupid makeup. She felt like a rebel, and she was damn proud of it. The life of a punk, rebelling against the world! It was so unbelievable to see; she wanted to see the dumb look on her folks now. What would the coots think to see her out here, away from home again?

"Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] OevWbsn

~Maria Woodsworth: Five Years Ago~

Morning

Last night was a tumultuous evening. Maria had wanted to leave for the Research and Development Building ever since hearing about its opening today. But her siblings lacked the interest to go. Some of them rather wear their thumbs away playing their video games and others were busy playing with their friends after school. Honestly, she was really getting worried for their futures at this rate. This was something she would have to fix upon returning home. But in regards to actually going to the R&D building to skip school, that was out of the question for them. On the other hand, her parents were against her going alone. It was obvious what they were going to say about her skipping school for this. After all, the argument last night centered on this.

"Hmm..."

She found herself at its entrance. Anticipation was welling up inside her. Many had promised that the establishment was worth the trip. Today was her day to find out. But she couldn't keep down the worry about going alone. It was her first time actually going against her parents' wishes and being alone this far away from home and not in school. But maybe it won't be so bad and she was really overthinking it.

--------------------

Yes, that had to be the case. The Planetarium was just wonderful. She found herself asking many questions of the marvelous displays here and there. It boggled the mind on the extent the human mind is capable of realizing in the material world. It really made her consider her humble background as a daughter of a couple that owned a Mom and Pop shop. Maybe, just maybe she should actually succeed in her studies for once. And maybe she can help make these things too...

As much as she was enjoying this place, it was feeling rather lonely going around on her own. But the young girl just couldn't figure out who to bother and enjoy the scenery here. Perhaps maybe this girl wouldn't mind some talk?

"H-hi. Enjoying your day here?" she softly inquired of a Vivian Oates.

Maybe at best it would be an unremarkable response. But it can't hurt to mingle around with the visitors, right?

//"Nani? What is wrong, Jakob?"//

The young Tsurinai swung around to face her butler with an inquisitive look. Not even two hours ago, she'd been enjoying a nice nap on the airplane, so anything even slightly away from the norm was completely lost on her. Nevertheless, that was why they had sent Jakob with her. You couldn't send a 15-year old daughter of a powerful family out alone on a vacation, that was simply stupid. Not that she minded, her personal butler was always fun to have around, if only so she could pick on him in her spare time.

~Jakob: Five Years Ago~

"Miss Shiina, I simply don't believe you should have your camera out at all times. It attracts attention, and, ah, how do you say it... Sie sehen aus wie ein Tourist." The young man of German descent shook his head with a soft sigh. Truth be told, he was used to this, the mistress' shenanigans hadn't been lost on him throughout the five years he'd been serving her already. Indeed, when he was only a wee little boy of 13, he'd already been a butler. The woes of someone belonging to a line of glorified servants.

"Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] Smksggd

~Shiina Tsurinai: Five Years Ago~

//"Eeeh? Oh, come, Jakob, I simply want to record this trip to show mama and papa! Don't you think they would appreciate it? Hmmm?"// The Tsurinai's heavy Japanese accent wasn't lost on the surrounding locals, and her mannerisms were typical of a high school girl of her age. She only had anime to blame for that, even if free time to watch it was scarce nowadays. //"Here, I even made us a plan for the trip. Our next stop should be, ah... the planetarium, yes. All according to keikaku~"//

Shiina let out a soft chuckle as she flipped her camera's display closed, also turning the whole thing off in a single fell swoop. The way to the planetarium, thankfully, wasn't very hidden, so an exasperated Jakob and an excited Shiina quickly found their way to the facility... just in time to see an amazing bike trick! The Tsurinai hooked her camera onto her skirt and began clapping proudly at the display, giggling with excitement.

//"Kakkoii~! Jakob, did you see that, did you see that??"// The platinum-haired young woman faced her butler again, but only got a soft smile and a pat in response. It seemed that, even while tired, he couldn't help but be compassionate.

Yet, the two didn't walk in straight away, no, they first took in the surroundings, letting others take the time to enter. Shiina didn't want to keep them waiting because of her, after all. It was only after many were already inside that the two finally set foot in the Planetarium, a whistle of surprise escaping both their lightly parted lips in unison.

