Pop Goes The Weasel! [Gabriel]

It was seemingly like another night in the force, if it weren't for the fact a big deal criminal wasn't being locked up in here. But the night shift would go on just like any other, long hours full of needless amounts of paperwork fueled by sugary energy drinks and coffee. Psyche-Terrorist or not, a criminal was a criminal. As such, the daily functions of the station went on as normal. Save for the fact that the cell the notorious Gabriel Gatsby was holed up in was guarded by the two armored guards from the Prison.


Down the hall came a service officer who was pushing a cart down for the nightly meal for all of the station's inmates. Meals were given and shoved through the opening slots of the cell doors. The cameras kept an even eye on her descent down and down to the next set of prisoners to serve. Wheels kept creaking by as the officer strode down the hallway, all the while singing to herself down the path.


Eventually, she met face to face with the guards, even as she kept singing to herself. Neither of them seemed to care as usual. If anything, you could easily mistake them as unmoving statues. Or even, worse, a scarecrow for all of their intimidating equipment. Yet, the officer didn't seem to pay them any mind as she waited for the electric lock on the door to click and open wide for her.


She would still sing to herself, as she entered. It took one--no, two steps inside to be face to face with the cell door that held the one and only Gabriel Gatsby. The woman began to smile at him through the cell and he could easily notice her presence. "A penny for a spool of thread... A penny for a needle—That's the way the money goes, Pop! Goes the weasel!"

Dealing with Susan was rather stressful, he didn't know how to really feel about it as he sat within the comfort of his cell. Some of his ticks were card shuffling in order to get his nerves under control, but he couldn't even bring out his soulbound to do that. Then again, getting gunned down wasn't something that Gabe would be interested in while being at such a disadvantage.

"Hmm...."

Gabe thought about how the night would go, the amount of pain he was going to experience from within his head. He thought about what he would forget, basically everything related to terrorism and it being switched to being a cadet. But at the same time, he loathed the thought of forgetting the memory of Selenus sacrificing his life for them, something like that would have been an unforgivable sin.  Could he ever forgive himself for doing so? What would selenus say about leaving Nola all alone? Even the others, he had responsibilities to them.

"What's that sound?"

For some reason, Gabe was hearing a weird song being sung in the background as he continued to be lost in his own thoughts. There was a cart being pushed about, the squeak of the wheels was a shock to his senses as the door swung open.

"You are....."

Gabe looked past her and wondered if there was food waiting for him? He was hungry, but he was also careful of the idea of being poisoned or anything of the sort.


"Mealtime?  I'm quite used to Mediterranian caviar, but it seems like my pallet could take just about anything. Unless you are going to dump it on the floor for your own amusement..."

The woman would ignore Gabriel as she kept on singing to herself, as if in a trance. She began to dig into the drawers and pull out what appeared to be a white envelope and a white box, not the tray of food and drink that was expected for prisoners. She handed it to him through the slot and watched him unpack what was inside. When he did, she began to head back out to the guards while starting to rummage through her pocket... for a grenade.

Gabriel Gatsby Receives:

Gabe was confused as all hell with the way that she was acting, pretty much ignoring him as she gave him a box and a letter.  But when he went through the contents in order to find out what it was, it turned out to be nothing more than a gun. There was also instructions and things of the sort that ignited a fire in his heart. For some reason, someone sent him this

He wanted to question it, he wanted to say something. But there were no words being formed from his mouth in fear of the guards hearing. The "why "wasn't important to him. He thought in his mind of what he said to Susan all those nights before.

"Gabriel Gatsby, is a man-made from second chances....I wonder how true this really holds now? But.... at what cost?"

Either way, Gabriel secured the contents and loaded the gun with impeccable speed. His hands were quick and efficient, no motion was wasted at all. Even with him being exhausted and things of the sort, Gabriel had one last gamble he could take here.

The woman would keep singing, as if not having a single care in the world. But unknown to Gabriel as she faced the door, manic tears would begin to dribble down her face as she smiled contently. The floor would be met with a soft ping as the pin dropped and the grenade was live. With a press of a silver button by the door, the electric lock clicked. The door would swing open as the girl skipped out of the threshold. The guards didn't seem at all interested... until they saw the grenade in her hands held up to her own face and the faceless expression laughing at them as she gave one final line.


The guards were flung back to the sides from the sheer force. The electric door flew off its hinges and smacked against the cell door, causing the metallic frame to whine before giving way to collapse to the ground, opening a path. The immediate area right at the entrance would be stained with bits of blood and viscera with the smoke wafting about. What was even left of the officer was just her detached legs missing her entire obliterated torso... twitching.

As Gabe was getting ready and waiting for some kind of chance or opening to reveal itself, he wasn't expecting what was going to happen next. The laughter, the laughter of a madwoman was something that shook the very core of his soul. Following that, there was an explosion of some kind that made Gabe stumble a bit as the door was damaged enough to reveal the other side.

His freedom was clear, but what was left of the policewoman was a freakish sight that Gabe literally hasn't seen in the entirety of being a terrorist. The legs were still standing up, twitching. The charred flesh and blood served as the canvas of a corrupt artistic expression of Gabe leaving the cell, basically being granted his freedom through the sacrifice of others. Gabe didn't know her story at all, not even her name, not who she loved or even loved her. He knew nothing, and yet, his empathy for her death was like an anchor wrapped around his heart.

"Did she just kill herself?.......ugh......"


Gabe grasped his head, it was a lot to take in, he felt like that scene itself would have made him go a little crazy with how it turned out to be in the end.  However, he didn't even have any time for that, it would really be for nothing if he stood still and did nothing. That explosion was going to attract attention and he had to start moving right now.

In addition to that, it would be easy to blame him for all of this, if this failed, this was his execution for the murder of an officer, attempted escape, and the attempted murder of the two guards that were at the door. He was going to go down hard for them......

.......Escape was his only option now.....

"I'm sorry...."

Getting out of the wreckage, Gabe started on his journey to getting out of here.

It may seem as if Gabriel was going to be scotch-free. Yet, it was not going to be that easy, unfortunately. As powerful as the explosion was, the guards were stirring and were quickly back on their feet. They noticed the familiar figure outside of the cell and trained their weapons on him. They had no questions to ask, for they were not trained to do so.  On top of that, each one blocked the path and there was no way for Gabriel to feasibly escape normally...

With his persona appearing, Gabe prepared himself to fight.
