Current Events
Updated: 20/07/2020

**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

Be sure to constantly check the update thread for any changes to the boards. You can find it ->Here<-

Plot Idea: Semibreve - Song lost in Order Empty
PostSubject: Plot Idea: Semibreve - Song lost in Order   Plot Idea: Semibreve - Song lost in Order EmptyThu Apr 29, 2021 9:09 pm

The world wasn't always a place where Demons roamed, it was a peaceful place.. but something changed... no one knows why... no one knows how.. but suddenly Demons appeared... guns, swords, spears, bows...bombs.. nothing seemed to have any affect on these creatures, Untouchable they rampaged, and the people were forced to scatter.

Scattering at the time was the best thing they could have done... The demons congregated where there was a large amount of people, Their Negative emotions and ill will causing Shadows to form.. dangerous in their own right.. but with enough time or with strong enough emotion these could form into fully formed Demons..

The Scattering of humanity caused the cities to empty, but it saved many lives and prevented people from being totally wiped out. but it weakened them.

Then one day they arrived, at the ruins of one of the many cities which had fallen to the chaos, violence, and Demons, with powers that allowed them to fight off the Demons, Driving them from the city, forcing out the Shadows, Securing the city for people to live in once more and to help the people of the area gather and stay safe.

They taught the people what allowed them to do such things...Through Music they repelled demons and shadows, Emotion, the self, all of this poured into music allowed one to manifest abilities that could harm the demons, Many called it magic music, eventually this came to be called Mugic.

For a time the city, now renamed Semibreve, prospered. It grew into a mighty Metropolis, people gathered more and more. But with more people... came more negative emotions... more Ill will... and with that.. more Shadows... more Demons. But the people had a weapon now... not everyone could use it.. but those that could? they could fight back.

The great city was under siege by the shadows, by the demons once more, but they were fought back and order was restored.. but concessions had to be made... the ones that Ran the city, The organization Rhythm, Their members had died or disappeared, in their place was a new group of leaders a group calling themselves Tempo.

The issues had been narrowed down... to a lack of order in the city, and so new rules and laws were made, the squabbles of people put to rest by the security forces, the less squabbles the better for the safety of everyone...

Eventually the city became safer and safer... but at the cost of everything being made more ordered...

Several Decades have passed, and the City still runs this way under the watchful gaze of Tempo, to prevent even the smallest of Squabbles.. Music.. the main means of defense was chosen as the means to separate the city, High ranking members of Tempo were given Districts of the city, Each district a city in and of itself, dedicated to their genre of music, to train and find new Mugic users to keep the City safe from demons and to police the populace.

To keep order Music from different Genre's is not allowed in other districts of the city, to prevent heated squabbles over something that many people now seen as highly important to the safety of everyone. those that do not follow these Governing laws are Collected and then Corrected.... treated as a threat to the peace of the people... they are dealt with to keep everyone else safe.

And in this way the peace and safety of the city is kept....

But humans can't always live like this... there are those that wish to be free... to express themselves... wherever they are in the city, in what ever district... These people are they evil? are they good? or are they simply Human?

Plot Idea: Semibreve - Song lost in Order Empty
PostSubject: Re: Plot Idea: Semibreve - Song lost in Order   Plot Idea: Semibreve - Song lost in Order EmptyThu Aug 19, 2021 6:11 pm

Tempo
High Tempo Goes fastest, but actions cost 5% more resources (hp/sp)
Normal tempo goes normal speed
Low Tempo goes slowest but actions cost 5% less resources (Hp/sp)

This can change combat order, Tempo is selected before every battle, anyone on the same Tempo can post during that time

I.E. If two people are High Tempo ether of them may post before the Tempo changes to the next lowest Tempo

If enemies are on the same tempo a time limit of 3 days is given before the enemy on that Tempo order posts, giving time for the players to post before the Enemy

I.E. If the afformentioned two people on High Tempo don't post for 3 days, then any Enemy on High Tempo with them will get to post, after 1 enemy posts, the count is reset, the count is only reset with an enemy posts. (this is to keep things moving and prevent stalling)

Notes
Bass, Midrange, Treble are the "Notes" one can play by Using skills or by using their soulbound instrument, this is used in both types of Battle, and both Enemies and Allies Share the Notes already played.