"Very impressive. I didn't expect such a small place to have this developed of a facility. Sehr gut." The young butler cracked a light smirk and nodded in satisfaction.

//"Aagh, Jakob, this is no time for gushing! Isoge, isogeee! Hurry, let's check out the displays~!"// Shiina quickly took her butler's hand and began running him around the facility, earning her a simple, tired, sigh.

Vivian looked behind her to see a girl that was arguably shyer than she was. "...Yes. It's already my favorite place here. I will be staying here all day, do you like it here too?" She asked, pulling up a flyer she had on her, shaking her oversized sleeves until her hands fell out of them to open said flyer to look through. "Hm.....Zodiacs..." she pondered, before closing up her flyer and looking at the demure girl, and gave her the flyer she held. "Maybe you should go look around as well. It's a huge place here, and it's good to plan a day." She suggested, before noticing a pair of silver-haired tourists run through the entrance deeper into the planetarium. She recalled that earlier they were clapping outside, apparently from her little maneuver  outside on her bike. Was it that impressive...? Well, either way, she ended up fidgeting with her sleeves before following them. She got a few paces forward before turning back to the blue-haired girl. She couldn't tell if she was younger or older, but then again, Vivian herself was twenty-two, and she looked rather petite for her age, so appearances were very deceiving.

"Why don't you come with me? I think it'd be fun,"
she however did not wait much longer for an answer, and decided to skip ahead behind the girl, pulling out a small notebook and jotting some information down on basically gibberish. She would come from behind Shiina and poke her on the shoulder, smiling like she had just played a proper practical joke. "It looks great doesn't it? I am excited to see the rest of this place." Vivian leaned closer to the nearby display wherever Shiina was at to get a closer look. It was enticing, but she was in her own little world at this point.

There was a kindred spirit. Then again, this place was remarkable.

"Oh yes! It's really far beyond what I imagined," Maria beamed back at her, "I've never seen anything like this before."

The unique environment was breath-taking for Maria. For her, life was just helping out that restaurant and watching over the kids for the most part. Her worldview was smaller than most for legitimate reasons. Coming here seemed to be the best thing ever for her. The possibilities were there, she just needed to reach for it.

"Zodiacs? What are those?" she cocked her head to the side while raising an eyebrow. The girl accepted the flier from her and admired the professional and impressive design. "Mmn... I think you're right on that. It's just that there's so much here."

She was considering the options right now while putting a thoughtful finger on her lip. It was still the morning and there was a lot to look around and enjoy what this facility had to offer. She blinked upon hearing Vivian's suggestion.

"Sure, I would love to. I'm Maria. What do you call yourself?" she asked her with her grin stretching wider, albeit a little bit shakier. She was going with a stranger, but there wasn't really anything wrong with that. She was old enough to take care of herself. Wasn't that part of the reason she was here to prove them and to herself?

"W-wait for me!" Maria followed after Vivian, who seemed to have found someone of interest.

And that someone looked like she had a boyfriend, how nice. Maybe the R&D facility would be a good spot for a date... if she ever had one for that matter. The silverette seemed to be just as old as she was. If she took note of Maria's presence, the girl would only wave and look back towards the display they were both looking at as well.

The Tsurinai's enthusiastic behavior remained steadfast no matter where she went. Her camera zipped around the the displays and caught just enough for all the details to be visible, masterfully maneuvered all around with a fluidity like water~ Or rather, Shiina wanted to believe that. In the end, the video looked choppy and blurry from all the moving around, yet the girl looked satisfied nonetheless with what she caught so far.

//"Yoooosh, mama and papa will love this~"// Shiina grinned brightly and twirled in place once, before handing over the now filled SD Card to her butler. She had bought three cards, each with 8 gigabytes of space... yet, they went soooo fast. It was amazing just how huge video ended up as... oh well, better to conserve them for later. Once she got to their vacation home, she'd have fun rendering them into a smaller size.

Though, Shiina lost her smile when she felt a poke on her shoulder, and the girl instinctively pulled her head faaaar back and stared at the new person with wide eyes... backwards.

//"Huh? Oh, yeah, it is quite amazing."// With another twirl, the platinum-haired teenager faced the other girl, and then peeked behind her when she saw another person run towards them. Huh, was everyone in Endymion in such a rush? Well, she couldn't blame them, all the displays in this place looked positively amazing~ Of course, that's what Shiina would say. Jakob was quite bored, having already studied all this in high school.

Vivian was happy to see the girl respond well to her. She hadn't spoken to someone that wasn't her parents in over a week! She hated being so busy sometimes with the family. "Mhm. It's very pretty. Hello, are you her brother?" she asked Jakob. They looked quite similar after all. Vivian herself was an only child as far as she knew, so she couldn't get to have experiences like these with someone. She looked at Maria who was struggling to catch up and smiled. "Oh, my name is Vivian, but I call myself a queen or a badger sometimes. Nice to meet you too." She looked around at where they were; a new part of the building she didn't expect to see so soon. Though she wanted to look around, she also was good to see two newcomers talk to her. She was almost giddy at the thought, and remained there, hugging her waist and awaiting to hear more from them. "Is the rest of the world like this? It's so nice out here, I bet that the world is this pretty."

PostSubject: Re: "Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria]   "Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] EmptyThu Mar 24, 2016 12:53 am

Maria had followed her with the soles of her boots clacking a tad harshly against the floor as she tried to keep up. There! She finally caught up with the older girl, who seemed to be making conversation with this other girl and her boyfriend--who Vivian thought was her brother. They did have the similar hair color, so it was understandable if they were siblings. Maria didn't know if they were a couple either... But then again, there was a considerable age gap it seems.

"Queen?" she found herself raising an eyebrow at Vivian's statement. She didn't look anything like a queen or even a badger. It sounded like she was joking around. So Maria could only nod awkwardly at this, "I... see."

It was better to just accept it and move on for now. Vivian seemed very vibrant as a person. She enjoyed this day a whole lot than Maria was, and this was something the younger girl noticed. Perhaps, she too should take a page from Vivian's book and follow her example. Or maybe not too much, Maria didn't want to seem too weird after all.

"I hope so too, she happily agreed with Vivian and then murmured at an aside, "I wish I had a camera with me right now..."

She had forgotten to buy one of those disposable cameras back in the local market. All that was on her mind was how great or awful the R&D establishment was going to be. And now she was paying for it.

PostSubject: Re: "Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria]   "Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] EmptySat Mar 26, 2016 8:06 pm

Jakob tilted his head slightly at the strange girl's question, then lightly shook it from side to side. "Ah, no, I'm simply Miss Shiina's, well... personal assistant, you'd put it, I suppose." He flashed a soft smile, which quickly vanished as the Tsurinai huffed and waved her arm in front of him.

//"What he means to say is that he's my butler! My sah-van-toh! The guy who brings me breakfast to bed every morning and caters to my every need."// Shiina looked proud while exclaiming this, as she even placed on fist on her waist to give some extra oomph to her boastful claim. //"But he might as well be my onii-san. Isn't that right, o-nii-saaan~?"//

The platinum-haired girl chuckled as she saw a tinge of red creep up her butler's face, but the young man simply sighed and crossed his arms, acting aloof. He wished she didn't joke about things like that, but hey, it was good enough to lighten the mood.

//"Oh, heh, where are my manners. Watashi wa Tsurinai Shiina-desu, hajimemashite! My name is Tsurinai Shiina, it's nice to meet you!"// The Tsurinai bowed respectfully towards Vivian, and then to the other girl that just came up behind her. //"Oh, but, if you're a badger, does that mean you go around badgering people? Is that what you're doing now?"// She looked a bit confused, but deep inside, she was simply playing along.

"My name is Jakob... Jakob Schuss. As Miss Shiina aptly put, I'm the Tsurinai family's loyal employee." He placed his forearm in front of his body, then bowed over it, instinctively positioning his other arm right behind his back.

With introductions done, though, Shiina couldn't help but hear what the other girl had to say... and her brow furrowed. The young girl lightly elbowed her butler's arm and whispered something to him, causing him to smile softly and hand over the remaining two SD Cards to his mistress. She then walked over to where Maria was standing and extended her arms out to her, presenting her camera and the cards alongside each other.