Tunes

Playing three notes in a certain order give different effects

"Rising" Tune
Bass -> Midline -> Treble
last one would get a 10% boost as a complementary beat is made

"Switch"
Bass - Bass - Treble
the second "note" is weakened by 10% slightly, but the last one is increased more then a "Rising" and in given a +20% boost.

"Waver"
Bass-Treble-Bass
nice and steady no drown outs but no complementary notes No effects

"Flat"
bass bass bass
Drowns out and causes the second note to be weakened by -10% and then further causes a -20% reduced effectiveness of skills for last in the order.

"Notes" are considered at the end of the round for Effects

Waver/Flat/Switch notes can be done with different notes

Example of a Switch using Different "Notes"
Note 1-Note 1-Note 2

Flat
Any of same three notes

Waver
Note 1 - Note 2(different) - Note 1

using a skill r doing an action that doesn't play a note breaks the tune and the action after that starts a new tune

Two types of Combat
Combat has changed somewhat, in that Party size is now 5 players, with a 6th slot for "On stage support" (explained later), but on top of that there now two types of combat

Normal combat - to kill or subdue enemies with Violence, Uses weapons and guns

Rhythm combat - to convince Enemies to surrender or change sides, or simply render them unconscious (some enemies/bosses are immune to this), uses Stage equipment and Instruments. (can be used to acquire Support from the Masses if Crashing a Concert/Event)

On Stage Support
A combatant that does not attack and only heals and buffs, they are capable of being targeted however, this position grants a 5% damage reduction, party can only have 1 On stage support, On Stage support cannot block incoming damage for others.

Public Support
To change the publics mind.. you need their support, but you can also lose that support by doing things they dislike.. Public support can affect prices, item availability, and even can change how strong your Mugic is in some cases if extremely high (or low) it can also increase or decrease the difficulty of certain events.

Each district has their own Public Support level, so you could be hated in one district but loved in another, just remember... it was the ill feelings of people that caused the rise of Demons...

some simple rules for Stage outfits are as follows and yes there are sterotypes so what?

Rap - Usually includes gold chains and marks of status ether through money or physical alterations (piercings and tattoos) and hair styles

Classical - Professional Attire, Suits, tux's or gowns and dresses, fit for a opera house, may include ballroom masks. and feathery flourishes but nothing to "out there"

Emo - Think Goth look then make it look homemade or bought from a bargain shop >.>;;

Rock - Lots of denim long hair, usually not very layered, but can be rather bright at times o3o;;

Metal - leather, spikes, Belts, bullets..

EDM - Bright colors, sometimes have Lights on them like LED's, even helmets or Speaker systems built into clothing

Pop - think Pop Idols, happy looking clothing and colors, face paint in happy ways etc etc

Soul Skills and Pure Mugic Skills

All characters get a Soul skill when they awaken this is up to them to make as normal.

What has changed is Pure Mugic Skills. These are Skills that are tied to a Genre(Class) this means if a Character gets a New Genre they get a new Pure Mugic skill.

Unlike Soul Skills, True Mugic Skills require the proper Notes be played to activate the skill, these notes must be in order or the Mugic fails, however only the notes played by the User of the Mugic count for activation, generally the More powerful the Mugic skill the more Notes need to be played (Pure Mugic skills list can be found here).

Special and Unique Mugic Skills
Powerful people in the Government of the city have access to Special and even Unique forms of Mugic, there is a difference between the two, but both are extremely powerful

Special Mugic: Must be taught to the person by someone that knows it, however the person that is learning it needs to have mastered their Genre to gain the knowledge to use Special Mugic as well as find someone to teach them... most people with special mugic guard this knowledge carefully (mastering a Genre means getting all skills unlocked)

Unique Mugic: Unique Mugic is Mugic gained by those who have met a certain condition to enhance their Mugic abilities, unlocking their power further in the form of these special Melodies... some say only the Governing body knows the means to do this.