//"Here, you can take this one. We'll just go and buy another one when we leave this place. Iinda yo, iinda yo~"// She seemed genuine, and her smile spanned from ear to ear. Shiina simply waited in hopes the girl took the items. After all, she didn't need them, she had plenty of money to replace them whenever she wanted. Not like a camera costed that much nowadays, right?

"Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] E94

Vivian looked up to Jakob the butler, and nodded. "I see. Good work, if she is so happy, you're doing your job. Do you loan your services to other families, or just her?" She looked at the girl, named Tsurinai Shiina. She was Japanese, which was a nice language to speak. She however didn't speak it at all. She knew a language or two thanks to her family, but this was a subject yet to be touched. "I like to believe that they are simply dumbstruck by my presence, that they just tell me to go away out of fear, instead of being annoyed." She nodded in confirmation and watched as Shiina gave her gift to Maria. That was awfully nice of her; she appreciated nice people like that, did that mean she had a lot of money? "My family can buy things as well. Congratulations Maria. You received an SD card and camera. Should we take a photo together to celebrate?" She said, putting her arms around her in a generous hug. She was quite the touchy feely one wasn't she? Though she kept her hands back in her sleeves, she might as well have been feeling them up for all the good it did. She wasn't touching inappropriately mind you, but for someone she just met, it may have bewildered them, buuut hopefully not.

PostSubject: Re: "Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria]   "Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] EmptySun Mar 27, 2016 3:56 am

As Maria had just caught up, it looked like introductions were already in place. And this girl, introducing herself as a Tsurinai Shiina, seemed to be obviously Japanese. At least, based on her name and the introduction. While her supposed "boyfriend" was likely a German who worked for her... perhaps a butler? Maria had missed out on the bit where they answered Vivian's question about Jakob's connection with the Tsurinai. The blue-headed girl seemed to be a loss at what to do as she scrambled for some words to come out of her lips.

"U-uh, um... I'm Maria. Maria Woodsworth, she finally blurted out her own introduction, seemingly squeamish while continuing, "N-nice to meet you two!"

Already in her head, she was trying to calm herself. It was only a small introduction and maybe just hanging out a couple of harmless strangers in a nice place like this. But on the other hand, after introductions were over, Maria was still feeling regretful for not stopping by the nearest convenience store for a camera. Maybe they sold a couple of them at some gift shop here? Did they even have one in a place like this?

"Wh-what?! I can't take this! A-are you sure about this? Isn't this expensive?" Maria started to blabber on as her hands were shaking upon grasping the camera and the SD card as if they were fragile.

Being raised in a lower middle class and frugal family, such things seemed ever out of her reach. She felt like she was going to be stepping into some very unfamiliar territory alright. Was this okay? Maria wasn't sure at all. But, Vivian didn't seem to mind... especially when she was starting to hug her.

"W-wha!? W-where are you touching? she stuttered with her face starting to flush at the intimate contact with her arms outstretched as Vivian embraced her.

She just wasn't sure how to take this. Maybe she should hug back? Returning this kind of intimacy seemed a bit too much for Maria's tolerance, being as innocent as she was. Before she could, the older woman gave a suggestion to actually use the camera. Maria nodded in agreement at this, albeit shyly. But looking back at the dials and controls, she just wasn't sure what to do with it. Especially with a digital camera.

"...so how am I supposed to use this?"

"Miss Shiina is my only mistress, I'm afraid. Yet, we're both content with that arrangement. If she required me to, I would lay my life down for hers." Jakob smirked proudly as he said this, which caused Shiina to return the blush she had just made him put on by herself. The butler didn't say anything else, simply enjoying his accomplishment.

//"Y-you joker... I would never ask you to do that, come on!"// The Tsurinai pouted and turned away, until she heard what Vivian had to say to her question. //"Out of fear? Shikashi, anata wa kowai jaarimasen... you're not scary at all!"// She said this very adamantly, like she refused to believe that someone thought Vivian was scary. Even still, it wasn't like Shiina really had to believe her anyway, she'd been nothing but weird this entire conversation, after all. Good thing she liked weird.

"You shouldn't worry, Miss Maria. It was... somewhat expensive, yes, but simply a smidgen compared to the funding we got for the entire trip. It's, as we say, ein Geschenk. It won't do us any harm to give you it, trust me." The young man, after saying this, passed a hand over his bangs and let out a sharp and quick sigh. They still hadn't moved very far ahead in the expositions, had they? It would be best to get a move.

//"Oh!"// But that didn't stop Shiina from trying to help, after a short giggle at how close the two girls were. It brought a bit of warmth to her heart. Nevertheless, when Maria asked for help, the Tsurinai quickly went to her side and grasped the camera over her hands, moving them to the correct spots. //"First, you must insert the SD Card into this slot... then simply press this round red button to begin recording. If you want to use a filter, click on the menu button here, and use the arrow keys to maneuver to this option with a graphic of a picture with a mountain and a tree."// The Tsurinai appeared to be enjoying giving this explanation, oblivious to her mannerisms. //"To complete a recording, there is this button with a red square on it, just press that. There are other features as well, like distorting the capture for funny effects, or removing something known as the 'red eye effect'."//

Shiina would continue teaching Maria how to operate the camera until the girl voiced that she'd got the picture.

"Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] Empty

Vivian tilted her head. "I should dress up more. We should all go to a place with costume themes." She spoke. She felt out of place with these two, but she had fun with it. She enjoyed sticking out for no reason. She watched as the two began to learn about cameras. She herself was familiar, but she listened nonetheless. She looked around at the ceiling and the other exhibits to see more of the area. She moved around to the other side of the duo to watch Maria learn. She put two fingers from either hand in the shape of a camera frame, capturing the two in her image. "Two unlikely friends, together through the magic of technology. The world is a strange place indeed."

"I-I see... Thank you."

Maria continued to gingerly hold the item as she continued to gaze upon it with caution. Despite Jakob's reassurances, she wasn't quite sure what to think about this. What would her parents think about her? Some random person gave it to her out of the kindness of their hearts? She knew they wouldn't accept that kind of explanation even if it was true. Perhaps she should just hide it elsewhere once she got home.

Maria would find herself allowing Shiina to take the camera again, this time giving her all sorts of directions how to use the little device. She would nod her head at each point as if bobbing it at a rhythm. It didn't seem too hard after all. The girl was pretty much doing the same thing Shiina was telling her to do through her directions. Navigation didn't seem at all difficult either.

"Mmn. I think I got it," she said slowly with her thumbs still pressing upon the buttons and navigating through the digital device.

It was a wonder to her, having had to stick with an old disposable camera for long. Yes, she had her own kind of digital camera back at home, but her father was the one that used it the most when they went out for a road trip. And even outside of those trips, it was rarely used.

Then she finally pressed upon the video recording button in which to a corner of the monitor that a timer was starting to accumulate each past second. Through it, Maria could see Vivian forming a camera frame with her fingers.

"I don't think it's too strange. Everyone can be nice enough to be friends," Maria disagreed gently as she zoomed in on Vivian with a slowly forming smile that was lacking her earlier shyness, "Say cheese, Vivian."

"Star-Gazing" [Morning - Shiina - Maria] Empty

//"Great, you should be set, then!"// Once Maria was done with the small tutorial, Shiina would eagerly place the camera back into her hands and then take a step back with a small twirl. //"Make sure you clean the lenses once in a while! A bit of rubbing alcohol should do for that. You don't want a smudged movie, after all."//

Jakob, though, silently tapped on his mistress' shoulder and pointed at his wristwatch. The information made Shiina pout slightly, but she simply shrugged and opened her hand up to him, all five fingers extended outwards. The butler sighed and put on a small smile, then nodded, a gesture that made the Tsurinai beam with satisfaction.

//"Yosh, yosh! Girls, we should go really quickly through the rest of this place, ne? If we don't hurry, it'll be lunch soon!"// The young girl curled her hands into fists and placed them firmly on her hips with the widest smile she'd given yet. It was readily apparent that she was trying just a smidgen too hard to look like a genuine leader. She was young, after all, and so very immature...

"I don't think we have to hurry quite that much, but if we wish to view all the available displays, we do need to start moving now. Eile jetzt." Jakob gestured further down the hallway in a far too prim and proper manner, his upper body forming a near perfect 60 degree angle with his legs as he took a short bow. It was up to the other two to start moving now, but if they did, Shiina and her butler would follow suit, or lead suit, whichever the girls wished.