PostSubject: Re: Plot Idea: Semibreve - Song lost in Order   Plot Idea: Semibreve - Song lost in Order EmptySun Oct 24, 2021 8:58 pm

Ailments and Bosses

Before in Previous plots, Bosses where totally immune to Ailments, In this new plot Bosses have three stages to Ailments (Normal>Resistant>Immune)
Normal > ailments can affect a boss as per normal rules
Resistant > Bosses now become Resistant to All Ailments
Immune > Bosses now are Immune to all Ailments

The First Stage (Normal) Ailments used on a boss will follow normal ailment rules and chances (taking boosts/etc/etc into account of course)  only when the Ailment actually works, will the Boss go up to the Next Stage (Resistant) The boss is then counted as resistant to All ailments, but can still be affected by them you are lucky enough to have them work (so this counts boosts/etc/etc) so if after all your boosts and other factors raise your Chance to Inflict the Ailment to the max (60% I believe) then the Bosses resistance lowers it to 30% chance of success

After this the boss then becomes immune to all ailments.

Physical and Mental Ailments

There are skills and even Arcana that specify Mental Ailments, after searching around I have found that there is an unwritten rule regarding Ailments, as such I will list all the current ailments here in the category they belong in, that being ether Physical Ailment or Mental ailment.

Furthermore any new Ailments made via Soul Skill/Pure Mugic Skill/Class special skills where applicable/Team attacks will fall into one of these two catagores

Physical Ailments
Poison
Searing Burn
Hindering Gust
Frost Bite
Static Shock
Debilitating Spike

Mental Ailments
Fear
Panic
Distress
Despair
Sleep
Rage
Charm

PostSubject: Re: Plot Idea: Semibreve - Song lost in Order   Plot Idea: Semibreve - Song lost in Order EmptyMon Nov 01, 2021 11:14 pm

About Demons and Shadows

As noted before, Shadows can spawn where ever there is a great amount of ill will, usually due to large amount of people having such feelings that are strong enough, normal anger in a group isn't enough unless the group itself is incredibly large, what the "Genesis point" is however is unknown as any attempts to find such a point has proven ineffectual or so wildly inaccurate that it could never be used as a means of early warning, not to mention the sheer invasion of privacy that such a monitoring system would be to the population.

however during a crisis, such as a fire or a building collapse or even a geological or weather event that caused widespread damage, it is nearly assured that such feelings will be strong enough or felt by enough people that a Shadow or even several, are formed through it, Thus it is quite common for the Pace keepers to respond to any and all major crisis even if Demons or shadows are not present at the time.

Shadows are slow to begin with, most "normal" attacks would pass through them harmlessly
Demons on the other hand are "matured" shadows, if you hit one with a real sword or bullet... they would shatter on the Demons body.

But once again it requires a good number of people in an area with a concentrated amount of ill will to create a Shadow
and then that shadow has to be around long enough to mature into a demon, in most cases before Mugic people would just evacuate and problem solved since a Shadow couldn't keep up with them if they were not in a place that the shadow could trap them in.

the City already has a sort of immediate response in the form of Waddle-dee's and Waddle-doo's... though... they are not very strong or durable... but they have numbers seem to be everywhere, and their numbers never seem to decline, though most people just see them as a stop gap to slow the shadows/demons till the real solutions arrive,

and there are also other spirits that could help, but again spirts tend to be weaker then Demons.

On the ubiquity Waddle-dee's and Waddle-doo's

These spirits are so commonly seen around the city that many adults barely give them a passing glance unless they are doing something odd, or they were sent out on a task for that person. Many just see them as a fact of life in the city, or a service of the city like one would think of Water and heating to their home.

Children seem to enjoy playing with them and the Waddle-doo's are known to protect children as if they were Waddle-dee, making them incredibly safe when around these spirits, many people "employ" these spirits to babysit if needed, and many daycares and all Orphanages use these small spirits to help run the places and do tasks.

The most seen variants are "Animal"-dee's who usually take on a form to be more helpful to people, such as the wool providing Sheepy-dee, or the messenger Bunny-dee, but unlike normal waddle-dee's the variants are seen more as an interesting and stand out thing.

Then there is the Rare Golden-dee said to bring good luck if you spot it, as well as the incredibly Durable Silver-dee, the only known one of these is in the Training hall of the Pace keepers.

there are many variants such as "Job"-dee's where a Waddle-dee ends up excelling at a certain job and becomes much more competent at that job, though a specialist would still be more skilled, but a "Job"-dee could be safely left to supervise other Dee's to do the job as well.

Variants of Waddle-doo are also extremely rare, though many are aware of the King-Doo seen quite often in Central especially during the yearly Festival... though people wonder if there is only one King-doo.
